....also hopefully this will help me come up with a real personality for Morvai, because in this latest rewrite I have upgraded him from disc one boss to third member of this band of intrepid adventurers* and I have been realizing he needs to be more than a two-dimensional list of character tropes.
*idiots who keep accidentally ending up on quests, like failing upwards but for people who have no idea how to solve their own problems

#WHOOPS#the thing is we want grandma to come out from manitoba this year#and she was originally supposed to drive out with her second cousin (?) Debbie#but Debbie has hit 2 deer in a month and injured her arm so she can't drive and we're also like um grandma we don't want you in a cat#*car with this lady. like yeah there are deer she lives in a rural area but TWO IN ONE MONTH!! not good we don't trust Debbie anymore#sooooo my aunt was like well i guess i would have to drive out and pick her up and then drive her home bc no one else can get the time off#and grandmas very anxious about flying and there is no bus (she hasn't taken the bus anyway since you know. the axe murder.)#SOOOOO ANYWAY i was like well i can drive and i have some time off...and then i remembered thats 14 hours BY MYSELF#on one hand: lotsa podcast time. on the other: would be the longest solo drive ive ever done#so. this could be. fun#maybe

Thrift Haul: Fuck, I Need Summer Clothes Edition
purple tank top. fulfills Tank Top Requirement for this year
pair of shorts I'm on the fence about (but my store doesn't have change rooms so I have to buy them, try them at home, and then decide whether to keep it return them)
3 button down short sleeve tops in various patterns. have decided that since high waisted stuff is the most comfortable for me I'm singlehandedly bringing back 2010s fashion. anyway I think these will go well with the skirts I acquired recently
books! a little book of Tim Wynne-Jones stories that looks interesting and a neat copy of The Yellow Wallpaper
adorable little dessert dishes that lowkey reminded me of the strawberry glasses from NANA. I NEED to get some ice cream now!!

there were more cops than usual (so: more than 0) at the value village today, which I suppose is a good thing since a Major Crime happened there on Friday, and like, you want the cops to not abandon an unsolved crime scene within 2 days right? But it did make me feel like I should shout "aaaahhhhhh I didn't steal anythiiiiing" when I walked out.
#i did not scream but it was a close one#also i thought the store would be less busy but if anything it was MROE busy with YOUNG people instead of the usual old ladies#this city's true crime population loves to thrift i guess#anyway i found some cool stuff will post a thrift haul in a minute

plan for today: do all the stuff I forgot yesterday with bonus errands
#said errands might be a crapshoot bc i have no idea if either business is open#one was closed for renos for ages and the other had an Incident on Friday that im not sure they've recovered from#but meh. i shall go for a silly little walk nonetheless#the goal for value village is to return with some shorts and shirts and NOT a ton of kitchenware so we'll see how that pans out
