03.  THE  SUMMARY

very little is known about lucky's life before he was lucky. he didn't come from much, but was discovered by a modeling agency while in high school. after graduating, their career took them all over the world, before eventually settling in miami when his career began to dip, and gigs were few and far between. his foray into the underground racing scene started with a modeling gig. he eventually befriended a few people and joined in when they formed the rodani prowlers. he aligned with them ever since, his loyalty unwavering even through the split that formed the nariza bois. to this day, lucky remains a steadfast member of the crew and shows no signs of switching up, harboring a deep resentment for the opposing crew birthed out of betrayal.

04.  HEADCANONS

lucky  gets  his  name  for  being  exactly  that.  early  on,  he  was  a  lucky  charm  for  racers,  and  posing  with  their  cars  often  guaranteed  them  good  results.  it  stuck  so  much  that  no  one  calls  him  by  his  birth  name  anymore,  save  for  his  closest  friends.

used  to  model  on  runways  when  he  was  younger,  but  as  he  grew  older  transitioned  into  commercial  modeling.  he  rarely  does  it  not  since  joining  the  racing  scene,  but  you  can  often  find  him  in  ads  every  now  and  then.

your  local  weirdo  tbh  …  believer  in  all  things  metaphysical,  astrology  and  tarot  and  whatnot.  consults  psychics  for  major  life  decisions  and  stands  by  it.

huge  cinephile.  doesn't  play  about  his  movies  and  yes,  is  incredibly  pretentious  about  it.  lucky is a  frequent  customer  of  vogue  videos  and  i  know  the  employees  there  are  tired  of  his  rants  and  reviews  about  all  the  movies  he's  rented,  but  in  his  defense  letterboxd  doesn't  exist  in  2007.

a  real  #yearner  but  is  bad  at  relationships.  he  is  proven  to  be  a  handful  and  can  come  across  as  clingy  but  he  just  wants  someone  to  match  his  freak.

gripping  the  first  place  trophy  until  your  knuckles  turn  white,  pushing  yourself  to  the  absolute  limit  and  then  some,  spitting  words  laced  with  venom,  bleeding  half  crescent  wounds  on  the  palm  of  your  hand  where  you  dug  your  nails  deep,  the  sounds  of  your  father's  booming  voice  reverberating  in  your  mind  at  night.

03.  THE  SUMMARY

winners  don't  cry.  words  that  stuck  with  xochitl  the  day  she  won  her  first  competition,  an  english  spelling  bee.  from  the  moment  xochitl  learned  to  do  anything,  their  father  drilled  it  into  them  that  life  is  about  success,  and  success  means  winning.  they  entered  every  competition,  played  every  sport,  and  every  loss  meant  being  berated  by  their  father  until  she  got  her  head  straight.  xochitl  heard  of  the  racing  scene  through  a  friend,  didn't  think  much  of  it  until  they  were  brought  to  watch  a  race,  and  that's  where  the  obsession  began.  the  moment  they  stepped  in  a  car  themself,  there  was  a  spark.  a  need.  a  desire  to  be  the  best.  some  may  say  she  comes  off  strong  for  a  newbie,  but  nothing  matters  to  her  if  she's  not  winning.

04.  HEADCANONS

gets  her  alias  viper  from  the  way  they  talk  during  meets.  venomous,  acrid.  all  bark  and  bite.  speaks  like  they're  desperate  to  prove  something  all  the  time.

as  expected,  does  not  take  negative  criticism  very  well.  xochitl  takes  it  very  personally  even  if  it's  constructive  and  doesn't  take  advice  from  people  they  don't  respect.  refuses  to  listen  to  people  if  they  have  nothing  good  to  say,  which  is  often  considering  their  extremely  off-putting  and  intense  personality.

there's  a  side  of  xochitl  that  she  shows  to  the  public  and  a  more  vulnerable  side  that  no  one  ever  sees.  it's  hard  to  get  them  to  open  up  but  when  they  do,  it's  usually  to  people  they  really  trust.  nevertheless,  despite  their  demeanor  they  actually  crave  initmate  relationships  but  have  a  hard  time  letting  people  in.

skateboard tricks that don't quite stick the landing, peeling an orange and getting the juice all over your hands, laughter pulled so deep from your chest that you can hear it in a crowded room, flipping through the pages of a vintage comic book, the desperate clambering for validation from everyone you know.

phoenix  was  born  and  raised  in  manila  to  a  real  estate  agent  and  a  mechanic.  at  fourteen,  their  family  uprooted  their  entire  life  by  moving  to  florida  for  her  mother  to  pursue  better  things  in  her  career,  effectively  ripping  her  away  from  the  only  life  she  knew.  they  went  to  college  out  of  obligation  and  pursued  a  biology  degree  that  never  went  anywhere.  becoming  a  mechanic  for  the  rodani  prowlers  was  brought  on  by  pure  chance.  she  discovered  the  world  of  underground  racing  through  online  forums  and,  having  been  a  fan  of  motorsports  through  their  father,  decided  to  show  up  to  a  race.  members  of  the  prowlers  split  off  to  form  the  nariza  bois  and  the  crew  was  down  a  few  mechanics  —  phoenix  happened  to  be  at  the  right  place  at  the  right  time.

phoenix  was  born  jocelyn  grace  —  but  under  no  circumstance  should  you  call  them  that  unless  you  want  to  be  smacked  with  a  skateboard.  ever  since  they  were  twelve,  they've  gone  by  phoenix  after  their  favorite  x-men  character,  jean  grey.  it's  also  how  they  got  their  alias  marvel.

cringefail  girlboyloser  3000  …  no  rizz  no  game  no  filter  and  it's  why  she's  never  been  in  a  relationship  that's  lasted  longer  than  two  months.  painfully  hopeless  romantic,  and  harbors  many  crushes  that  often  go  unrequited.

alexa  (  or  i  guess  not  it's  2007  )  play  sk8er  boi  by  avril  lavigne  !  fell  in  love  with  skating  ever  since  they  were  adopted  by  a  bunch  of  skate  rats  in  their  freshman  year  of  high  school.  for  their  skill  set,  they're  pretty  good,  but  you  can  often  find  them  in  the  skate  park  trying  (  and  failing  )  to  perform  advanced  tricks  way  above  their  level.

loyal  to  a  fault.  will  ride  for  anyone  she  cares  for  even  if  it's  to  her  detriment,  but  they  can't  help  that  family  and  friendship  are  what  they  value  most.  it  shows  clearly  with  the  prowlers.  she  feels  very  strongly  about  the  rivalry  because  of  her  devotion  to  their  crew.  if  phoenix  considers  you  a  friend,  then  they'll  do  absolutely  anything  for  you.

not  the  best  mechanic  …  often  at  fault  when  a  prowler's  race  goes  south  but  she's  trying  her  best  !!  she  knew  the  basics  by  learning  from  her  father  and  improved  on  her  skills  during  her  time  with  the  crew  but  it's  clear  she's  the  weakest  of  all  the  mechanics  so  most  racers  don't  choose  to  have  them  touch  their  car  unless  it's  for  something  simple.
