Around 2400m above sea level on the top of Roque de Los muchachos we snatched a picture from the "Magic Florian Goebel" telescope..and many more. It was truly spectacular to see.. even more so from the dried out river below. La Palma, Isla Bonita...i suggest you go there one day. . . #lapalma #islabonita #travel #hiking #astronomy #roquedelosmuchachos #telescope #lovemylady #canaryisland #abovetheclouds (bij Roque de los Muchachos Observatory)

[Question] [Explanatory Art] [VirtualReality]
You are looking at a design of space, created with mixed media. I designed it with illustrator and  photoshop on top of an actual painting i recently did of a colorfull galaxy.
My question however has little to do with the arts. More with programming, life elsewhere and the imaginary to get there. The galaxy design is there to guide you a little, to help get your imagination going as i ask you to travel trough space with me.
My question is the following; Why not make the User Interface in virtual reality a reflection of our own actions through a galaxy of our own?
I imagin a private galaxy where we experience our online actions, past and present, as a visual creation of our own. Imagin clicks, views and likes programmed to be various stars shining vibrantly. Near or far your growing number of stars represent the expansion of  your galaxy as you would spend time online.
By entering VR you have entered your personal space, your universe. One parallel to the one we all experience right now.
A simple augmented visor gives you your status updates and helps you to navigate. Pretty much your smartphone.
The apps you install give your galaxy color and can be given a location. You will float through Facebook and Tumblr blue’s, google and Youtube red’s.. slowly finding your way through your galaxy. Just like you have done in this one.
The information you leave behind (by being active) will be crucial in creating your universe. Colorful space clouds brighten your galaxy from blue to a thin orange fog, colors that represent apps, expanding and decreasing based on your activity online.
But this we all know..it’s a nice idea combining that what already exists.
So travel a little further with me, zoom out a little bit, look around, stare into your universe. Imagin yourself being surrounded by galaxies. Galaxies that have their place in your parallel universe.
Galaxies you know. Just like you’ve gotten to know yours.
A close friend, a dear family member ,the company you work for or maybe your galaxy has almost become one with the galaxy of the lady that you married. (imagine a couple is going through a rough divorce and their entwined galaxies are being ripped apart..)
These galaxies, the people connected to you, form your universe. And just like they are part of your universe, you are part of theirs. Meaning your galaxy (you) exists in more then just your own universe, you exist in the multiverse. (in VR that is)
But..still it’sjust a nice idea, and still a little boring.
The fun starts if we can play games there. Maybe your galaxy connected to a friends galaxy provides you the opporttunity to fly with spaceships trying to shoot at aliens or each other. Imagin shooting down your friends Tumbler shortcut by exidend (the logo that floats in space but is active just like it is on your phone or desktop) Do you owe him money then, for breaking it? Or will it just be fun to see it in pieces as he tries not to shoot you, but goes after all of your shortcuts.
What if that activity will be made available and realy can have consequnces?
What if we can really experience to fly, shape an earth like globe where we can test ideas and build alien concepts?
What if we create the multiverse?
What if we start with some stars and slowly expand our existance, not terraforming Mars but dive deeper into the unseen energies surounding us right now…
Maybe one day we can even turn ON and OFF the bullshit, as we please..
