"I know. The one close to my order down on lock...now I gotta start from zero. I hope it's not half bad." The blonde said with a slight shrug as she looked at the brunette. "I'll take your word for it. Are you a local?" SJ asked mostly out of curiosity. While small in population, the town itself was quite big. It felt like a little hidden gem. She could see the appeal in it, aside from the beautiful beaches.
adaline glanced up from her phone when she caught the woman’s question. " it’s actually been a while since i’ve had it, but it was good before, "she admitted with a light chuckle, eyes drifting back to the menu even though she already knew she’d be ordering a long black, something strong enough to carry her through the rest of the day. " dunkin can never fail you though, ” she added with a knowing smile. // @sjwalsh

Saphira took a sit and ordered herself a glass of wine. The woman was growing tired of sitting at home doing nothing and things with Kenny e were not working out as quickly as she hoped that they would. Not that she expected anything less. "This place is emptier than I thought it would be on a weekend. Is everyone over at that prom thing?" The woman asked, trying to make friendly conversation with the man.
Starter: Open !! @aurorabaystarter Where: Any bar of choice, for those not attending Prom or left early
Jude didn't have any incentive to go the events nowadays since he was single again, she was the only reason he ever went. Either to get her attention or just to spend time her. This time round, Jude finds himself at a random bar, much quieter than usual. He liked it this way, usually avoiding the popular places that left him unable to hear himself think. It took almost half an hour for that silence to briefly be broken by the movements of another bar stool skidding against the floor, and a voice asking if the seat next to him was taken. Jude nods, with a latent motion of his hand, "Uh, yeah. S'open."

"Not at all. It was messy as hell, but I knew that going in." The blonde said with a slight shrug. Growing up in a small town, drama was unavoidable -especially when you're a teen mom. "I am not. As much as I would've loved to have been born so close to the beach and with beautiful weather. I'm from New England."
"It is quite nice here, though. Do you have any fun places you might recommend? I'm here temporarily and need some fun things to do while I'm here."
“Oh dear. not a good experience?” Noelle grimaced, hating to hear that it wasn’t a fond memory. She always thought people dreamt of prom like she has, but maybe she was wrong.
“I did. I was born and raised in Aurora Bay. Did you?”

"A long black? I don't know if I would call that boring. Quite a taste really." The blonde said, with a light giggle. "Aren't you a sweetheart. Thank you, handsome." So far, Aurora Bay was a sweet nice place. Most of the people she had run into were quite nice. SJ wondered if it was a front, similar to her small town were outsiders felt that everyone was a bundle of joy. "Oh, you're new here? That's nice. Where are you coming from?" she couldn't help but wonder. He looked like a city guy.
"Really?" her eyes glistened with interest as she looked up at him. "I'll have to pop into Sweet Nothing's then sometime this week. But for now, an almond croissant sounds delicious." she said as she stepped up ahead and placed her order. "I'm Saphira, by the way. Or your can call me SJ."
"You see, I'm a bit boring so I tend to just get a long black." He gave her a small grin, motioning for her to order. "Go on, it's on me. Then you won't be too disappointed if it's awful." Hearing she was new made him feel a little more in place, he hadn't been here long either so maybe they could figure it out together. "I really actually haven't been here long either," he replied, tilting his head to the side, leaning in to whisper. "They do a great almond croissant, but Sweet Nothing's do the best desserts and cakes in town." @sjwalsh

"Oh, my love - you did not go to the right Dunks. There's always one that fucks up your order and one that gets it right. You have to know which one to hit." SJ replied. Considering in her town there were only two Dunkins, it was quite easy for her to know which one was the good one. "That sounds delicious! I'm definitely trying that."
"Oh no, the last time I went to Dunkin, my drink looked like sewer water." Addison could say she was slightly biased by coming to driftwood since her sister worked here. She naturally felt like the coffee tasted better because she knew how hard Eden tried at this place. That's probably where her bias comes in. It might not taste any better and she could be losing more of her marbles each day.
"I like to get a vanilla cold brew with a splash of sweet cream and cinnamon. Sometimes I add honey and it taste almost like a teddy graham." @sjwalsh

"I guess I can give that a try." Saphira said, figuring if the woman liked it, there must be something to it. An Americano was also hard to fuck up. "I wouldn't say that I'm new to town. More like passing by." The blonde explained. Staying in the town permanently was nowhere in her plans. She had her life and children to go back to.
"That's pretty standard for diner coffee," Mel shrugs, putting her phone back in her tote bag. In her experience, they brew a pot and then it just kind of sits.. all day. The thought makes Mel's stomach gurgle unhappily.
"Oh, thank you—" Mel puts a hand to her chest in thanks. "I like an iced Americano, that's pretty much all I've tried. Once I find something I like, I don't usually try anything else." Digging in her tote bag for her purse, she takes a small step forward as the line grows shorter. "Are you new to town? Let me buy your coffee for you."

"Oh, you're from Australia?" SJ said as she looked at the man, intrigued by the stranger. "That's kinda hot. I've never been there before...What brought you here out of all places? Don't people usually move to big cities when they're from overseas."
Lucas had a go to coffee shop that he loved going to back home but he had gotten used to the ones here in Aurora Bay. It did the job which was to keep him from feeling like a zombie so he couldn't complain. "It's decent and does the job. I get that though. I compared it to the coffee I used to get back home in Australia." he answered back to the other beside him.

"I mean, we're already here so I guess I'll have to get it." The blonde said with a slight shrug. Despite being in a better financial situation than growing, some prices for things just made no sense to her. "I wouldn't say new to town. More like passing by or temporarily here. Are you a local?"
Madison turned to the voice that spoke, nodding, but also giving a shrug. "Yeah, I mean it's good stuff. Can't complain. I do feel like you're paying for the aesthetic of being in an actual coffee shop though, which is a win some, lose some kind of battle." She browsed the menu on the chalkboard above the counter, as if she wasn't going to just order her usual. "Are you new to town?"

"I don't know -I come from a small town, too. The best is town usually means just the best in this town." The blonde said with a light chuckle. While it didn't take a lot to be better than Dunks, for the price she paid, she had no complains. It also was taking into account that she goes to the same one religiously and they knew her order by heart. "But I have to try it, regardless. It's not like there's another alternative right now." she said with a slight shrug. "What do you usually get?"
Felicity had found her way to keep the thoughts at bay: no snooze button, get ready as fast as possible, podcast-of-the-week in her earbuds, and a beeline to the nearest coffee shop. "Honestly, it's not terrible." She caught the last few words just in time, realizing the blonde had been speaking to her the entire time. Felicity quickly pulled out an earbud. "Not to yuck your yum, but yeah, it’s better than Dunkin’, for sure," she said, offering a faint smile. "They call it the best in town, but I wonder if that’s just because there’s nothing else to compare it to." A dry, mocking breath left her nose.

"That's good enough for me. I tried the diner's and that was more water than it was coffee, but who am I to judge?" The woman said looking for her and back to the menu. "Do you have any favorites here? I trust your judgement. You look like someone who knows what they're talking about. I swear, I mean that as a compliment."
After her morning run to her pilates class, the need for caffeine was so strong and that Mel felt a little sick. The only thing distracting her from the long ass line in front of her was her phone, which she aimlessly scrolled to offset the boredom. When a voice seemed as though it might be taking to her, Mel's eyes raised from some TikTok she was watchig without sound.
"Oh, it's actually pretty good—" she replies truthfully. "I've definitely tasted worse." Mel had also tasted better but that was usually somewhere international. "It's definitely the best place in town though."

It didn't surprise SJ that the first thing the person mentioned was Boston when anything referenced her home state. It appeared to be the only city people really knew, not that she would blame them. They weren't exactly New York. "Not at all, I'm from Western Mass." she clarified. "What a letdown. But I have no other choice, I shouldn't be around here long enough to invest in a Keurig anyways."
"You from Boston or something?" The only Massachusettsan gave a damn about Dunkin Donuts that much. "Expect coffee to overpriced and equally underwhelming." Nina lets amused scoff escape her lips. One of these days she really needed to buy a coffee machine and learn for herself.

"Typically, I go for cheap and average, but I can settle for overpriced and not burned if those are my options." SJ said, chuckling lightly as she looked at the gorgeous man. Too bad he wasn't on the menu, that definitely would've been something else. "Any recommendations on the desserts? Clearly, I'm new here."
"Depends on your definition of good," Ezra replied with a chuckle, his eyes glancing over the menu. He hadn't really explored anything other than his long black, so he couldn't really rave about their coffee beyond that. "As long as it wasn't burnt he'd drink it. "I haven't had a burnt one yet so that's something, right?" @sjwalsh

The hint of a polite smile formed was creeping its way onto her lips as she came face to face with her spouse, but that quickly faded when the door slammed on her face. "Are they fucking serious?" she wondered aloud, raising her hand to knock angrily on the door when it started opening again. "Don't 'Hey, Jo Jo' me. You closed the door in my face -What the fuck is that?" The blonde said pushing her way past them to go into the condo. She looked around the place, not just to get a glimpse of the other's life outside of her but to find the trace of someone else being there. Technically, she was still allowed to snoop all she wanted.
"What do you think brings me here? Take a wild guess." the woman said as she put her bag down and continue wondering about the place, touching the little house decors as she made her way past there. "This is a nice place you got here. You live alone?"
Kenny couldn't imagine who could be at their condo this time of day other than maybe Paxton dropping in but they went to answer the door anyway, and for some stupid reason, Ken didn't check who was out there before opening the door. The sight of SJ, their wife, made them gasp and their eyes widened, and on instinct they slammed the door closed. Staring at the door and holding their breath, Kenny realized they were only making it worse if they kept hiding from it all, so they slowly reopened the door to try again.
"Heeyyy, Jo Jo... what brings you into this side of town? Or, uh... this town in general?"

"This ain't Dunks, but I guess it'll have to do." SJ mumbled to herself as she browsed the menu at the coffee shop. Typically, she was always on the go and the Dunkin on Main St was the place to hit for an iced coffee while running errands. "Is the coffee any good here? It's a little pricier than my usual cup so I'm already judging." the blonde said to the person waiting in line with her.
