NICHOLAS DI GENOVA. DY:005
Belio Magazine 2007, Concept and design by GeeOhDee and Nicholas Di Genova
This is the fifth release of the Die Young Collection released by Belio. The people behind Belio were one of the first releasing independent printed books in the field of urban art and design in Spain.
The first time I saw the artwork of Nicholas Di Geneva was though this release. His art immediately caught my attention. The works are so full of details and structures that you always find something new in his works. Especially in his out of the mind creatures. I do not know if he actually ever painted graffiti, but u can definitely see the influence.
The book starts with a little of an intro text followed by tons of artwork. I particularly love the end of the book. U can see some photos of his sketches and Notebooks, which always gives u a deeper understanding of the art itself.

THE ART OF REBELLION - World of Streetart
Gingko Press Inc , Publikat Verlag 2003, Concept, art direction and design by C100
This is one of the first streetart books I bought back in 2003. I remember when I saw it on a TV Show, where they were talking about Streetart and referencing to this book. It has a solid hardcover and comes with a stickers pack which I somehow lost over the years.
The author is a graphic designer which you can feel when flipping through the pages. They have some collage style layouts and graphic boxes. The most unique part are the artist profiles. C100 send them some questions which were answered by the artist in different ways, some times with drawings or funny quotes.
The content represents the beginning of artists well know today such as Obey aka Shepard Fairey, Honet, Space Invader and many more... Plus the first internet portals for street and sticker art are represented in this publication.
C100 continued the concept. He released Art of Rebellion 2 and 3 over the years, but this is one is something special, the first part of a trilogy. A winner. A must have.
