How come megabats don't have weird faces? (hammerheads need not answer)

megabats don't have weird faces because most of them don't actually echolocate! they don't need fancy soundwaves to get around since they're sight-reliant fliers that mostly feed on fruit, so they can get away with having a Generic Mammal Face instead of having to turn their entire head into a huge amplifier/receiver for specific sound frequencies.

doesn't mean they don't make weird faces about it all the time, though :)
