Liberated. In honor of each of our lost ancestors who walked through the doors of no return. We are free, and we have returned home. I will never, ever forget our visit to the Cape Coast Castle, the last place many of our ancestors took their last steps on what we refer as the, "Motherland"... Grateful is an understatement!

Just because there's two more days!

Okay so since there are 3 more days left, it felt appropriate to, "throw my threes" one time for my city! So, shout out to my city, BOSTON!!! 3 more days, and I've only packed (barely) 1 suitcase… Jeesh, Sunday is going to be a lonnnng day! But anyway, let me attempt to do something, I am getting more and more excited (regardless of how rough today has been).
WORDS OF ADVICE: God gives the hardest battles to the strongest soldiers. You can overcome anything with faith, prayer, time, and patience!

… And then there were 4 days left, everyone continues to tell me just how excited they are as well as being proud of each of my accomplishments. I can honestly say, I feel as though there isn't much to be proud of. As you grow, you decide whether or not you will take advantage of each of the opportunities you are granted, this being a key example. This year has been such a life changing, maturing experience, and (again) this trip has the potential to add on to this. Jeesh, everything last year was SO, SO, much different… Who would have thought, the same girl who continuously refuses to sit in a different seat anywhere is beginning to accept change. Within the next 4 days there will be a remarkable change, and I'm looking forward to it!
WORDS OF ADVICE: Accept change, let go, and let God.
XOXO

Applying to this Summer Study course in Ghana was probably the most spontaneous thing I have ever done in my life. I honestly couldn't tell you what interested me in this course but I do know this, in 5 days I am beginning a new chapter of my life and I am more then okay with that. With 5 days before departure, my mind is racing 24/7. I am thinking of everything that has to be done before Monday… Monday as in the day directly after Sunday…THIS IS CRAZY! People typically dread Mondays. But this Monday will be an extraordinary Monday. THIS Monday, June 9th, 2014 will be life changing. It is the beginning of a journey that has the potential to change my life, permanently. I honestly still can not even believe that in 5 days I will be leaving for 1 month to the Motherland, beloved, beautiful, historic, Africa.
WORDS OF ADVICE: Do the absolute unthinkable, take risks, be spontaneous, take advantage of every opportunity and do not fear!
