"My dorm's empty," Sky told him, with a smirk.
~and then they had all the sex~
Skylar's friendship group was very much eat or be eaten, and apparently this week it was his turn to be the prey. They'd got bored of riling up Riley over her relationship with Kaelyn, and Cody had joked about Sky's dry spell. It probably said something about them all how easy it was to aggravate them into making reckless decisions. It hadn't taken much mocking before he'd stalked off, leaving them cackling. He hadn't set off with the express intention of finding someone to end his dry spell, but as he headed for the door he noticed Varney, and his decision was made for him. He swerved, nearly knocking over a bartender, and gave Varney a charming smile as he slid into the seat next to him.

Sky was momentarily taken aback, and quite viscerally offended, before Isaac continued his sentence. Well, that was more like it. Except... "Pretty hot? That's like saying Voldemort was a bit of a prick." Not to toot his own horn, but he liked his ego stroking a little bit before other types of stroking could occur. "It would be a shame," he agreed. "I can be very sweet, do you want to find out just how sweet?" he asked, leaning in a little.

Sky gave him an unimpressed look. "That hurts," he said, deadpan. "Maybe I'll go and find someone who'll appreciate my body..." At least he had some confirmation of interest now, he just needed to get them out of here. "Oh, I'm well-known for being a sweet-talker, me." He could lay it on when he needed to, but he had a feeling that approach wouldn't work with Varney. "Well, that's a relief," he said, drily.

"You're hot," Sky said, eyes trailing over Isaac's body, and gave him a smirk. "Oh, my sister's a Gryffindor, I've had to learn to tolerate all sorts of nonsense. Hufflepuffs are much more tolerable." This banter was calming him down enough to slightly regret his rash behaviour in coming over here, but it seemed to be working out okay so far. As long as Varney was actually interested, otherwise this was a pointless endeavour and he was going to have to leave. He'd have to try to move the conversation along a little to find out. "Right," he said, not entirely sure what a landline was, not bothered to ask and find out. "Calling each other through their brains? Really? I don't think I wanna be around for that." Riley had said something about how fast Muggle technology was developing before, and he'd followed the ensuing conversation enough to be a little scared of Muggles. "Excellent, I look forward to it."

"Life is too short for tiptoeing around like that," Sky said, dismissively, then thought about it for a moment and added, "Except for basic shit like not being racist, homophobic, all that. People should just say what they mean though. It would save time." He took a sip of his drink and nodded. "Yeah, probably. Reckon people will still be using phrases made up now in 500 years with no idea why?" Kirilee sometimes came out with some stupid phrases she'd picked up from her Muggleborn friends. "50 for the Keeper, and 30 for a Beater but I'll give you a Galleon if you get McLaggen," he said, only partly joking.

"Why would I do that?" Sky asked, then frowned. "What does that even mean anyway? Making your words into mincemeat?" Sayings were weird. It would be easier if people just said they meant. "I also hope you crush Gryffindor. See how many people you can knock off their brooms," he said, only partly joking. To be fair, the Quidditch team were some of the least annoying Gryffindors, except for McLaggen. He raised his glass and agreed, "Here's to rubbish pals." Maybe he'd make better friends after he left school.

"I'm annoyed by them because they're annoying," he said, because he would never admit that they were pretty good players. "You may have had the Quaffle, but you didn't score many goals. Not so impressive." Gwen had been on top form, knocking back nearly every attempted goal. "They really are," he said, with a grimace, hoping Isaac would get the hint to stop talking about them. "Probably, but it's a bit late now." He didn't fancy his other options, anyway - he'd either got into a fight with or slept with most of their year, or both. He gave Isaac a half-smile as he referred to Sky as his new friend, but he knew Isaac mostly hung out with Hufflepuffs, and Sky was never going to get along with a bunch of Puffs.

Sky smirked, remembering the match in question. "Well, your Chasers are extremely annoying." It was also just good tactics to aim for the person with the ball, but he did occasionally aim for Swain and Sparkes purely because they were so irritating. "It would be harder to be more stupid, to be fair," he said, glad that Isaac had some personality and he wouldn't have to regret coming over here. "You're welcome, though, I am a very generous and kind person." He snorted. "You clearly need better friends, then." It was definitely beginning to look like he might be getting lucky here. "You certainly can. I'll have a Firewhiskey."

"I see my reputation precedes me," he said. It usually did. Sometimes that worked to his advantage; often, it just meant people were scared of him, which didn't really help when trying to get into their pants. His temper was infamous, which his friends found hilarious. They had no fear of his rage, obviously. He'd never seen anything scare any of them. At least their view was blocked by a wall right now so they probably wouldn't come over. "Well, my friends are idiots, so I've come to find some slightly less stupid company," he said, with a half-shrug, and didn't expand any further. "How about you?"

Sky watched Varney's eyes go slightly wide and wondered if he'd picked the right target here. This might not be the easiest of wins. In Sky's experience, recently out-of-the-closet queer kids were either really eager to make up for 'lost time' or too nervous to even think about kissing. Hanging around in the Three Broomsticks by himself was a pretty good sign that Varney wasn't the latter, though. "Hey," he said, taking pity on him. "It's Isaac, right?" Having been the hot topic of conversation for a few weeks there, it'd been hard not to pick up his name.
