We Meet Again || Skyler & Thalia
It had been sometime since the punishments, and Skyler was slowly beginning to feel like herself again. She had finally decided to venture outside, stop and get some coffee, and just enjoy the fresh air. She was making her way through campus, when she saw a familiar face. She beamed a little bit at her, and made her way over to her.
"Hey," she said softly, before tucking her hair back behind her ears. "It's um, been awhile.." she said. She chuckled a little bit, swallowing a bit. "How have you been?"

masterdominick:
Aftermath |Dom + Skyler|
The touch of her hand… it was heaven for him. For a moment he felt everything was gone, he felt as good as before and he just hinted a smile for her, purring against that caress as Edgar would do for her. But as soon as she talked… Dominick opened his eyes and frowned to her, taking a step back from her touch that was distracting him from that rage he was feeling was growing deep in his soul. “I’m pretty sure we said to never lie to each other when we started this relationship.” He said, almost growling, reaching down to take the glasses from the floor. “Don’t you think I am well aware you are that strong? You’re the strongest person I know… But you have also a good heart there. They forced you to not only be tortured. No.. they forced you to be the executioner. The tormentor.” He threw the shattered glasses in the trash and took another one to fill it with whiskey. “One thing is me guiding you to that darkness, taking you by the hand and showing you what happens, what it is, what it feels. But they… they just…” He took a deep breath, not wanting to break another glass. “I allowed them to. I am just as guilty.”
Skyler swallowed hard at his words. She knew that he knew her way too well to let her get away with thinking everything was fine. She nodded, pressing her lips together. “But, Dom...” she whispered softly. “It’s because I have you, that I know everything is going be okay. I was able to make it through, because...I had you with me,” she whispered. She placed a hand over her heart. “I had you, and I knew that no matter what happened, I would still be able to come here. To our home,” she said. She licked her lips, tucking her blonde hair back behind her ears. “It killed me inside,” she admitted. “It did. But, we can work through this. We can...be stronger for it.” Her eyes glistened a little bit. “What could you have done?” she whispered. “You didn’t allow them to. They made you. It wasn’t your fault.”

“You’re welcome,” he told her. He smirked just a bit and nudged her gently with his elbow. “See,” he told her. “I’m not so bad after all.” He chuckled a little bit at this and licked his lips. “You and me? We should do this more often. What do you say you let me take you out for a bit,” he said.
“I don’t know if I’d go that far,” she chuckled, shaking her head a little bit. She grinned at him. She licked her lips and nodded. “I guess that would be alright,” she said. “It might be kind of nice, actually...start fresh, and all of that.”

institute-domruthingham:
Lack of Class // Open (Black tie event)
Dom was living for all these parties, it was nice to get totally shit faced after the horror he had faced during the punishments especially now that he was healed. He stumbled through the ballroom, not caring who he bumped into on his way back to the bar. He was never one for these fancy black tie events but if they offered free booze he was always down. He was surprised looking around that no one seemed to be as drunk as he was…How boring. He ordered another double vodka cran and looked around the room with his blurry vision, glaring at the other slaves that seemed to be playing it up for the masters. Dom scoffed “You’re tryin too hard” he slurred out before stumbling backwards, directly into someone “Woops” he giggled as he turned around to face the person he had hit.

Skyler didn’t want to be here. But, she also didn’t want to get punished, either. There was this nagging fear still inside of her, that if she didn’t do what The Institute wanted, she would pay for it. She was looking around, when someone bumped into her. She dropped her drink, and let out a little squeak. No one seemed to care about the glass, though, and she looked over at him. “You okay?” she asked him, clearing her throat a little bit. She looked around, seeing another tray of drinks, and grabbing one quickly. “Are you, um, having fun?”

andrews-gina:
Gina couldn’t get any of it out of her head, the weight of the instrument in her hand and the screams when she hurt them. But she couldn’t remember who she hurt. It was different when she was on the other side of it and her whole life had taught her how to cope with that kind of pain, but now she was on the other side of it. She’d always told herself she wasn’t like her mother, she hadn’t ever hurt anyone and now the guilt of it all was crashing down hard on her. She had been hiding from everyone, sure they were all talking about her and the things she did and of course that wasn’t rational, but the spiralling wasn’t stopping any time soon. Gina hides in the back of the library near the dusty books, sitting on the floor and reading the same sentence over and over again but nothing sticks.
@the-institute-starters
Skyler enjoyed coming to the library. It was quiet here, and she wasn’t likely to run into someone who wished to do her harm. She had a couple of books in her arms, and made her way to the back. She smiled softly at her, and moved over to her quietly. “May I sit with you?” she asked her softly. “I um, can be quiet. I just...I would like a quiet place to read as well,” she said. She pressed her lips together.

fayeth-araven:
Fayeth had stayed in her house for a few days after everything. Distracting herself mainly, she had tried to deal with everything but she after getting overwhelmed she decided to put the memories, the feelings, the questions, wondering what she should do..all those things, put them behind a wall in her mind, and just …not think about it. Not being bound anymore helped a lot now the only thing that took away from her real self was the glamour that she had been using since she arrived here anyway, yes there were some marks still but she could ignore those well enough. It wasn’t easy keeping everything at bay but keeping busy helped. She knew that she had to deal with all but today wasn’t that day.
So she grabbed her paint, paint brushes and some canvas and made her way towards a nice spot overlooking the beach and just began to paint as she had done many time before and thankfully she truly got into what she began to paint that it was only until she heard some noise near her that she came back, startled she looked over “oh you startled me” she said chuckling faintly.
@the-institute-starters
Skyler had decided to take Tolkien out for a walk up above the beach. She was going off the beaten path so to speak, just because she wanted to be away from people. She didn’t feel the need to go to the more populated areas. She was so busy keeping an eye on the dog, that she didn’t notice the fact that she was coming up on another woman. She placed her hand on her chest when the woman spoke.
“I didn’t mean to startle you,” she said. She bit her lip, and looked around. “I can leave if I need to,” she said, pointing her thumb in the way that she had come from. “I don’t want to intrude, after all.” She cleared her throat, running a hand through her hair.

Skyler wasn't quite ready to go home just yet. She was just enjoying being out, and not having to worry about a punishment to follow. She wasn't really sure where she was heading, but then she realized she was at the studio. She was curious, so she stepped inside and peaked through the door. She chuckled a little when he noticed her. "I'm so sorry," she said, grinning at him. "I didn't mean to scare you."
[Open | Dance practice ]
It had been a while since Chase had been able to step away from his duties at his masters house. He was always working hard whenever he danced in the studio and today was no exception. The sweat was dripping down his face as he practiced the dance for the millionth time. He had not even noticed someone had come by to watch him. He turned around to grab his water bottle and jumped when he saw someone. “Jez you almost gave me a heart attack!”

rowanxaubri:
toxic | open starter
It was probably the most fun she’d had naked without having sex.
Well, mostly naked. The school had given the slaves the option to wear underwear and while she didn’t care too much about being naked in public anymore, she’d rather not be washing paint out of her vagina in the morning. But that didn’t stop the rigor with which she was beating on the paint covered drums, living her best Miss Congeniality life and riding on an edible. The bass seemed to thrum in time with her heartbeat, the sticks falling on the drums out of time with it - but she was doing her best.
Rowan laughed brightly until some of the paint she was happily and furiously playing with landed in her mouth. Eyes wide, mouth wider, she turned to the person next to her and tried not to swallow the substance coating her tongue. “They wouldn’t wet us pway wit’ it if it was hoxic, wight?”
Skyler was having a great time.
It had been way too long since she’d gotten out and about. And, even longer since she’d had a few drinks and gone dancing. If there was any excuse for such a thing, this was it. She giggled a little bit and began to dance, turning around, and spotting Rowan. She grinned brightly at her as she spoke, and shook her head in response to her words.
“I would think not,” she said. “I mean, if they were going to poison us, I think they would have done that a long time ago. Plus, who else would they play with?” she asked her. She smirked a little bit, wiping her finger across some of the paint across her face, smudging it a bit, some of it falling into her blonde hair.

Skyler flinched slightly, when someone bumped into her. She smiled at them, though. "Oh, no worries. I'm just fine," she chuckled. She bit her lower lip a little bit. "Um...I'm Skyler." She held out a hand towards them.
Clem had gotten in late last night and after spending time settling in this morning, they wanted to head out on the town. They gathered up their arting bag and decided to head to the beach to try and sketch some scenery. They bumped into someone coming out of the dorms, " I'm so sorry, "

theodorawilson:
... welcome? | open
It hadn’t even been twelve hours since arriving on the island that the shapeshifter was annoyed. Harvard had been bad enough; so many people had assumed that she was some professor’s kid just wandering around campus. It had slowed as she’d aged but it was like being back there again, only this time the assumption was that the girl was just any other student. While it was understandable - she was only eighteen after all - it was annoying all the same. After the fourth party invite and second time being hit on, Teddy was frankly done. When the next passerby did neither, she stopped them with a hand on their forearm.
“Tell me there is a professor’s lounge. I receive one more invite to a ‘rager’ and I might scream. Or draw blood.”
@the-institute-starters
It took a moment for the other woman’s words to register with Skyler. She cleared her throat, and nodded. “There’s a lounge,” she said. “Though, I don’t often go there, myself.” She rubbed the back of her neck, before pulling her hair up into a ponytail, clearing her throat a bit as she did so.
“But, um..I can lead the way,” she said. “I know where it is.” She offered her a little bit of a smile.
