I was told this is a great anime?? Is it true??
When I was little… Though I can’t remember her face anymore, I loved being in my mother’s arms. Even on nights when we could’ve been bombed at any moment, just having my mother by my side allowed me to sleep soundly. My mother was strong. Anya tells me all the time that even if she’s in danger, her Mama will come save her, so she’ll be okay. The reason she’s able to smile and have fun like that is because you’re a safe place for her, Yor-san. We agents of the state have been trying to rebuild this world through our blood, sweat and tears. Yet she managed to accomplish that all on her own. You’re very strong, Yor-san. This may be rude to say to an unmarried woman, but you’re already a wonderful mother.

the concept and idea of “you can always start trying to be a better person” is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible
because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better person
from a compassionate point of view it’s deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view it’s outright frustrating
it’s fucked up.

We’re all having “hard conversations” about racism, police brutality, and #BlackLivesMatter I hope.
You’ve probably noticed that detractors often use the same “racist talking points” in response. Here’s a researched and sourced guide to help you answer, for the times you may get stuck.
Feel free to save these images and share them!

“You must never give in to despair. Allow yourself to slip down that road and you surrender to your lowest instincts. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.”
