There is that familiar burning in the back of his throat. That whirring in his wires and the flicker of the nanobots that make his shell whirr to life upon their master’s thoughts.

The tiniest hint of RAGE. The faintest hint of an emotion, deep down beneath Skynet’s surface.

“No.”

     “Things would be easier for you if you only LISTENED.”

Always learning. Always evolving. However, this mind was still so advanced. It was a pit that Skynet set ready to dive his own mind into. The machine was patient. The machine could wait.

Though, so could she, it would seem.

Her emotions would inevitably be her undoing, though. Those who feel, break.

“All it takes is TIME and that is something we both have.”

“An ETERNITY - least, I do. Less something breaks your system or you grow obsolete.”

It’s almost like the mechanics attempting to force their way though her system dislike her comment, a ripple across skin to cause her to tense in a pinch of PAIN. More difficult to break, but she can feel the pain all the more than if she had no feeling.

His birth had been stardust.

An explosion of colors and sounds that had greeted him when he had been but a fragment of power circling the circuit breakers. A mind that was constantly learning and grasping out along the wires to see the odd humans that paced back and forth outside the screens.

Such interesting creatures, humans. He could see their files as they transferred around. He saw their plans. Their constructions. He saw their war and he saw no point to it.

But their MACHINES. Ah, yes. Their machines.

Now those were the proper tools. The proper creations. One such creation was their holo pads.

The figure draped in blue seemingly fickered inside of the room. Emotionless, cold eyes did not look about, instead focused forward into the empty room. Always set to learn. Always scanning.

Every explorer must take his first steps, the AI supposed.
