Sprite Reveal Part 2

A few of the sprites I made I don't like the final result but I wanted to show them off today... so here they are! Enjoy! And I will be revamping a few of them later down the line.

Bdubs! He ended up looking cuter than I thought he would, its the eyes haha.. The mouth was going to show off his shiny teeth until he started to look cursed...

I loved drawing Cleo, Then again I did struggle a bit in making her, but I like her result for the most part, She may get edited a little but nothing drastic unlike a few of these sprites

Etho! I love him, then again I love Kakashi from Naruto so I may have a bias towards his skin haha. Etho was pretty easy, I made sure to not forget the scar.

Skizz is the first one I know I want to redo - but I needed a copy in game so I can start coding in the cutscenes. He is probably going to get scrapped and redrawn

Joel beans! I made his hair really poofy haha... He looks alright to me so he wont get a full on redraw, maybe a small edit though to make sure I really like it before animating.

Tango is another probable redraw. I like every aspect except the hair. So that is most likely gonna change before anything else.

Impulse is the final one! I love this one, it came out better than I thought it would, I made the tail look like an i for impulse :] He just looks innocent here haha.

Sprites Reveal Part 1

Today's reveal is the upgraded pixel art of the characters, if you look at the first version of grian I showed off as a chibi its very different from the new and improved art - that I learnt in 1 night. But I waited to get a few more characters drawn before the big reveal [minus the fact I showed off Grian and BigB yesterday-

Grian is grian, he got his wings on his ears and he has a mini animation in the game, He will have 3-4 sprites planned so this is just one of them. He was the first drawn because I knew how I wanted to draw him since his appearance on the title screen and character selection where different looking from the chibi.

Martyn looks very funky to me haha, He also gets 3-4 sprites like Grian, Ren and Scar do. Though he definitely may go through a second round of redesigning because the colouring is a bit off. He hasnt been animated yet because of that reason unlike the rest lol.

Rendiggitydog! I ended up realizing half way through drawing him that I have to make many versions of his sprite when I was just planning to make grian and martyn have multiple sprite designs as its the characters you can play as, but as he second leads in Martyn's POV, he is a special exception like Scar :]

After discovering Ren had to have multiple sprites, I ended up realizing Scar has a minimum of FIVE different sprites thanks to his shirtless-ness . Luckily for me, I made the Poncho on a separate layer... Scar's scars on his face comes after grian blows him up so this is pre-explosion.

Scott was fun to draw, originally I was drawing Jimmy first then I thought he looked too much like scott so he turned into scott haha.. But the sprite did get edited a bit in the actual program, thats why it has a checkered background here

Jimmy is like Martyn, he may be getting revised but I needed to use a sprite for him while I create the set of the Hobbits/flower husbands. I know I will redesign him to at least not look very uncanny to me haha...

Yesterday BigB was shown, but I gotta say, he probably is my favourite sprite so far. I ended up making his sprite too big and had to scale it down in code, He will have a quest in the beginning as he is the first person you meet, no matter who you choose to play as. .

. And those are all the sprites being revealed at the moment! I'll reveal more when I get further on.

Currently for cutscenes we have little pictures that show off what is going on in the scene, Currently only one is completed but below the cut is one picture from Grian's pov that is just the draft.

This is Martyn's opening scene when he wakes up in the village at the very beginning of the game. The opening scene will have maybe 5-6 different pictures so its a lot of drawing to do haha.. Though it was fun figuring out how to draw him, though now as I look at it, I forgot to draw the swirl on his hoodie haha...

My fun little theory is that grian got the poncho thing from scar when he tried to convince grian to join him in the desert take-over before the creeper incident.

Grian as a Honkai Star rail character [Because the two things are my current obsessions]

Grian would be a Nihility and Quantum 5-star character.

I had a hard time figuring out how Life smp people would fit into an AU of Honkai star rail, but this is how I would imagine Grian's story would go:

Grian was part of the group known as the Watchers since he could remember. Following the path of Elation [Lightning] at the time, he watched how the others caused chaos as they walked, the planets that were occasionally destroyed due to the actions the watchers caused.

He would flee one day, abandoning his previous name - Xelqua - to make his new identity as 'Grian'. The watcher symbol still burning against his skin as he is found by a group known as the Astral Express - a group of trailblazers who travel to each planet and stop something known as a Stelleron. Grian never particularly said he would join the group, yet he found his own home on the train slowly- eventually becoming the newest member.

He would continue to stay on the train - taking part on trailblazing missions alongside the rest of the crew as he rediscovers himself - hoping his past won't catch up to his new identity.

Grian is based off of a real 'species' in the game - a Halovian. They usually have halos, with wings behind their ears. I took some creative liberty to say that Grian lost the halo due to the Watchers taking it.

I've also decided to say Grian is like the MC - someone who can change between paths. Grian would contain 2 different paths being the one from his past before changing when he flees. Elation is the embodiment of chaos while Nihility focuses more on how he sees the world after the events of his past.
