Sky paused in her tracks, her mouth a little agape seeing another standing in front of her. Immediately embarrassed her cheeks began to darken as a blush took her over. “Oh no! I’m so sorry.” Sky said, shrinking back a little, her friend must have run off to another part of the store before she got a chance to come out, of course they were bored at just the wrong time.

“I appreciate the compliment, but my friend was supposed to wait for me. I guess they got bored waiting.” She said, almost sounding like she was bumbling through her words. She sighed softly, “you think the color is good though?” { @beaumontmonroe }

beau loved thrift shops. it was like a treasure hunt, scouring through the trash and junk to find the goods. it surprised people sometimes... maybe because he worked in finance, with its modern architecture, modern furniture, all sharp lines and greyscale colour scheme. and yet, here he was, looking for vinyls, 70s furniture, and leather jackets.

"uh..." beau blinked, startled by the bubbly young woman speaking to him out of nowhere. he quickly glanced around - did she mistake him for a friend who'd wandered off? - but didn't see anyone nearby. "the colour looks nice. it suits you."

"Alright, so brutal honesty." Sky said, turning in the dress she'd picked up from the rack, the thrift store was great for finding random pieces, this one was a beautiful turquoise dress, but it did make her look a little frumpy, however that was something that could always be altered. "I feel like a box, but imagine it taken in a bit."

Sky had really popped in for a quick drink, that being said she couldn't pass up an offer like that so she quickly nodded. "Oh you're a lifesaver, I was about to have to wait. My favorite drink too, I love it." { @willa-holmes }

"Do you want an espresso martini?" Willa asked, sliding the drink to the person sat next to her at the bar. "The bartender gave me two by mistake."

"Oh that sounds so freakin good. You know you've convinced me. I think I'm gonna get me some strawberry, blueberry, get them to put it in a cup and mix in a couple scoops of cheescake bits... You think chocolate, fudge, or strawberry sauce? Oooh or maybe I could get the caramel sauce." She pondered for a moment before turning back to Madelena. "Which one do you think?" { @rxshingpxlse }

"I don't know about you, but I think I am going to get the strawberry. I am a sucker for the fruit flavors that have actual frozen chunks of fruit in them. I know they also have a cherry one with chunks of cherry in them too but I think today is going to be strawberry. Do you know what you're going to get?" Madelena asked the person behind her as she held her bag and patiently awaited their response since they were waiting in line anyways.

Triggers: Divorce

Born the baby of the family, Sky always found herself clinging to her mothers side. She was every bit a mama’s girl and it didn’t matter where Aaliyah went, Sky wanted to be there. It became a bit of an issue when it came time for her to go to school, she didn’t want to leave her mother. For the first week Sky could be found sitting in the corner of daycare keeping herself together but she always had tears in her eyes. It’s how she gained her first nickname - Faucet. This would prove to be the one that got away, she hated it and it was clear so it was made very clear not to use it. By the time she was uncomfortable she’d made friends, and they enforced the rule of her not being called Faucet.

Having people stick up for her like that at such a young age gave her an incredible foundation of friends she could stand up with and a nice ground that she could live her life upon. She made it through school and high school with very high marks, setting herself to a high standard. During school though, her parents went through their divorce, without even thinking about it Sky started calling herself Sky Stone. She wanted to be her mothers daughter, she didn’t care about anything even close to being worried about her fathers feelings, and perhaps to a kinder person that would hurt.

She had been learning how to use video editing software, at first it was just to make silly little meme videos, never really anything that meant something, however one of her videos gained a lot of attention and made her think she could make something of it. She withdrew further into her own world after her parents divorce, she wanted to remain by her mothers side no matter what so she stayed with her.

During a little competition a relatively famous YouTuber asked for someone to edit their videos in exchange for a job. Sky sent a video in on a whim, not expecting anything to come back, however a few months later she was offered a job to do just that in New York. Sky decided now was the time, she left everything at home deciding it was time she found her independence. It was two months, phone calls daily with her mom, and finally she’d had enough. Their phone call on that day, she begged her mom to come to New York, she might have had her independence but she couldn’t deal with her mom being so far away. 

Sky is still sure that the straw that broke the camel's back on her mom’s move was when Sky mentioned that The Loft needed some extra love. Sky is working on learning more about how to get even better at video editing, but she’s much happier now finding her independence while also having her mother close by. Now though, she's more likely to find a bag of snacks than really try her hardest to get something done.
