Now or Never feels underrated, I don't know how to explain it. Even if it isn't, it just feels it.

I have a WinterSentry ficlet being written that is so Bob-centric and not at all kind to him or Bucky I am sorry in advance.
On a totally unrelated note (they said, even though it is a related note): Bob is so 'The Great Impersonator' by Halsey. Talking about the album as a whole here.

Saltwater Taffy and Licorice
Pairing: Bucky x Bob
Word Count: 1.2 K - Ends open ended ish.
There's a lot of team bonding here. I'm also a Bob and Ava friendship believer. Also, if anyone is out of character, no, they aren't <3 Anyways, did you guys know black licorice really started to be popular in the 30's?
Bob had a sweet tooth. It wasn't a secret through the Tower, not when him and Ava would spend movie nights talking (read: arguing according to John) about the best move theater candy, or the two of them made something in the kitchen.
Which is why him, Yelena and Ava were walking into the common room floor each with a brown paper bag, laughing between the three of them. It had been a lull without any missions and Yelena had suggested getting out of the Tower to "stretch their legs," which seemed to just be an excuse to get away from another one of her father's stories.
Setting their bags onto the kitchen island, their laughter came to a lull as they dumped out their hauls. Or, Yelena and Ava dumped theirs out. Bob laughed as he pulled a plastic bag out of his bag, the cheap plastic almost stretched to the brim with one thing.
Saltwater Taffy.
"Geez Bob, got enough taffy there to feed a small army," Ava teased, opening her Warhead, popping the sour candy into her mouth. Bob smiled, shaking his head. Taffy had been one thing that he was able to get as a kid, on the good days. They're cheap and when he was older it was easy enough to pocket a few for later, something that weighed on the back of his soul.
"Well can you blame me for having good taste?" Bob asked, shaking the shame off of his soul as he smiled at the girls, watching as Yelena tore a Life Saver in half. Bob reached his hand into his taffy bag, pulling out a red and black striped mesh of sugar. As he unwrapped it, John and Aleksei entered the kitchen, the Russian Super Soldier loudly regaling a story to John, who all but looked like he but had been drained of his energy.
"Dad, have a peach ring," Yelena said, handing her father the bag of sugary rings, prompting him to be quiet, causing a sigh of relief to leave John. Bob could only smile as he passed the taffy around in his mouth. Licorice. It wasn't his favorite flavor, but it was one that he was growing to love because-
The doors to the floor opened once more, and in walked Bucky, who was back from D.C. His suit was still pressed and perfect, his hair pushed back. His eyebrows were furrowed together as he took the corner and saw the sight in front of him, the candy across the island and the rest of the Thunderbolts eating something (Bob had seen John steal something from Ava's pile, although he'd never admit it).
"Ah! Mr. Barnes!" Yelena cheered, ignoring the eye roll that she received from Bucky. Every moment she had she took to tease him for his official look, "better you that any of us," she had joked one time. It was true, Bucky was the only one of them that had any sort of therapy under their belt. "Join us for our feast," Yelena added on, gesturing to the candy haul. Bucky spared it a glance, his eyes going to each member of the team, his eyes lingering on Bob just a second too long. "I need to shower. And I'm not a big fan of sweets," Bucky offered, turning away to head towards the elevator, presumably for his room.
John chuckled, shaking his head. "He is always going," he commented, a hum of agreement moving through the air. He turned to look at Bob, who still had a standing brown bag. "What do you have in there, Bob?"
Bob offered a small smile and shrugged, "just some jellybeans and stuff."
Bob wasn't surprised that Bucky didn't come back down after showering. It usually meant that D.C. was rough, and Bob knew that Bucky needed his time to decompress. It was something that they had communicated earlier on when they started to... see each other? Bob wasn't sure what stage they were at. It wasn't like they were boyfriends, and they weren't sleeping together, both their problems with touch being slowly worked through with the other. Yet, they still laid together most nights, Bucky would ask about the books Bob read, and Bob would patch Bucky up after a rough mission. It was... nice.
Bob's hand came up to knock on Bucky's door, three soft raps against the door, their signal. His other hand crinkled the brown paper bag he held. It took a moment, but the click of the lock being undone came. Bob took this as his signal, opening the door and peaking his head in. The room was dark, the only source of light being Bucky's alarm clock, which Bob had gotten him. The yellow glow that enveloped the numbers reflected onto Bucky, who was rubbing his face, his vibranium arm off to the side of the bed.
Bob slipped in, shutting the door behind him. He locked the door again, walking over to the bed with the brown bag in his hands still. He came to sit down next to Bucky, not saying anything right away. He just looked over at him, a hand coming up to grab Bucky's hand, intertwining their fingers. A quiet gesture, one that told Bucky that he was here. The bag he once held now sat further on the bed, forgotten for the moment.
"It was bad, huh?"
"The worst." Bucky looked up at Bob, the gaze much more intense under the low light. Bob didn't respond, his thumb running over the back of Bucky's hand. The moment was held there, at least until Bob spoke.
"Can you turn your lamp on for me?" The question was soft, and Bucky was able to back out at any time. There was a moment of hesitation however Bucky took his hand away from Bob's reaching behind him to flick the lamp on. Soft light spilled into the room, framing Bucky's face softly. Bob smiled, leaning in to kiss Bucky's forehead softly, holding the kiss there for a moment as Bucky's shoulders untensed, his hand coming to hold Bob's thigh, a weight there to remind both of them that they were in the moment.
"I got you something," Bob mumbled against Bucky's forehead, pulling away to grab the bag, setting it in-between them. Bucky looked up at him, an eyebrow raised.
"Bob-" Bucky started, however he was quickly silenced by a kiss to his nose.
"I know you don't really like sweets, but you do like licorice," Bob pointed out, pulling out a small bag of black licorice handing it to Bucky, causing a smile to come across Bucky's face. He looked up at Bob, shaking his head.
"You're spoiling me," he teased, although that did little to diminish the smile that was present in Bob's face, in fact it only made it wider. He pulled a piece of Saltwater Taffy out of his pocket, popping it into his mouth as he adjusted himself so his head rested in Bucky's lap, looking up at him.
Bucky could only sigh, shaking his head as he opened his licorice. He was getting used to eating it again, a treat that reminded him of who he was before Hydra. But slowly it was reminding him less of that, and more of the man looking at him in his lap, who stared at him like he hung the stars.
"Tell me what happened, I'm here to listen," Bob said, his speech slightly slurred due to the spit and taffy in his mouth, which only caused a smile to cross Bucky's face.
"Okay, well..."
