alex looked up at chan as she pulled her bag over her back and began fidgeting with the straps. "i-" she stuttered, not really sure how to respond to his question. "i don't like most people, nothing to take too seriously" she shrugged, trying to play it off. it was true in a way. she kept to herself as she liked it better that way. 🌙

“o-oh... alright. i get it. well, see you around. sorry to take up your time,” chan smiles softly, waving before he turns away, sighing as he makes his way out of the classroom. well, that could’ve gone better. he didn’t know why exactly but deep down all he really wanted was to be someone alex liked - or at least didn’t dislike. why was it so easy for him to gain everyone’s attention but the one person who’s attention he wanted the most?

alex smiled proudly to herself, revealing her dimples. she put a large tick next to the answer to mark her victory. she gave chan another glance, nodding slightly. "thank you for your help" she says, trying to be nice even though she hated every moment of it. "if I need help i will consider asking you" she says neither saying yes or no. the bell had rang for lunch, meaning the girl could rest her mind for 40 minutes. she stood up, putting her stuff away in no hurry as she didn't want to get in the mix of students that was flooding through the classroom door. 🌙

chan nods, satisfied with her response just before the bell rang. he stands, packing away his things before preparing to leave. just as he walks past alex’s desk, he finds himself pausing. sighing, he turns back towards her. “hey, alex? have i ever, i don’t know... done something to hurt or offend you? you just don’t seem to like me much and if i’ve done anything wrong i’d like to apologize,” he asks softly, playing with his hands.

as chan was explaining how to solve the problem, she was writing down the steps. she looked at the problem again, trying to work it out. "so it would be... 18 squared?" she questioned, looking in his direction for confirmation. as much as she hated asking for his help, it tured out that he was quite resourceful. this would be a one off as she wasn't the most fond of chan for her own reasons. 🌙

chan watches her work out the problem, smiling when she gets it right. 

“yeah, exactly! see, i knew you could do it,” he grins. treading lightly, as he doesn’t wanna ruin any progress he’s made in getting alex to talk to him, chan speaks up once more. “hey, you can... always ask if you ever need help, again.”

at chans sudden question, she turns her head in his direction. "uh... no" she mumbles, not trying to sound rude. the girl usually kept to herself, not comfortable with other people. which caused some of her, well, strange antisocial behaviour. looking back at the work, she knew that she could really use the help, but would she really go as low as to ask bangchan for help? apparently so. "actually, yeah" she says again, turning get her book around to him so that he could see the question that she was stuck on. "I'm not sure how to do this one." 🌙

chan grins when she agrees, going over the question himself. “ah, yeah. these kinds of problems can be a little tricky.” math may not have been chan’s strong suit but he happened to know a much easier method to solve the problem. chan explains to the girl his way of working through the problem, smiling to himself at the fact that she was actually giving him the time of day.

when the girl had turned around, alex sighed in relief and instantly relaxed. it was bad enough being in a classroom with fifteen noisy kids, never mind having to listen to the smacking of some girls gum. which was just gross. she glanced at chan, which was a bad idea as he was already smiling in sympathy towards her. she awkwardly looked away, embarrassed that she was caught. she tried to get back to her work but was struggling on a few of the questions as math was not something she was good at. 🌙

chan frowns as alex quickly looks away from him. with a sigh he goes back to his reading - or at least, he tries to. he can’t help but notice her obvious frustration with the work in front of her. after a moment of hesitation, chan leans slightly towards alex. “hey, i don’t mean to bother but you seem to be struggling a bit. can i help with anything?”

alexander was currently sitting at the back of the classroom, doodling in the corner of her page. she was unable to concentrate as the girl in front of her was turned around in her seat, trying her best to flirt with chan who sat next to alex. the sound of the girl chewing on her gum was very off putting for her. she wanted to say something but she also didn't want to make conversation with anyone. 🌙

chan sat at his desk, skimming through the pages of the book he was currently reading and showing just enough attention towards the girl currently blabbing off to him to not seem rude. “channie, you have swim meet later, right? mind if i come?” the girl asks, continuing to obnoxiously munch on her gum.

“i mean, it’s a school swim meet so... i don’t have much say in whether or not you come,” he says, looking up from his book. he notices alex next to him, quite obviously bothered by the sounds of the girl and her gum. “actually, yeah. i’d love it if you came. may i ask you for a favor?”

“anything for you,” she smirks and chan puts on a sympathetic smile.

“i’m just having a really hard time focusing - too much noise, you know? i’d hate to ask you to spit out your gum...”

“oh! of course, sorry, channie. i don’t wanna disturb your studies,” she grins, turning around and quieting her chewing. chan sighs in relief, sending a soft smile alex’s way.

hi !! the safe word is basically an established word that will be used in a situation where either of us are uncomfortable and would like to stop whatever’s causing said discomfort. so if at any point throughout us chatting i cause you any sort of discomfort ( which i will try my absolute hardest to avoid ! ), you can use whatever safe word is established and i will immediately stop whatever i’ve done to make you uncomfortable :) and yes, rp is fine ! <3
