Turns out it was entirely irrelevant.

Reading a Japanese mystery story collection. Right now im at Eitaro Ishizawa’s “Too Much About Too Many” and it started going through some of the suspects thinking about their motives, and I immediately focused on how for the first guy, the wording was “a letter received on the eighth” and everybody else very specifically got a letter “dated the eighth” like….thats suspicious…..
