I’m just watching the world news now, and it begs the question:

There’s so much shit going on in Africa and Asia. Famines, war and even genocide. So, why aren’t these getting any attention? Why isn’t there any cries for the people of Sudan, Armenia, Ethiopia, Iran, Pakistan, Myanmar, Kenya, the Congo and others?

Does the woke left really care about human rights? Because if so, why is there no support for these groups?

the funniest dynamc between my boyfriend and i is the chef/baker divide runs so deep. experimentally my boyfriend is a genius with figuring out what flavor profiles will not just taste good together but also will be enjoyed by the specific audience he is cooking for. a recipe is not a guidebook so much as a suggestion and he will frankenstein ideas together to get exactly what he wants to happen. he also didnt know that sugar will not work properly if you dont mix it with the wet ingredients in banana bread and when i asked 'why didnt you do it in the order of the recipe' he said 'i didnt really think it mattered'. autistically i exploded his head in my mind

I used to wonder how a vast number of people could let themselves not only go along with, but actively support things like slavery or the holocaust. How could anyone get to the point where they are applauding and/or participating in mass murder or abuse of others?

I no longer wonder. I’ve seen it happen. Turns out you just have to be a left wing person who is morally bankrupt and ready and willing to vilify an entire people to the point where the only solution in your demented mind is that those people must be eliminated.

So if someone tells them Jews are bad and committing genocide they don’t see a reason to question that or independently verify it before calling for a holocaust 2.0

It is sad how easily those people have allowed themselves to become the Nazis they pretended to hate for so long. They say wouldn’t have been a Nazi and they’d hide Jews in their homes but they wouldn’t because they aren’t the saviors today they claimed they would be. They’re the ones pulling up the floor boards to turn them in because they were told Jews were bad and didn’t see a reason to question it.

Everyone who just decides to blindly support Palestine regardless of what they do and vilify Israel regardless of what they do because they heard Israel Bad on the news would have been the first people to rally behind Hitler and would jump at the chance to do it today even with the history of the holocaust behind us because they aren’t the people who learn from history. They are the people who repeat it.

How can I argue against "free" healthcare when that means higher taxes? I mean, they told me I was selfish for not wanting to be taxed more

I would start with getting away from the misleading verbiage and label it as tax funded healthcare and then point to the largest existing tax funded healthcare system in the US, which is the VA healthcare system and that should give you plenty of evidence.

As for them pointing at you for not wanting to be taxed more, I would just ignore it because it's an ad hominem attack and has little to do with the topic at hand.

Project 2025 will give Trump and his MAGA henchmen the powers of a dictator. This isn’t an exaggeration. The Heritage Foundation wrote an 887 page plan for how they are going to end democracy and establish a dictatorship. They didn’t write it as a joke. They have been questioned by Democratic Congressmen and proudly boast this is what they plan to do.

There won’t be the chaos of the first Trump administration as the military will be turned against us and all Federal employees will be replaced by Trump loyalists. They have plans for concentration camps and rounding up millions of us. They boast about it.
