Here we go, prologue & 1st chapter are up!
I plan on posting a new chapter once a month, but sometimes it may be a bit more spread out, time-wise.
I'm looking into eventually putting this on webtoon and maybe other platforms in the future, but seeing how it does here first.
Even though l've been a full-time artist for a bit now, this is my first ever comic and I'm still learning & getting a feel for the format as I go along. I hope you enjoy!!! 💕

When is it okay to give up? on your dreams, goals, in general. Should people be shamed for giving up ?
You can always move on, always change your mind, always be allowed to learn that what you wanted when you were 15 isn't what you want when you're 30.
We inherit our lives from ourselves. We can move on.

My dear lgbt+ kids,
A quick reminder for New Year’s Eve: You don’t need to “earn” food.
Whatever you typically eat on this day - you don’t need to feel guilty about that.
You don’t need to make a resolution to eat less in the new year.
You deserve to eat. You deserve to enjoy food.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad

One of my favourite aspects in the season 2 of Heartstopper is how unapologetically intolerant everyone is towards homophobia. Like.
Harry showing up at Tara's birthday party and Charlie shutting the door in his face despite that apology.
Nick freely calling out his brother's biphobic behavior. Tori literally sinking her nails in David's arm when he was mocking Charlie and Nick and planning to out them.
It's so refreshing. There's no moment where someone asks Charlie or Nick to be the "bigger people" and forgive anyone who undermined, mocked, dismissed, and harassed them for their identity.
Because that shit shouldn't be tolerated ever and it's not acceptable. Queer people aren't here to be your redemption arc.

J. K. Rowling and Neil Gaiman are such a funny contrast to me, like Rowling: Oh, and by the way, I put gay characters in my books. People: Is there anything... showing that? Rowling: No. Also trans women don't deserve respect People: wtf Gaiman: Here are some immortals that transcend all human concepts of gender and attraction who use a variety of pronouns, and also some clearly canon human queers. People: Are the immortals queer? Gaiman: That is an entirely valid way to view them. Other people: Ugh, pushing a modern woke agenda. It used to be- Gaiman: Fuck you

On this day in 2014, Tamir Rice was shot and killed by a police officer outside a recreation center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Tamir was only 12-years-old. Black boys deserve to make it to and through adulthood.
Rest in power, Tamir — your life mattered.

My dear lgbt+ kids,
When you’re in your twenties, it can feel like everything moves forward in a straigt line… for other people.
They study for the job they want, they get their degree, they get that job. They meet a person, they date that person, they marry that person. They have their goals and reach them, step by step.
Your line in life, however, is a lot less straight, You study hard to get your dream job and then don’t find any job in that field. You date that person and they break up with you to marry their ex. You thought getting into art school was your big goal and well, it turns out you freaking hate being in art school… Everyone else seems to easily climb up their line but yours has knots and twists and sometimes you get stuck or slide backwards.
It’s a depressing feeling all by itself - and the fact that many lgbt+ people reach “milestones” later or in different ways can make it feel even worse. Your straight best friend is married and pregnant and you are in your very first real relationship. You quit school to get away from the bullying and never got the degree you needed for your dream job. People save up for their own place, you save up for surgery.
If that’s something you struggle with, let me remind you: Nobody has their sh*t together in their twenties. Other people’s lives just look pretty and neat from the outside, they have their twists and turns just like yours.
It’s a messy and confusing time, and that’s normal. No, it’s not just you! You’re still young, you are very much still in the “figuring out and exploring and sometimes falling flat on your face” phase of life. You don’t have to know it all yet, don’t need to have some big plan on which you cross off big milestones yet.
And regarding those stones: They don’t matter that much. You don’t need to meet your soulmate in your twenties. Heck, you don’t even need one at all for a happy life. Your first job doesn’t need to be your dream job you’ll do forever. Maybe you will never ever have a dream job and your joy in life will come from things outside of work. I don’t know and neither do you. There’s no schedule to follow, no manual to follow. Your life can (and will!) be good, no matter if you do XY at twenty or at sixty or never at all.
We can’t climb up in life, we can just live it.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad
