silvanusk:
“beer, yucky.” silvanus wrinkled his nose. he had never liked most alcohol. it was something about the taste and the smell and the affects of drinking it that repelled him. he had developed the taste for wine however, thanks to the endless jewish holidays that required a sip ( or three ) out of a strangely posh looking glass. other from that it would be safe to say that he actively avoids drinking when possible. “that was french? cool.”
Tumblr media
“seriously? you seemed like the kinda guy to me who loves beer.” wendy flushed at her words. “not guy. man. the kind of man who loves beer,” she corrected hastily, glad this was professor kettleburn and not slughorn or mcgonagall ( although she’d never call mcgonagall a guy, or so she hoped ). “i think so? it may have been italian, latin languages are all the same, weird thing to me.”

caradocdearboy:
Caradoc was baffled. Truly baffled. He wanted to know what Wendy was doing and what her angle was and why she was showing interest. From where he was sitting, his feet rested on the where the water froze below the dock. It was beautiful, half a frozen lake with ripples lapping over the ice. For a moment he wondered if the ice would support him or not but knew there was no way it’d get close to supporting him. “Mundungus Fletcher said he knows muggles would hire me to work in their garages. Said he could get me close to a nineteen seventy seven Monte Carlo.” Caradoc told her, flipping to a change of subject before he stupidly recited words that were doused in her image.
“He’s probably completely full of shit though. Usually is.” He added cynically, turning the thermos over and over in his hands. Drinking came so naturally to him that there were times if he inherited it from his absent father, because his mother was a saint. She never drank. “Drink?” He asked, pushing it her way.
Tumblr media
She wasn’t surprised when he changed subject. Really, she would have been surprised had he not, had he actually recited his poetry. That didn’t mean she didn’t feel somewhat disappointed; it had been months, since she had last heard his poetry and she missed it. There weren’t many others like them around ( lost beings with hollow lungs who wrote their feelings down in strange word combinations called poems ) and she had always connected with his poetry in a way that was almost terrifying. “That’s great,” she said, and she did mean it, even though she had wanted to hear him say something else. “Really.”
Did she dare come closer? Wendy stood there, as frozen as the ice in front of them, wondering what she was doing and what she should do next. And then, he offered her a drink, and she took it, sitting down on the dock as well. “Cheers,” she said, taking a sip from the thermos. “Beautiful, innit? The lake?”

caradocdearboy:
The valentines day candy Caradoc stole from the common room left a sour taste in his mouth. Should have figured this would happen, idiot. His hands held a thermos of hot tea with whiskey. It felt fitting, on the dock of the lake where he and Wendy sat wrapped in blankets this exact day last year. It made his head spin remembering, so he took a gulp of his tea and threw a handful of the candy into the lake. He was confused. Wendy uttered the words that ignited a spark of hope in his heart. That she was confused. That’s probably whys he melted her body over his on New Years, to see if it would satisfy the impulse or just feed into it worse. Part of him hoped she would tell him when she figured it out and the other half wished she’d keep it to herself. He loved her. Of course he loved her.
“Where are you, you stupid squid?” He bellowed out over the lake, throwing another handful of candy into the lake. “You like that? It tastes like shit.” Some part of him felt relieved to be yelling at the squid he’d probably never see. It was easier to yell at the beast than it was to think about his problems. Being near drunk made it easier. “Hey, fucking squid– want to hear some stupid words I wrote?”
Tumblr media
She needed to get out. The castle was filled with declarations of love, pinks, reds and kisses --- usually, these things were ones he loved, but with her thoughts constantly circling back to Caradoc and her heart heavy with regret & longing, it was hard to witness it. And so she’d gotten out. Fresh air slammed against her cheeks and they turned a soft pink; the February air was colder than she’d expected and soon she was warming herself up with a heating charm. Without even thinking about it, she moved to the lake, where last year she had whispered sweet nothings into Caradoc’s ear and his heart had not yet been broken by her actions. There, however, the voice of exactly that person echoed over the silent water, and her heart skipped a beat.
And without thinking clearly, she approached him and answered the last few words he spoke. “I’d like to,” she said. Perhaps this was why she was a Gryffindor; if she’d had no bravery, she would surely have turned around. Wendy supposed it was just her heart aching and her looking for a way to mend it by listening to his voice.

felicityxdiggle:
Felicity held her hands up, a smile on her lips. “I believe you, I wouldn’t want to fight you.” she chuckled. As Wendy mentioned the clear night and the stars, Felicity couldn’t help but look out on the sky and realized that she never even noticed and turned to Wendy. “It’s actually stunning and I didn’t even notice before you mentioned it. What are you writing then? Something special or?” Felly wondered, looking curious. Shrugging, she sighed hopelessly, feeling silly. “I just couldn’t sleep. Nothing more than just a good old fashioned ‘i’m not falling asleep’. I think it’s because I slept too long this morning.” She let out a soft laugh at her own stupidity.
“Good. Because I am one tough Gryffindor. I basically found that underground fight club,” said Wendy, laughing at her own words. She felt at home with the lions, but she surely was no tough Gryffindor. She liked to think of herself as being more quietly brave. “The night sky’s always stunning out here. At home, there’s too many lights to even see the stars properly, but out here you can see them all. Unless it’s cloudy, of course.” Then, a shrug. “Just whatever pops into my mind, honestly. Can’t be bothered with continuing any stories tonight.” Wendy frowned out of understanding at Felicity’s words. “Yeah, yeah, I’ve been there. Freaking annoying, innit?”

chxrchmouse:
Tumblr media
A weight shifted in Rosemary, from relief to guilt. When Wendy said brilliant judgement she glanced down. Her judgement was clearly trash, if even Amycus tried to tell her she shouldn’t be his friend. The truth was she had no idea what she was doing. This hadn’t been thought out in the slightest. “I mean– there are rumors about him, you know? Bullyin’ people and stuff.” Her voice shrank. “But that don’t mean he can’t learn to be more kind. He’s kind to me and I’m about as different to him as night and day.” Her hands twisted at the blanket below her as he tried to think of ways she could talk about him without giving away things that were meant only for her. “I think he’s lonely, his friends don’t seem like the best people when it comes to empathy. He really loves them though, his friends. They seem much more terrible than him.”
Tumblr media
Wendy plopped a strawberry in her mouth and looked at Rosemary. How lucky she was to call Rosemary a friend, and how far she would go to make sure she was okay. This was one of those moments where she was reminded of this: while Wendy was not at all confrontational, she would kick Amycus’ ass if he ever dared to break her friends trust. “You’re bloody good at seeing the good in people and makin’ them see it and if anyone can teach someone to be kind, it’s you,” said Wendy, and she meant it. She had, however, less faith in Amycus and his good sides. “Sounds like he’s lucky to have you, really. And yeah, most of  ‘em don’t seem very ... kind, but yeah, there’s a good side to everyone right?”

healerobin:
he hoped that she didn’t have what he thought she had. the years of confusion and struggling against something so invisible yet so effective in ruining your day is something he wouldn’t wish on anyone — especially someone as nice as wendy. but when she agreed, when she nodded, his stomach dropped and he refrained himself from physically slumping in his empathetic state. his subconscious made his foot tapping start up again as she continued to talk about her breathing. “no need to be sorry,” alex smiled gently, waving a hand dismissively. “i don’t experience them anymore.” he chuckled breathily in agreement to her comment about sleep schedules. “true, but there’s a difference between when you decide to go to sleep, and when you actually do go to sleep. do you have it where you lie down and shut your eyes but your thoughts are keeping you awake?” it was more of a rhetorical question since he figured he knew her answer already, but he thought he might as well ask.
“i can prescribe you some draughts to help you sleep, but the panic attacks are going to require something from you.”
Tumblr media
maybe she had wanted to hear that she was overreacting, that nothing was wrong and that this was just stress. wendy was confused by the things she felt as alex spoke; he was only confirming her feelings, after all, and while this should be a good thing, all wendy wished to do was run. get away from whatever this conversation was supposed to be, because she must’ve been joking when she told herself this would help. because why else would her stomach be in knots and her head feel like it was spinning as she was working towards a solution? “still. must’ve sucked,” she said. “oh, like that. yeah, i’m not that good at falling asleep; got a busy mind with loads of ideas and thoughts. sometimes it takes me a few hours, even.” and while wendy wished to run & get out of there, she was glad that out of all the adults she knew she was having this conversation with alexander.
at the idea of sleeping draughts, wendy bit her lip but nodded. “alright, yeah. and what d’you mean? like... exercises or somethin’?”

felicityxdiggle:
Felicity laughed at the Gryffindor’s comment. “Maybe that would be for the best. But if you knocked me out, i’d prefer for you to get me back to my dorm, and that does sound like a hazzle.” the blond snickered. “But you can talk, I doubt I’d fall asleep though, but go ahead, talk.” Felicity flashed her a tired smile. She was exhausted, even if she couldn’t seem to be able to find peace. “Why are you wandering the halls at these ungodly hours though?” she asked softly, and sat down at a bench, looking at her friend.
Tumblr media
“I know I may not look the part, but I’m surprisingly strong. It would really be no problem, but I’m not sure whether I have the heart to knock you out,” said Wendy, letting out a soft laugh. The invitation to talk was something that confused Wendy --- not because Felicity had been confusing, but because she didn’t know what to talk about. The question, however, was easily answered. “It’s a clear night, the stars are bright and I felt like writing,” she answered. It wasn’t a lie necessarily and so she did not feel bad. “And you?”

caradocdearboy:
Tumblr media
A dry laugh came from Caradoc’s lips as Wendy reminded him of what happened. As if had forgotten and that wasn’t the reason why they were standing here, at the entrance of her common room tossing words back and forth too personal for eavesdroppers. “Yeah, Wendy I know that–” why was he even standing here with her? He’d tried to talk himself out of coming and tried to talk himself into walking away, but what did he even come here to find? To kindle a a wildfire he spent months fighting? Before he could answer her everything slammed to a halt. It felt GOOD, to be with you… In that moment it felt GOOD. He needed to leave. He needed to walk away because this was only adding insult to injury. “STOP it. Wendy– stop. Holy shit you really didn’t think this out” There was a pleading in his voice, and he wasn’t quite sure who he meant that to. Him for coming here, or her for leaving him.
There was something self destructive in this, Caradoc recognized. He’d burn this to the ground if it meant he was still able to taste the ashes. “I can’t.” He whispered hoarsely, feeling as if the air had been sucked from his lungs. LEAVE. He began to bounce on the balls of his feet. BREATHE. Everything was coming down on top of him because he didn’t anticipate this actually happening. For months Wendy had shot down all of his pathetic attempts. “I can’t wait around for you to figure out just to have you leave me once you get bored again, Wendy I cannot handle that and I can’t have this pathetic blind hope only for you to decide you still don’t want me until you do again–” but in this moment I would still do it all over again oh my god– Caradoc couldn’t get his shit together. Everything was screaming against his better judgement and he didn’t know what to do. “Please. Just, please–” want me again, leave me alone, come back, don’t confuse me. “I gotta go.” His voice was reluctant, because he didn’t want to go but he had to go or else everything would spiral to shit. “You became one of my best friends and I’ve really missed and I need you to tell me you don’t want me. Before I go, I need to hear you say it because saying you might is far more cruel.”
Tumblr media
“I didn’t think this out?,” she shot back, eyebrows raised and anger suddenly much more present than before. “I --- you approached ME, Caradoc ... I was trying to avoid this for exactly this reason.” Because Wendy was a whirlwind of confusions, a person who could not make sense of her own thoughts because her mind so often fooled her by twisting situations into things they were not. Wendy was someone who needed time to think things over because otherwise she risked saying the wrong things and making the wrong decisions, and when it came to him she could not. Not again. Because she realised now how much she regretted the choice she had made before the summer, how she regretted having let him go because she could barely look at him now. And there was anger, too, because Caradoc had started this conversation and Wendy had not wanted to have it, and now he was saying that he couldn’t do it, and she was left with a lot of guilt.
Tears burned in her eyes as her heart beat against her chest much faster than was healthy. She remembered the words Alexander had said and tried to calm her nerves, tried to breathe in through her nose and out through her mouth, but her entire mind was focused on Caradoc and the hoarseness of his voice and how this was ALL HER FAULT and there was no way she could make it right. Whatever she tried, Wendy was left hurting Caradoc and she wished she could stop herself, she wished she could let someone else take control of her so this could be fixed, because all she did was make messes bigger than she could handle. “I’m sorry,” she breathed, shaking her head as she wrapped arms around her body and stared at his eyes. She thought back of New Year’s and felt a need to be close to him again, felt a need to lose herself in some kind of substance and let all her worries go and be with him, because she knew that that was in the end what he wanted, but she knew that in this state -- trembling, crying and angry -- she couldn’t give herself that. “I can’t say that,” she said, shaking her head, because she did want him and she wanted him badly, and it had taken that mistake of New Year’s to fully realise it. “And I didn’t get bored, DON’T fucking say that. That’s not what this was, and you know that. Right now I need to think so I can give you the clarity you deserve, and I will give it but I --- I need some time. I do want you ---” Again, Wendy surprised herself with her honesty. “--- and that’s why I need to think, because I’m confused about what is happening here, so please .. please give me some time so I can give you that.”
