I feel like we waste so much time with this “Do you want me to care” nonsense. Of course they do. Everyone just wants somebody to care. When you realize you’re just somebody to everyone, you’ve blinked and a world that was so empty and bleak is a world of opportunities now. You feel like it’d be a shame to waste them. You’re correct. Be good on purpose and you’ll be surprised by how much love people have to offer. Put in the work to be special to the people who are special to you. Make them see how much you care. That’s the real grind. It never stops because it’s never enough because I always have more love to give and I love that I have the opportunity to participate in such an amazing experience with so many people.

When I was a kid I remember thinking (in much simpler terms at the time) that it was so wild that we could ever communicate enough to know that color blindness is a thing. And the fact that we can never TRULY know if we’re seeing the same shade and the same tones. And I used to feel like that was lonely but just writing that out I think it’s actually amazing. Through connection we really do get to live so many lives. Empathy truly is a skill that we can exercise like a muscle and it makes me so sad that it is discouraged and looked upon as a weakness. If I’m so weak for volunteering to put myself in your shoes just so you don’t feel alone, why don’t you try on mine? It’s so easy a coward could do it. Are they comfortable? Yeah that spot in the toe bothers me too. I’m all out of ideas on what to do about it. Do you have any? Thank you for putting them on for me. That was very kind of you.
