complimented a cashier on her turtle pin this morning and she said "oh thanks, I am a little bit of a Turtle Person" with the carefully contained energy of Cookie Monster telling you he's mildly fond of chocolate chips
I hope she and the multiple tons of turtle merch she definitely has at home are having a wonderful day

Kickback
My entry for the @inugangexchange 2025! I had the pleasure of writing some sweet KagSan for @slothykins.
Summary: Some things are easier to hide than others.
Read it on Ao3.
Sneak Peek
Wiping the sweat from her brow, Sango straightened to full height, inspecting the battleground. It should never have been a battleground in the first place, considering the number of children in the village, but they'd had the common sense to evacuate before the real bloodshed began.
Enyo village had been built on the edge of the ocean, castoffs from the northern mountains helping to establish it as a leading place for fish and other sea life. Over the years, they'd sectioned off shallow areas for their fisherman, the more seasoned venturing out into open waters to bring back bigger bounty.
However, as with any sanctuary, it attracted those keen on taking the resources for themselves, finally resulting in an all-out brawl between the human and hanyou villagers and a sleuth of bear youkai who'd recently awoken from their winter slumber.
Until that point, Enyo had offered to barter for pelts and minerals from high up on the mountains, but a shift in leadership had the bears deciding they'd had enough of pleasantries, demanding the village's full stock without payment.
Inuyasha clapped Sango on the back. "Next time, leave some for the rest of us," he said, resting Tessaiga on his shoulder.
Hiding a wince, Sango turned to him with a grin. "Maybe you should learn to keep up."
Silver ears twitched in agitation. "Maybe you should ask for help before barging into battle by yourself."
Sango raised a brow, Hiraikotsu resting at her side. "Now, where have I heard that before?"
Miroku grabbed Inuyasha around the neck before he could retort, one hand covering his mouth. "Now, now, my friend. What have I told you about manners when it comes to women?"
The hanyou shoved him away. "Like I'd ever take advice from you!" Miroku jumped out of the way to avoid the playful swipe of his claws, winking at Sango before leading Inuyasha away. The slayer shook her head, then went in search of the village head, knowing the men would be busy guiding the women and children safely back to their homes.
