the    still    sin    started    nudging    in    her    slumber  ,    though    the    uneasy    silence    woke    her  .   not    enough    to    lift    her    head    from    her    arms    as    she    did    before  . . .    the    debate    had    been    on    her    mind . . .    as she knew    Hell    could    rely    on    Satan’s    authority  ,    she also knew    Charlie    was    so    conflicted    and    had    so    much    on    her    plate    already  . . .    the    last    thing    she    needed    is    to    have    all    the    responsibilities    thrown    onto    her    while    struggling    so    hard    with    the    cause    she    was    working    on    now  .      Bel    was    known    to    be    the    MIDDLE    GROUND    of    most    situations  ,    the    one    to    look    to    if    there    needed    to    be    a    proper    answer  .    she    pondered  ,    feeling    there    was    no    middle    ground    to    find  . . .    but    maybe  . . .    there    was    a    way    to    make    BOTH    ends    happy  ?

He listened to what they all had to say, disappointed to hear how the common opinion was against a more straightforward attack, one he thinks they could do. At least when it came to getting the princess back. All the same, he couldn't get anything on his own. His eye would raise when Bel made her statement, clearly her brain was benefiting from all that rest.

" Well put, Bel. Its decided then. I'll send someone to speak with Heaven, use our leverage, speak with the Princess. It will be done. Now that that is settled we need to deal with a larger issue at hand."

Placing his claws together he was about to make the true purpose of this meeting made known. He'd spoken to many already, he anticipated the people he needed would do as he'd asked.

But the word surprise existed for a reason.

" We need to be honest with ourselves. We all loved Lucifer in our own way. He was a dear friend to many of us, to some of you he might have been more. But I will say it plainly, he was leading us nowhere. Ever since Lilith left he has been reclusive, even before that he hardly put much effort into Hell. He'd delegate down to the goetia or to us when need be. He allowed the extermination to go on for years, let Heaven come down here and more or less be the true power over all demon kind. They could make demands of us we could not refuse, come down and kill our people. Not to mention Pride itself has fallen into the hands of powerful sinners. He went and held up in his homing creating animals and ducks, I was the one who ended up having to do most of the work.

His daughter, means well but she's young, inexperienced, and too compassionate to do what a ruler must. If we get her back and she takes on the role of Queen it will be just like Lucifer all over again, but from someone much more easily bullied by overlords and goetia autocrats. She's not ready to be our Queen. When she returns I see no issue with her being Queen of the Pride ring, she cares about sinners more then any of us. It seems fitting.

I propose we vote here and now who amongst us is fit to carry that responsibility. Given I have spent a great deal of time actually doin' the job I think I am the most fitting to fill the position, what do the rest of you think? Who should have the throne and the crown in your eyes?"

It had been long enough since the whole fiasco. The cleanup crew was hard at work, bodies were being gathered, and soon demons would begin to rebuild the parts of Pentagram City that were lost. Within a few years everything would look good as new, though never quite the same.

With all that said, it was time to get to work. Satan had summoned the other sins to discuss the future of Hell, one he planned to lead alongside his fellows. At least those who would stick by him through what came next.

Sitting at the center of the table he'd address the many different Kings and Queens of demons, the rulers of all Hell, the goetia nobles in the background watching the proceedings. It was finally time to discuss everything, how Hell needed to change now that Lucifer was gone for good.

" We are here today to discuss what steps to take for the future. As you all know, after thousands of years Lucifer has met his end at the hands of Heaven. His daughter has been taken as a captive. Things are pretty grim right now, as I'm sure y'all done knew that much though.

Obviously we need to pull off a stunt to get back home quickly as possible. Part of what I want to discuss is how to do that. Now y'all know my way of doin' things. I'd love nothin' more to march up in there and grab her."
