I was so mad when Johnny went back to Kreese in Cobra Kai, but it’s a genuine thing among people where they go back to the person(s) who hurt them because of the control they have over their life (even if previously), it makes sense for Johnnys character but it still hurts.

umm i would just like to preface that i do not believe Johnny's abuse was worse than Daniel's, nor was Daniel's worse than Johnny's. yes this rant is lowkey dickriding Johnny so hard that my pussy is gonna rip it clean off, but it's more in defense that he went through something just as bad because i feel like this comment is minimising his experience

FIRST. of all. this comment is written so poorly, i'm not sure what they're even babbling on about.

second of all, saying "all of the dojo would've left" is a ridiculous argument to make.

considering that the cobras basically grew up with Kreese, saying they would've left if Kreese was really that bad is just brain dead. Johnny was 12 when he joined cobra kai. 12 year olds don't know how to fuckin' think for themselves?? They are JUST discovering what they wanna do with their life, you think they'll understand and recognise patterns of manipulation hello? most victims of grooming or some form of abuse and manipulation are aged between 10-15 because that's when kids are most vulerable. do you honest to god think that after spending six years training with a psycho ex-war-vet who tried to kill his best student, you'd be able to just say "oh yeah... wait that's bad! i'm gonna leave!" ??? NO. It took Kreese trying to kill Johnny for them to realise that their sensei miiiight be a bad guy. They'd have been used to it and not see it as anything bad because they were never exposed to anything better. Johnny ESPECIALLY. That's literally just canon. He had no other parental figure looking out for him or giving him attention. Kreese WAS his father figure. Daniel, however, didn't spend anywhere NEAR that amount of time with Terry, and was ALREADY AN ADULT by the time they started training. THAT is when you CAN pick up signs of manipulation.

"...the people that harassed (bordering attempted murder) [daniel] daily" KREESE TRIED TO KILL JOHNNY HIMSELF. why are we trying to make it a competition on who got almost killed worse???

thirdly, saying that "kreese wanted the cobras to win" is just implying that his actions were justified due to his intentions being "good".

that doesn't work in every circumstance, baby, because you can reaaaaally see the aftermath of Kreese's abuse in Johnny during cobra kai, even though he acknowledged Kreese was just trying to make him tougher. no squinting needed.

both Kreese AND TERRY manipulated, abused, tormented their students. the situations ARE comparable. BOTH OF THEM ARE VICTIMS. but to say that Kreese's abuse was nowhere near Terry's is just abysmal to me. yes the situations were very different, but you have to take into consideration the after effects, the time spent with each sensei, and the situation of both students when they were training. Not just the abuse itself.

I would say Terry's psychological abuse was worse in karate kid 3, because i don't believe Kreese was psychologically abusing the cobras, especially not for his own gain, but more emotionally.

But despite that, nobody's abuse was WORSE THAN THE OTHER!? they were both just kids man.
