I am curious about this: I primarily write smut and crack on different accounts. My crack account gets lots of comments but my smut rarely gets any. I don’t necessarily mind this since the hits and kudos are usually what i enjoy seeing (comments of course are wonderful) but i’m just really curious why? Is it that people embarrassed to comment on smut? Even on AO3? It’s not something I really considered until i saw the contrast. Maybe I just think smut fics are more common then they are 🤔?
You’re correct! I think people tend to feel a little embarrassed about reading smut and as such leave comments less. To be honest, though we’re all at the devil’s sacrament, might as well say hello and thank your authors for their works!

If Vegeta truly loved his Bulma, why didn’t he blow up them people when his Bulma was literally right next to them? He could’ve gotten her killed as well. Bulma wasn’t mad at him enough for me.
You’re allowed to feel that way! But frankly if he didn’t love her, she’d be dead, as made evident by him casually murdering the literal hundreds of people next to her.
If I can advocate from Bulma’s perspective - She’s lived with him for over ten years at that point. Your first thought when someone you know and love for that long does something insane out of nowhere isn’t, “Wow fuck that guy.” It’s, “What the fuck, what is going on, why are they doing this??” which was her reaction.
She’d also probably know that shot he took was not random. She’s fully aware of his skill level. He’s a child solider, he’s a highly skilled combatant, he can sense ki, he can shoot down a spacecraft from miles away while it’s in-flight — with one (1) shot, he can kill something as strong as Raditz with as little as a gesture,

Vegeta was a high-ranked, hyper-competent leader in (two of!) the most feared empire(s) in the universe. He’s is one of the most powerful mortal beings in any universe. He’s elite. He’s calculated. He knew exactly where he was aiming and where it would hit. Firing near their families and friends was intentional. It was meant to make the reality of the situation crystal clear to Goku. Vegeta fired near Bulma to convince Goku (and maybe also himself) that Mister Nice Guy was dead.
The problem is, Vegeta is a hardcore elite. If he really didn’t care, Bulma and the others would’ve been the target of that shot, to force Goku to fight him at full power. Saiyans are built on rage! Sacrificing Goku’s oldest friends and family would’ve been the most convenient option to trigger a great battle if Vegeta was telling the truth that he’d killed his own compassion and stopped caring about them.
Goku realized that too, enough to call Vegeta a liar once they had a bigger problem to solve.
IMO That’s why Bulma’s not angry throughout that arc. Bulma’s a scientist, she knows things don’t happen without a cause, but she doesn’t know that he’s relapsed. She has no context for his choice to do that. She woke up this morning next to the man she’s known and loved for almost a decade, flew to a silly fun little tournament with her husband in the seat beside her, and then suddenly Goku re-appears in the ring with the guy who threatened to destroy the planet 13 years ago. She’s confused! She’s alarmed! She’s worried about her man!
She doesn’t have time to be angry at him. He appears in the ring, he looks Wrong, he fires into the crowd, he disappears again, and then he’s dead, and all Bulma gets from Goku is “Vegeta’s been killed.”
Then she’s dead. Then she’s alive again. Then he’s alive again, and not just back to normal, but coming over the ethereal loudspeaker to advocate for Goku, and for protecting the planet he originally came here to destroy. She doesn’t have time to be angry. She’s had like 48 hours to process an entire rollercoaster of emotions, and shas no idea what happened between point A and point B.
She doesn’t know Vegeta spiraled and sold his soul and was willing to give up everything he had because some part of him felt he’s failed to be the only thing he was born to be. She didn’t know in the span of an hour the tide came back in to drown him and the only solution he saw was to stop feeling altogether. She doesn’t know all it took was Goku telling him one time that he loved his family for him to overpower Bobidi’s influence and get his priorities straightened out. She doesn’t know he decided that, not just dying, but metaphysically destroying the identity he’d dug this hole over was the only way he could clean up the mess he made and try and make it up to her, and Trunks, and Goku.
And Goku doesn’t have time to explain it all. His priority was to get these kids trained up before his clock winds down.
She doesn’t know the bad things. She doesn’t know the good things. Maybe they talked about it. Maybe they didn’t. But the evidence in Super suggests, to me, that they didn’t just skip home and move on either. They’re clearly Okay, they continue to choose each other, but imo there is subtext to suggest that it did take time for him to fully recover her trust after what he did.
For example, in Resurrection F, when Freeza offers Vegeta the chance to kill Goku and come back to the Freeza force with a shiny new promotion, Vegeta leads him on, and Bulma immediately assumes he’s genuinely considering the offer (as does Goku).
In Super’s manga, during the fight with Cabbe, Bulma starts getting scared about the cruelty Vegeta’s displaying, and Yamcha — the person who tried to defend Vegeta during the Buu saga — worries he’s “turning evil again.”
Even in Daima, which takes place six months after the Buu saga, Bulma seems to be barely tolerating Vegeta and Goku’s rivalry, but by the time Super Broly happens, she’s enjoying hanging out and snacking and watching them spar.
BotG is two years (I think) after the Buu saga and is presumably the first time Vegeta’s ever done verbal PDA, which had Bulma (verbally coo about) feeling secure and loved, and their being portrayed as a comfy couple really doesn’t happen in the manga until after that first tournament (I’ve mentioned in other posts that Vegeta stopped using the bait-and-switch strategy after that tournament too! I choose to believe it’s because it clearly upsets Bulma).
This turned into a super long post but, tldr: We, the reader, have much more time and context to be mad at Vegeta. Bulma didn’t have any context to judge his actions by, she didn’t have time to process her feelings, and between all the weird shit she’s experienced in her life, I think it’s not strange that in the moment she just wanted to know what was going on with her husband.
Also, Bulma’s just as selfish and problematic as the rest of the cast (praise), and I think she’s so dependent on the dragon balls that she didn’t really care about a reckless ki blast, that damage could be fixed. Those people can be wished back. Her husband who’s been working for seven years to get better and do better and be better getting Surprise Triggered and spinning out and then killing himself as an apology is probably a lot more upsetting to her than anything else, tbh.

truly the end goal is not "my close friends aren't annoyed by me and it's all in my head, they're my friends and they love me", it's "sometimes I do annoy my close friends, just as the people I love most will also annoy me sometimes, because this is normal, and we will continue to stay friends, and they're not going to want to immediately cut me out of their life if I do something annoying once in a while"

Enjoying a rare day off today, and I was hanging out in @blackknight-kai’s discord server. The discussion in the JTTW chat was about what Sun Wukong really looked like based on the written descriptions.
@journeytothewestresearch has an excellent article about this exact topic. You can read about it here:
I got inspired to create this meme, enjoy:
