The way they had her write a letter to Siegfried at the end of this series … the only way she could tell him her plans to leave. That letter was supposed to end her time with him. But whatever its contents, it proved so important that he read it that they shared a moment, in this same space, that convinced her that her place was at Skeldale. With him. The bookend scenes that tied it all together was poetry.

After Siegfried kisses her the first time, I want them to rest their foreheads together. Then, I want him to say that he has wanted to kiss her since Christmas Eve 1939 - the moment he saw her in that dress. 🤗🙏😍

Siegfried’s face when he thinks Carmody is going to tell Mrs. Hall that he made a toast to her in front of the whole town😳. Carmody, you fool! Don’t let her know that I have a crush! 🤭 Mrs. Hall being so happy that she has won over yet another adopted son🤗 Siegfried watching on knowing she belongs at Skeldale and thanking Jesus she is still there!

My dream is for Siegfried to frame a photo of his beloved Skeldale family and place it somewhere prominent. Even better, for a picture of Audrey to find its way atop his desk❤️ Maybe a photo of baby Jimmy with his godparents Auntie Audrey and Uncle Siegfried. How cute would it be if there was a copy of such a picture on both Siegfried and Audrey’s respective desks.

Audrey Hall, Siegfried whisperer. She knows this ridiculous creature. Look at that little smile on her face😊 She prides herself in the care she gives him and knowing his idiosyncrasies.

if that wasn’t clear already, see series 4 and how Mrs. Hall’s relationship with Gerald played out more like a chapter of Can This Marriage Be Saved? Siegfried reacted like a spouse that didn’t know where it had all gone wrong! You’re leaving Me! Have I taken you for granted? And Audrey realizing she may like the attention of Gerald, but she loves her family. Why oh Why isn’t Sieg…er Mr. Farnon asking her to stay? Oh, so now he chooses to act selflessly …Her role is important. And what would happen to Sieg…er…Mr. Farnon? He needs her! …and one may argue she needs him😉 All that shared history that means so much to both of them.

In Series 5, we will join Siegfried and Mrs. Hall in spring 1941. Several months after she has made the choice not to leave Skeldale to start a new life with Gerald. Both single. Tending to their growing and returning Skeldale family. Siegfried now capable of washing dishes. I’m sure it will be business as usual, but oh what will those few subtle moments between them bring?
