Hello there 2023! We figured a quarter into the new year would be a ripe time for a few updates of what’s been happening and what will be happening soon over here in Streetlightville. In any other non-worldwide-pandemic sort of year, we would have announced the year’s touring schedule by now, but this year will be a bit different for us, and thereby, at least in regards to listening to and watching us mash on our respective instruments, for you as well. As most of you know, we have been, for quite some time now, working diligently and painstakingly on a new record. We are SLOWLY approaching the end of that endeavor. It’s been an entirely new experience for us, mostly working semi-remotely, but we’re well on our way to completing a hell of an album. Let’s just say it’s very, very musically dense, and we are pouring everything we’ve got into it, so it’s naturally taking much longer than we originally anticipated. It is not finished and is now by any imaginable metric long overdue, so we decided that instead of doing our usual yearly touring thing where we hit about 30 cities all around the country throughout the year, and a foreign country or two, we are taking a year off to focus almost all of our time and energy on completing the record… SORT OF. This is a very significant year for us, as many of you know, and not playing any shows at all this year just so we could finish the record would be a damn dirty low down shame. A shame, sayeth we! SO! We will be playing a small handful of special anniversary type shows spread out around the country. They will be announced in the next few weeks, along with more details. We will also be hitting up a festival or two here and/or there. We apologize in advance that we will likely not be hitting your city this year, if you’re not in one of the cities we’ll be announcing, but I think we can all agree, it’s time for some new gott-damb music. BOTAR in Boston was an absolute joy, a highlight of the year, as BOTAR shows always are. We cannot thank you all enough for coming out and packing Roadrunner, for singing and dancing along. Finally, (mostly) wooden instruments and an orchestra, playing in front of a massive, sweating, singing, screaming, dancing, celebrating, jumping, moshing, crowd surfing joyful sea of people who love music. It was what BOTAR was created to be, and last night it happened. So thank you all. Also, we maintain that we must now hold the record for largest mosh pit in front of an orchestra. Just saying. CHICAGO! TONIGHT! DETROIT! TOMORROW! CLEVELAND! SUNDAY! So, as some of you may know, an almost suspicious percentage of Streetlight guys are currently teachers in their day jobs, in their Clark Kent mode. I know, I know, total nerds. But hear us out here, you cold-hearted bastard, you. Pete, our bass playing beast is a teacher at Windsor School in NJ, a non-profit private school for students with special needs. Every year, his school raises money in order to purchase gifts for students and their families who are most in need during the holiday season. So this weekend, we will be donating $1k of screen printed poster sales to a handful of families of Pete's students. SO! Here is the art for the weekend shows, we'll have a limited number of these at the merch table each night this weekend. Like a large wooden phoenix rising up from the ashes, the punk rock orchestral magic of Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution is returning to the stage at Roadrunner in Boston on December 3, 2022. Streetlight Manifesto will once again front a god damned orchestra, with violins and French horns and timpani drums and all the nerdy instruments all of us nerdy kids played in high school, only now they’ll be played by local badass professionals with funny accents. Our BOTAR experiences have been some of the most next-level, magical, insane-dream-come-true moments we’ve shared on a stage and we knew that, despite not being sustainable after the first few shows, there had to be a way to keep the torch lit and the orchestral mayhem flowing. Well, we think we finally figured out the formula, and we’re back in the saddle for another go-round! SO, HEY! BOSTON! You didn’t think we would leave you behind this year, did you? Well you’ve gone and done it: The Starland show on December 16 has sold out. BUT WE’VE GONE AND DONE IT TOO: WE JUST ADDED A SECOND SHOW, THE NEXT DAY, SATURDAY DECEMBER 17, ALSO AT STARLAND.
