While gentle winds stir the sea air outside, Violet returns from an afternoon with Andarna to find chaos and magic blooming in their summer cottage living room. Her children—six and four—have transformed quilts, chairs, and mage lights into a shimmering dragon rider fort, where Xaden lies dramatically “wounded” and in need of rescue. Surrounded by makeshift enemy invaders, the kids are determined to defend their fortress. In the sun-scorched wilds of Briar Gulch, Violet and Xaden, a shadow-wielding outlaw, ride into town with vengeance in their saddlebags. When a corrupt land baron named Aetos threatens to bleed the town dry, the infamous duo take justice into their own hands—robbing stagecoaches, stealing back deeds, and making a public spectacle of revenge.

But in the space between shadows, lightning, and closed doors or starlit tents, Violet and Xaden burn for each other in ways that tangle sparks with kisses and shadows with pleasure. And yet, there’s something deeper on Violet's mind. What if none of this is real?

A western romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously, full of sass, seduction, signets, and the kind of justice that comes with a smirk.

The Chaos of Being Bonded

Violet Sorrengail survived the war, married to the love of her life. Now she’s trying to enjoy a few blissful nights in a cottage with her devastatingly hot husband during a diplomatic mission. There’s just one problem: their dragons are also madly in love.

Which would be sweet if they weren’t making up for lost time and purring their way through the bond with a level of sensuality that no amount of mental shielding can hope to contain. Every unfiltered wave of dragon ecstasy crashes straight into Violet and Xaden’s brains like a remarkably salacious avalanche.

The only thing to do? Embrace the chaos. If this is what post-war peace looks like? Violet will take every chaotic second of it.

But a single sparring session sends everything spiraling, and some secrets are hard to keep.

She’s not who they think she is. And neither is he.

After Violet wakes from a rather strange dream, she and Xaden set off on a quest with their dragons to right a wrong from the past. Despite a bout of empty searches and the risk of lost hope, Violet finds herself whisked away to another world where something lost is waiting to be found, and someone feared is waiting to be kind. All she needs is a little love and magic to get back what she once was afraid was gone forever. (This is a post-canon Liam Mairi fix-it fic.)
