having written led.ger's jo.ker for 8+ years, 4 of them on tumblr, cosplaying him for years and dating back to 89 being my favorite movie that i would watch over and over and over again when i was a child and scared and being bullied and alone because my parents couldn't be bothered to give a fuck to the fact i started writing arthur during a very difficult time in my life that has just gotten more and more difficult... i may love my RE muses very much and main them, but the fact of the matter? this character means so fucking much to me. despite the fucked up-ness of it... he is my comfort character to an extent. he and my w i d e have gotten me through my darkest times and i'm turning to them once again.

Arthur hadn't exactly seen the whole thing, but he'd seen enough to notice all of the blood and the man lying on the ground. He'd hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should even involve himself, but something told him that it wouldn't be fair to leave the guy alone. What if he was dying? Arthur had thought so many times that he was going to die alone on the streets or even in his apartment. So many times he's sat awake at night, wondering how long it would take for anyone to even notice he'd died. He'd decided that nobody would care until they started to smell his decaying body and surely his mother's because she wasn't going to be able to take care of herself without him. He'd long since accepted that thought, but it would never not bother him to some extent. Life was a joke. A very cruel and sadistic joke and you either learned to laugh at it or you let it consume you whole.

Running towards the man, noting the fresh blood on him, he also spotted the white, emotionless mask he wore. It was an interesting choice of a mask, that's for sure, but he wasn't about to judge. He'd come straight from a job and still hadn't washed his make-up off. However, the mask made it so he couldn't tell if the man was conscious or not.

Carefully, Arthur knelt next to the man and gently put a hand on his shoulder. Green eyes stared down at him, full of genuine concern. "Oh my god, are you okay? Should I call an ambulance?"

The questions were, at this point, more for the benefit of seeing if the man was conscious or even still alive. It wasn't as if he had a phone on him, but if he needed to run to the nearest business or payphone to call for help, he would. It was the least he could do. There had been so many times that he wished someone had done the same for him.

"Mmm." Green eyes stare at the bat, amused, with a half smirk on his painted lips. He takes a drag of his cigarette, slowly expelling the smoke from his nostrils before he lets out a low chuckle. "You never are, but it's funny that we keep winding back up in these situations, don't you think? Maybe a good long conversation is exactly what we need."

He studies the other, taking another drag. It was funny, really, the pull they seemed to have on each other. At first, he thought it was purely just because of who he was and the Batman's drive for vengeance and locking up all criminals. But the more time went on and the more he came face to face with the man... He had to suspect there was something else there-- a bigger pull between them.

He quirks a brow, smoke exhaling through his nose again as he lets out a full laugh and grins wide. "What's even funnier is, if you really stop and think about it, bats... We both stand for the same thing. We do. You just don't get it."
