Extending the timetable is a tactical fuck-you because the Women’s World Cup is fading into the rear-view and the men’s is going to start hyping up. Unless a woman is elected President...

So US Soccer have refused to step back control over NWSL (and paying $47m over the next 9 years- compared with $20 million over the last 6 seasons) but agreed to extend contract for an extra year to allow time to negotiate and will provide an extra $1m in funding. The $1m is pathetic given what they have made off the USWNT this year but taking time to figure out a decent plan isn't a bad idea imo if they can't come to an agreement
