Hi! i would like to put my two own thoughts into it!

I also want to make clear my intention isn't to antagonize anyone whose personal opinions align with this! And i want to put i did not agree with what kamado did and it doesn't excuse his actions.

I have more under the cut in case this might be to much for some. also spoilers!

Kamado's backstory might not be the whole "bidoff killed my grandma, now all pokemon are bad." it might be worse. If you go to his desk there's a picture of him and woman standing side by side. There's a theory that the woman might be his wife. We also know that there home was completely destroyed by pokemon, which is very traumatic in on its own, and its VERY subtle, but he mostly likely has PTSD. As someone who deals with that a lot, when Kamado acted out the way he did (which im not agreeing with what he did fyi) but with the lack of therapy, and how people in leadership cannot go and just trust people willy-nilly, he handled that both the best he knew, and in a really bad way as well. In a sense he was panicking while trying to remain calm. Also, would you keep someone who potentially put you're entire village in danger? Would you risk it if an outside, who doesn't remember who they are and is really good at catching and battling with Pokemon, in your village when they were the ones working directly with pseudo gods? Naturally if you do that would be really irresponsible to do.

However, we need to remember that the hero came from the from the rift, and i had to replay the game to see if there was any sign that as we moved forward in the story the rift got smaller. But it didn't. but it didn't get bigger either.

There's also the scene right before and after we quell Avalugg where even Proffessor Laventon is questioning if this is a good idea. so it's to be implied that alot of people are doubting us, the hero. not just Kamado.

After we get home and have the talk with Kamado he goes on stating something (phrased more like an inquiry tbh) that the rift should be gone soon. Implying that he did have hopes we would have closed the rift. The next morning the sky is "bleeding" and the only person (at the time with the knowledge they had before realizing volo was behind it all) who was dealing with the rift was, well, us. So with what he knew (or lack of knowledge he had along with the lack of science as well) we can safely assume after he put his trust in us, this happened and now his entire village is in danger. He couldn't afford anyone to get hurt or killed again. So he had to do preventive measures, but he unfortunately went to the extremes, and kicked us out. Before he did, he told us to prove our self. Part of me thinks he still had hopes for us, and hopes for us to succeed and prove him wrong.

And we did. then he owned up to what he did.

But let's also talk about how this was foreshadowed from the start. and how this was most likely going to happen as he had told us numerous times he would whatever it takes to keep his home and his people safe.

So while i understand why everyone feels betrayed, besides being able to quell the Lords and catch pokemon, we really didnt do much to prove we had nothing to do with the rift as we kept pushing to stop the lords.

and i feel as if a lot of people dont really talk about the fact that Kamado's entire thing is 'youre on thin ice, one fuck up and your gone' because that was also what Cyllene said as well. that's been a thing since the beginning. It wasn't JUST kamado, even Laventon had the quiet feeling of doubt. and the villagers, as much as they asked for help, also all came from a place where they lost their home.

Also i dont know if anyone remember the scene where after you beat the post game/ massive mass outbreak quest kamado goes and talks to cyllenne about working with Proff. Laventon to learn more about pokemon so he can have a better understanding of them. That implies that he wants to live without fear of pokemon (which good for him because he's trying to do better esp with the fact that he probs has trauma from pokemon)

So yeah, kamado fucked up, but theres a lot to it. But he owned up to it.

My apologies if this seems rushed or rather unorganized, I just wanted explain why he did what he did, not to antagonize anyone.

a little side note, when Kamado bowed after we defeated him at the temple there's a name for that bow! It's called Dogeza (土下座) and is an element of traditional Japanese etiquette which involves kneeling directly on the ground and bowing to prostrate oneself while touching one's head to the floor. It is used to show deference to a person of higher status, as a deep apology or to express the desire for a favor from said person. So do with that information as well! :D

The more I think about the Kamado ordeal the more I hate this guy

Like Cyllene is a very strict, no nonsense kind of woman surviving in a harsh land with an asshole boss yet she’s also in a way very protective and proud of the Survey Corps and then everybody else in the village just likes you, and the clans also like you and trust you and Cyllene is proud of you and what work you’ve done

And then after you do everything Kamado tells you to do he’s like hmm. This is all your fault, get outta my village literal child

Kicking his ass isn’t enough

Cue Hisuian S/O and a pissed off eldritch Ingo and Emmet determining the best way to punish and end this foolish mortal

#please dont harass me #however how people reacted to it is understand able and their anger is justified #but he did what he knew and could do at the time #which tbh wasnt good #fear will do that to a man #he could have handled it better #kamado fucked up but its actively shown that he is trying to make up for his mistakes and grow and i truly wish people would see that :C #pokemon #pokemon legends arceus
