It's weird to me how many writers square the circle of "we want our protagonists to be part of a larger organizations so they aren't just randos running around on their own account" with "we distrust all locuses of national or international power and think our viewers do too" with "I've got it, we'll just create a top-secret, independent organization outside of the chain of command!"

The MIB, the Kingsmen, the Impossible Mission Force, Tom Clancy's books from the 90s, a whole bunch of others come to mind. And it's like. Every time I encounter a piece of media that goes this route, I just think "these are authoritarian criminal terrorist organizations. You get that what's you've written, right? Because it doesn't seem like you do."

One of the hardest parts of writing gay anything is that they (often) use the same pronouns. Balancing names and pronouns so that I'm not overusing either of them is maybe THE hardest part of writing for me, because if you use 'he' too many times in a row you'll lose track of who's doing what, but too many names is repetitive and awkward to read!

Some character designs with some…atypical color choices? I guess. I don’t know what’s going on in that area.

This is Nimona and her supervillain friend (He doesn’t have a name yet, I’m working on that). Nimona is his sidekick/squire, they’re like the Batman and Robin of slightly Medieval villains, but she’s actually way more evil than him. He does what he does to make a point, and he doesn’t really want anyone get hurt - Nimona just gets a kick out of destroying stuff.

I’m going to attempt to make a two page comic with them? We’ll see how this goes.
