When will it end? when is it ever going to be over? Ma'khia Bryant was murdered a few days after derek chavin was convicted for the murder of George Floyd, derek chavin being prosecuted was meant to be the change, it ended up being an empty promise.
The cycle continues, a black person gets murdered by a police officer because the white police officer racially profiled the black person. Then the second the Black murder victims heart stops beating they are stamped with blame, "she had a knife." "it was an accident." "well he was on drugs." "he was resisting arrest." They are carved with words of hate.
Staying silent is choosing a side, the lack of fighting for Black liberation is fighting against Black liberation. May the Black murder victims rest in power.
Keep the next generation of Black children safe.

sigh. they’re going to use the fact that ma’khia had a knife to justify that officer killing her. first of all there are ways to apprehend someone without shooting them. there are even ways to shoot someone without it being fatal, 4 shots was NOT necessary. and for the people who are like “but she was gonna stab the other girl” PLEASE stop acting like you care, you do not give a fuck about that other black girl. you’re just using her to justify ma’khia’s death and it’s SICK, y’all can literally go to hell. she had a knife bc she was defending herself from being jumped which STILL doesn’t warrant shooting a CHILD 4 fucking times. every time a black person dies at the hands of the police y’all try and vilify the victim and i’m sick of it. this coming just after the news of the jury’s verdict on the derek chauvin trial? never a fucking day off.

Lack of opinion on racial issues as a white person is choosing a side, choosing the side of an opressor. The absence of challenging racist beliefs and systemic racism is what gets black people murdered.
Daunte Wright was a black man who was shot by a white police officer who claimed she thought her taser was a gun. The white police officer had years of work experience in the police force aswell as training other police officers. She pulled out her gun and shouted "Taser, taser, taser." To even feel the need to use her taser shows that she had a racial bias and was stereotyping Daunte Write from the moment she saw he was black. The assumption that she made that Daunte Wright was a danger to her cost Daunte his life.
After the Daunte Wrights murder white people will/have been trying to strip Daunte Wright of his humanity and brand him as dangerous, just like the white police officer. Stripping the humanity for Daunte Wright, taking away from the fact he was a son, a friend, and a dad and watering down his existence to "resisting police officers."
We still need to fight for Black liberation.
