Over the Garden Wall

This show is grossly underrated. If you’re a fan of Star vs the Forces of Evil or Gravity Falls, I legitimately believe you would enjoy this. The series consists of 10 chapters or episodes (a short saga, but a memorable one) and the episodes are all about 15 minutes - ish. I watched this on Halloween night (and finished it slightly after) and I was SHOOK. It was amazing!! The characters, the plot, everything. First off, let me introduce the plot and characters.

The show focuses on 3 main characters, Wirt, (the older brother, worrisome, follower) Greg, (the younger brother, naive, fun loving kid) and Beatrice, (the cynical, secretive, blue bird) and an assortment of side characters and antagonists. On an adventure, brothers Wirt and Greg become lost in the Unknown, a strange forest adrift in time. A wise old woodsman and bluebird Beatrice help them find their way. Along the way, Wirt’s thoughts envelope him, while the wonder of the surroundings preoccupy Greg, who wanders off time and time again during the mini - series. The main antagonist is the Beast, a mysterious creature that seems to somehow be connected to the Woodsman.

I can honestly say I enjoyed this series quite a bit and it gave me Gravity Falls vibes with the art and plot. I‘d give this show a 10/10 for its art style, story telling, and characters. I would honestly reccomend it! I think it’s a Halloween/October must. I regret not watching this show earlier earlier, as it had been in my list of things to watch for quite a while, and since it’s so short, it’s a good Halloween night watch.
