Juno remained silent for a good moment, in contemplation. Then sliding into her mother's arms and wrapping around her tightly. "It won't happen again, I swear. But what good is it if you won't give me a chance to redeem myself?"
"Juno," Belinda said, going down on one knee to look her daughter in the eye. She put her hands on her shoulders, squeezing slightly. "I trust you. I love you. You are my partner in this. But … in this case, trust has nothing to do with it. I trust you. I trust you to know your own limits. No, what factors the most in this is … fear. Fear. I’m afraid to lose you.”

"I understand, mother. I really do." She lowered her head, drying her hands with a towel. She looked up at her mother, lip in a pout.
"But I want to fight beside you. I miss fighting beside you. My injuries are almost completely healed. I can move just as swiftly as I did before, if not swifter. I've been trained to come back after this, and all I've done is get stronger from the experience. Please!"
Juno was eleven. Not even. And yet, she was able to take the breath out of Bel’s chest with a few words, barely even uttered.
"You were stabbed through the chest," she began, quietly, remembering that day. That horrible, wretched day. When the Heretic …
"You almost died," Belinda said, a little firmly. "I just … I don’t want you out there, until you’re ready. I mean, absolutely ready."

"Mostly training or hanging with Cherise. Father taught me a lot that day. I must hold on to what is important." Juno said quietly, finishing off the cookies and then moving to wash her hands of crumbs in the sink. "Have you been out on patrol lately? Maybe I could come...?"
The last part was barely a whisper as she turned towards her mother.
"Sounds perfectly rational to me," she remarked, wit a shrug. "Aside from not climbing on the counters for Alice’s sweets, what else have you been up to? You’ve been quiet for some time."

"Of course not! That would be an atrocious. They are, however, mixed in there with one another. I prefer the snicker doodles. Raisins are too chewy and chocolate chip is only sweet in some places."
Juno felt her mother touch her head, and though her posture was originally stiff, it began to loosen up as she became relaxed.
"All at once?"
One hand rested on Juno’s head, feeling dark hair beneath her fingers. It’d start to curl soon.. Juno had her father’s ethnic hair, but only when the weather started to warm up.
"I’m not sure if I’d like a raisin chocolate chip snicker doodle."

"Raisin, chocolate chip, and snicker doodle." Juno replied, then beginning to munch on the cookies she had grabbed.
snarkybird replied to your post:
"Yes ma’am." She took two, and then put it back, beckoning for her mother to set her down. "Thank you."
"What sort does she have in there?" Bel grunted, setting Juno back on her feet. "I haven’t checked them in some time."

"Impossible; I'm Robin." the small girl snapped, flashing the 'R' half hidden beneath her cape.
Dick tilted his head, raising an eyebrow under his mask “M’Robin? From Gotham. Who’re you?”

"I won't go away again," she was starting to sob a little, "I promise."
“I missed you too,” she said, softly, holding to her daughter.

She says nothing, just staring at him and squinting. Finally, she speaks. "Who are you?"

Juno said nothing for a moment, before wrapping her arms around her mother and hugging her tightly. "I'm sorry. I missed you." she sniffed.
“Did you think I’d turn you away?” She asked, tilting her head.

Juno gave a small smile, obviously relieved.
snarkybird replied to your post: “Mother. I’m home.”
“I realize. And I am finished searching.” She looks up at her sadly after a moment.”Am I still allowed to be your Robin?”
” … Always,” Bel said, resting a hand on her head.

"Yes." she said again, softly. "Do it quickly though, I expect a nice meal after I'm finished bathing." she made her way from the kitchen and then to the bathroom, feeling rather smug with herself anyways, despite her lingering hurt from when she originally left.
“Oh, well heaven forbid that you smell of the lower class, Juno…” Chel rolled her eyes, and followed her sister in the direction of the kitchen. “Do you want me to make you something to eat?”

"Yes. I learned everyone in Gotham is indeed as stupid as I thought them to be." she shoved Chel away a bit more, then going to walk to the kitchen. "I still have baths to take. I reek of the lower class."
“Hey,” objected the older female, staring into Juno’s eyes. “Who said no one noticed? We respected your need for space. Should anything bad have started happening, you wouldn’t have been alone. It sounds like you learned some important things.”

“Really? Has it been that long?” Chel tugged Juno close again. “Much longer than that, and we’d have to go looking for you. So,what were you doing this whole time?”
"Yes." she said quietly, "Not that anyone had noticed. I was trying to figure out a way to survive on my own, but as a child I have found it to be harder than I thought, especially without money."
