From the latest interview from Isayama (thank you @yaboylevi for your hard work with the translation!^^) I thought it might be interesting to share some of the onomatopoeia word play as spotted by eagle-eyed japanese that I’ve seen. (Mainly from discussions on this site)

カツオ katsuo (ch 102)
I suppose this is the one that started it off for me since I started off late in the series. l’m not sure if it’s supposed to have a special hidden meaning, but katsuo is bonito or skipjack tuna, it is an essential ingredient in japanese fish soup stock, the beige shavings on japanese food and the sashimi dish where the fish is seared just on the outside.

ペリエ Perrier (ch 107)
Self-explanatory XD (Or maybe not, on reflection I’ve decided to add that it’s a French brand of natural bottled mineral water)

ゴンゾオ gonzo- (ch 107)
Taking the explanation from a wiki:
In police terminology is jargon for a police officer who does not work despite having experience and ability, or, from the english gonzo, slang for an eccentric or foolish person.

エドシーラン Ed Sheeran (chapter 108)
I think Isayama really hit peak with this one XDD I wonder whether this was the point where he might have thought that he was going a bit far XDD

パシリ pashiri (ch 113)
A pashiri is a person who runs errands for somebody. The only one I spotted myself XD Really appropriate here

パシリ pashiri again and パンツ pants (ch 114)
I think pants primarily tends to mean underwear?, and then shorts and/or trousers, depending on the context in which it’s used XD

チャカカーン Chaka Khan (ch 118)
Straight off the wiki:
Yvette Marie Stevens (born March 23, 1953), better known by her stage name Chaka Khan, is an American singer, songwriter and musician. Her career has spanned nearly five decades, beginning in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the funk band Rufus. Khan received public attention for her vocals and image. Known as the Queen of Funk,[1] Khan was the first R&B artist to have a crossover hit featuring a rapper, with “I Feel for You” in 1984.[2] Khan has won ten Grammys and has sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.[3]
She’s still going strong omg Also re the Ed Sheeran comment, apparently not XD

I’m still waiting on these two shards’ contexts to be revealed. I feel like these might help understand Eren’s thought-process more.
Showing an unknown kid so late in the game... at first I thought it might have come from previous shifters, but the fez hints more at something that happened at Fort Slavia, when Eren mingled as an Eldian soldier.

And then, you see people catching up to the anime nodding at Armin’s speech in season 1′s Female Titan fight in Stohess. About ‘giving up one’s humanity for victory’. I wonder how they’ll react to season 4 Eren.

I’M SO FUCKING MAD RIGHT NOW LIKE THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE BUT NO YOU ARMIN SOMEHOW FORGOT YOU EVEN SAID THIS JUST LIKE THIS STUPID DUMBASS FANDOM UGHSAJHA
#fandom salt#armin salt#kinda?#I don't blame Armin for changing character tbf#it's been a few years#and that can happen#but I can't take it seriously when people mentions Eren killed civilians look how bad he is now#when he already killed civilians in Stohess?#only it was for the 'good guys' SC side so it's fine I guess#Armin and Mikasa sure didn't mind these deaths at the time#on the other hand#they prob got annoyed because they got dragged by Eren to Liberio#but given they did the same thing to the MPs in Stohess...#Ironic let's say#'throw away your humanity Eren!'#'No wait not when it doesn't serve us!'#snk manga

I’ve been thinking about that flower symbolism in 122, not only in this chapter, but also for scenes from the previous seasons and from the manga too. In time as I can remember, there were shown scenes of flowers, I can’t recall them all, but they were in fight scenes, outside and inside the walls, when Levi and Zeke were injured, it just makes me want to read the manga and see the anime again from the beginning just to observe everything and unfold parts of the story. Also I think I posted this on my insta stories a few months ago, that it seemed to me like Ymir was waiting to be saved by someone, and that she is sealed inside the paths.
As I said many times, everything that is shown, has a meaning. And I want to share and explain my thoughts for these flowers of how they are connected.
I especially remember back in s2, where Reiner was escaping with Bertolt when they captured Eren, there were also some flower scenes that made me wonder why they showed them to us. Why while they were being chased and saying desperate words, why at that time we saw scenes of flowers. Since 122 came out, it kind of made it clear to me.
Ymir was everywhere, she was seeing everything.
In 122, her blood fell on a flower as she was escaping, that flower was connected to the earth, “Ymir touched the source of all living matter” as Kruger said. Through the years, the blood of many subjects of Ymir, was split around the earth. Through wars, injuries, inheritance, her blood was flowing everywhere, the Titan shifters are parts of her after all.
Also remember Bertolt’s words? Which was also a part of the chase scenes with the flower scenes, personally I will never forget them: “Someone.. please someone.. I’m begging you.. someone find us..”
I believe Ymir was there also seeing this, and was feeling the same way. This I connect with the words Eren told to her, that she was waiting for someone for 2000 years. She was waiting to be found, by Eren.
Bertolt was crying while saying these words, Ymir started crying when Eren told her these words. Everything is connected, all her subjects suffer, as she is suffering and want to be saved by someone.
She is neither a slave, neither a god, she is just like all those people who happened to inherit a Titan power. She is just a human being, needed to be saved, and so is for everyone else that have the same need in this story, to be saved by someone from this curse.

Hi! about last chapter, what do you think about Zeke's behavior? do you think he was being ignorant or he didn't see her past at all? because i don't think if he saw her past he would behave that way,he still didn't change his mind and still ordered her to do what he told her to do especially, out of all people,he must know the most what it is like to be used and also I want to ask how did you feel about eren this chapter?
Hello!
To be honest, I didn’t think anything in particular, I was too focused on Eren and Ymir!
If I had to take a guess, I don’t think he saw or knows about Ymir’s past. I believe Eren saw it for 2 reasons: he touched Ymir, and he has a special connection with her, as proven by Eren stating that someone (and at this point it is pretty much confirmed it was Ymir - or maybe her unconscious wish to be saved) had guided him there.
Maybe I didn’t think much of Zeke’s behavior because I read it with the assumption that he doesn’t know about Ymir. He was unsure before, when Eren asked him who the girl was, and had just guessed it was Ymir because “Who else could it be?”. If Zeke had seen those memories before, he would have known for sure. If he had seen them while Eren was seeing them, he would’ve faltered. But again, I believe only Eren was allowed access those memories.
Another clue is Eren directly replying to the King’s words about continuing the titans’ supremacy, to which Eren said “Enough!”, he’s going to destroy such a bloodstained reality. But Zeke was confused, as if he didn’t understand why Eren was suddenly screaming about destroying this world.
So, considering what happened in chapter 121, it just makes sense for Zeke to still be desperate to stop Eren, as per Grisha’s plea and his own personal feelings (Zeke has lived more than 10 years believing in this plan). Everything probably happened in a few seconds, anyway. What happened to him and the new revelations and moments he experienced with Grisha are things that would take time to be properly processed. Something they clearly don’t have, now.
As for Eren…well, I couldn’t have been prouder. I got really emotional because of the freeing words he told Ymir. I felt lighter too, after feeling so hopeless and horrified and angry at experiencing Ymir’s life.
It was not specified if the awakening of the Colossals is something that happened as per Ymir’s will or if it was Eren’s, for that we will have to wait. So, for now, I’m appreciating full force this glimpse of Eren’s true character. Someone who inspires others - enslaved by their reality and other people who took away their freedom - to fight against their shackles. Empathetic of their pain. It’s always been like this, and I’m glad he’s still the same person in this regard. It’s beautiful.
He was not wrong when he said that he has always been like this. Always fighting for other people’s rights to live a free life, always following freedom, always opposing the oppressors.

how do we feel about eren now?
The same as always??? I still love him to pieces. Nothing changed and I don’t get the people who act all surprised when Eren does or say something every single month.
Anon if you don’t mind I’ll use your question to rant a little about the chapter, bc I’m busy and knowing me I’ll never find time to write a separated post.
I already shared my interpretation of what’s going on. The world that started when Ymir touched that thing has to end, bc as Frieda said humans aren’t capable of wielding such a power. But instead of just using that as a justification for dying and erase all responsability, Eren and now Ymir have chosen to fight. As long as Ymir is connected to paths all eldians will remain attached too. And as long as the Titans exist into this world, that power will just continue to be misused. So that power has to go. The world the people wielding that power have created is a nightmare, starting 2000 years ago with that disgusting piece of shit, to Marley in the current time.
Eren has said so since like chapter 2. Im going to end the titans. He repeated those same words to Zeke back in Marley: I will end this cursed history. And now he reiterated it in front of Ymir: I want to put an end to that kind of world.
But I guess some people just prefer other alternatives and have other views about what’s happening with Eren. That’s fair.
Nothing I’ve seen in the last chapters has changed my mind tho.
