Posts about my life as an Eeveelutions-focused pokémon trainer who lives in Paldea. /uj means that I (person outside my RP character) am speaking (comes from CJ groups), as I only participate on r/pokemedia, there may be inaccuracies.

every once in a while we get a cool mutation in at the shelter! this pawmi has an irregular electrical sac on her cheek. in the wild, this could make it hard to survive- but she'll make a great pet for someone. we ended up naming her nemo :]

"I want to challenge the league but I only want to train x kind of pokemon"
Then do it. It'll be harder for sure, but you can do it.
"I want to be a pokemon trainer and travel the world but I'm an older person"
Then do it. it's never too late to pick up pokemon training, you're never to old to learn a new skill.
"I want to go on my Pokemon journey but I have a disability"
You can still do it. It'll be different, and in many cases harder, but it can be done- hell, your pokemon might even be able to help you.
"I want to go on a Pokemon journey but I don't want to go alone."
Then bring friends with you- or make friends. There's groups now on swablusky I saw just the other day for matching up with other trainers in your experience range to travel together.
"I want to go on a Pokemon journey but I don't have a rival."
You don't need one. If you have that kind of self-motivation to carry yourself further, you don't NEED a rival.
Pokemon training, pokemon journeys, pokemon contests, all of these things are for everyone. Your experience might be different or harder or strange to someone else. But that doesn't mean it's any less than anyone else's. If you're thinking about taking that step into the world of pokemon companionship? Do it. This is your sign to give it a try.
I'm rooting for you. 👍

Am I the only one here who basically never uses a pokeball?
I mean, I have them for emergencies but the idea of keeping my pokemon in stasis for any length of time is repulsive

how fast are jolteon normally?
< Video: The video starts with Maria behind the phone giggling, trying to focus the camera. Blue Jolteon™️ is standing on a table... Maria manages to stop giggling, before whispering "go"... and then the Jolteon isn't there, seemingly teleporting, if not for the plastic cup of water that has been knocked absolutely flying across the room. A pokemon centre nurse, the one that watches the blue Jolteon, walks in, talking for a little bit to herself, seemingly completely unaware of the speed this weird little critter can output. The phone is dropped accidentally, caught by Amy's hand before it hits the ground, and the video ends. >

Another year, another instance of me wondering “why the hell do humans shoot off fireworks that are this loud”.
I can only presume it’s to celebrate my partner’s birthday and for no other reason whatsoever. Everybody must know that Tula was born on January 1st.

the nurses at pokemon centers are truly some of the most important people in the world imo, criminally underappreciated job. they make using those healing machines look so easy! i realized a while ago though, i have never once seen a man behind the counter at the pokemon center. do they only hire women? or is it just an extreme pink collar situation? (literally in this case, i guess?)
it very much has to do with stereotypes of what kinds of jobs are suitable for women versus for men. for a very long time, being a veterinarian was a job open only to men (women were thought to be unable to handle both the sight of gore and the physical aspect of handling distressed pokemon). when women first began helping in pokemon care, they were relegated to the role of nurse.
this role was further solidified during world war II, when a lot of veterinarians were pulled from their practices to tend to pokemon that were serving in the war effort. with the advent of recent technology that made healing pokemon easier to do with less training than before, and a lack of doctors on hand to care for sick pokemon at home, nurses began taking over a lot more of the work than they used to. the "nurse joy" actually began as a way of encouraging women to be trained in pokemon care! the image of a pink-haired nurse, working alongside a pokemon like chansey or audino, was designed to recruit women to help fill the gap in pokemon medicine both at home and on the front lines, where pokemon were getting injured faster than veterinarians could take care of them.
nowadays, women become full veterinarians all the time, and you'll see male nurses and pokemon center techs as well! these days, the entire field of pokemon medicine is now very much female-dominated. nurses at pokemon centers are still symbolically called "joy" as part of their job title to honor the original nurse joy initiative. pink hair isn't a requirement, but a lot of nurses dye their hair pink as a sort of initiation!
