would you be willing to publish a sort of base psd that you use for your gifs? i'm just terrible with editing on my own and i feel like i could pick up on the suggestions that you deny / pass on (only the ones where the fcs aren't problematic, i tend to ban the fcs that you say are problematic bc i trust you lolol) if there was a psd i could use first.

sure :) i am not going to make a whole post for it but ill link it in the source if you think it would be helpful! just keep in mind that when using the channel mixers to be light-handed with them (aka don't have it on max opacity unless the scene is really saturated) because they do wash out certain colors completely + other adjustments like selective color + color balance are sometimes better for targeted color correction!

that's so interesting!!! how do your channel mixers work? if you don't mind me asking of course!

no worries!! im really terrible at explaining stuff but i will try my best :)

the way mine are set up is to offset certain colors (i.e. like a blue channel mixer removes blue and adds green + red, which makes footage more yellow) and then i can mess around with the opacity of the adjustment to remove more or less of the color. they're all premade (aka a part of my base psd), so i only have to adjust the opacity when coloring and dont mess with the channel mixers as much. it's a little more technical compared to selective color/color balance which i know a lot of people use and requires you to play around with the sliders a bit soo it can be a bit challenging at first

usually a hot mess 😅 i typically start with a very simple base psd that has channel mixers for each color (i.e. red, yellow, green, blue) to help balance out the tones. and then usually for each individual project, i'll add more adjustment layers to it (i.e color balance or selective color if the footage is REALLY harsh) either as i go or by scene :) it kinda makes sense to my brain but idk if other people work like that
