Me when I catch myself thinking "I wonder what it's like to be chosen by somebody" but then I remember my best friend chooses to be my best friend and my mutuals choose to follow me and the minimum wage employee chooses to give me sincere kindness that I remember years later because I was going through a hard time and it meant a lot

the secret to organising any kind of trip with your friends is to become the benevolent dictator. do NOT wait for everyone to provide a consensus on things before you book anything. do it and then ask for feedback after. do not ask people what they would like to do just tell them what is happening and let them all nod along like the sheep they are. this is the ONLY way to coordinate a group of adults in their 20s/30s

I still can't believe we've just stopped talking about covid. it's so surreal to watch it destroy people's lives and most people have no idea what's happening. I can't believe we're putting kids in the position of getting covid over and over again.
if you have new weird symptoms or conditions popping up seemingly out of nowhere, it could very well be as a result of having had covid. if you're collapsing into bed at the end of your workweek, bone tired, it could be because of having had covid.
it causes multi systemic issues, damages blood vessels and the brain, triggers the development of chronic conditions and autoimmune diseases and more. pots and mcas are really common. symptoms can look a lot of ways because the impact of covid is multi systemic.
I know this is alarming. but I gotta say, having had postviral illness for many years, getting started on treating these things has improved my quality of life significantly. there is no cure for a lot of it, but life can still be made better with the right medicine.

Admitting that the shifty fish has managed to evade detection by mankind for thousands of years, researchers at the University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology discovered Wednesday that the coelacanth successfully faked its own extinction in order to escape a massive gambling debt. “For years we thought all but one related species was gone from this planet forever, but after recent discoveries, we now know it had gone into hiding in the Indian Ocean because it was in deep with some pretty rough customers,” said research professor Marcus Zambrano, who claimed the rare fish only resurfaced recently after it had built a new life for itself and was sure the heat had died down.

When you consider that Gollum is an extremely old man who's spent most of his life in solitary confinement with heroin being injected directly into his brain every day, he's really not that unreasonable
