Holding someone's heart very gently as it beats, it's beats being thrown off at your initial touch but calming down as you keep your hand still right under their apex.. While your hand is on their thigh rubbing around sensually and feeling their pump speed up right in your hands, occasionally bringing your other hand up to their chest, then going back up and down... then lifting your hand away just to tease their heart, tracing your fingers on their delicate veins without putting much pressure on them, admring the work of art that's their source of life, enough to send waves of pleasure right through their whole body - as a plus, even those little touches are enough to make it jump a couple beats off, which adds more to their excitement... You both know that their life is pretty much in your hands... you could very easily stop their heart if you wanted to. But the trust and security between you and the other just makes this even more erotic...

hearts are so adorable in every possibe way. they make me so emotional just by existing and doing their job. you may look at me funny right now and think i'm insane (maybe i am), but... i mean, what's not cute about a little thumping thing living in your chest and making pretty sounds that give you life? are you telling me it isn't sweet that it can feel all of your emotions and beats accordingly to them? and the way it gets so fast when you're sick, just to help you fight through it? the way you can physically feel it aching when you're badly hurt by something...? the heart is so sensitive, so fragile. it's sentient, and many people don't acknowledge that.
i think about this quite often but today it's just tearing me apart, and i feel like i will explode if i don't type it out. i'm listening to my own heart as i write this, and even though i'm familiar with her every sound, i just can't help but feel emotional hearing her little valves opening and closing, feeling her thudding against the inside of my chest, seeing the diaphragm of my steth move softly with each heartbeat... gosh, she's starting to beat so hard. she knows i'm thinking about her. my beloved little heart, always there, always pumping. she means so much to me. i wish i could give her a hug.
oh whoopsie, i may have lost sleep over this... sigh. i need snuggles :(

Ughhh I just. cardiophilia is very platonic/comforting to me. It's hard when I really want to share this part of me w my friends, but im always terrified of being turned away, or maybe them viewing it as weird, when It's like. A way of affection/connection sorta..
Just listening to a heartbeat is so special, and never fails to make this warm feeling spread through me, just being so tied to life, our emotions. Something we can't control, or hide away. Each beat being numbered only makes me appreciate the sound even more <3
Just cuddling with a friend and resting my head over their chest or vice versa I think would actually fix 99% of my problems

When did you realize you were into heart stuff?
god.. uh... somewhere around 5-7 where heart sounds already had me blushy, but it got solidified when i found my grandma's stethoscope in her bedroom and used it on myself.. uh.. hearing my own heart and being enthralled by the sound definitely changed my brain chemistry..

Pokemon Cardiology
This is something I wrote up a long time ago, a headcanon on how pokemon hearts work. Reblogs and such appreciated!
Normal: These types are known for amazing stamina, and this is because of their exceptionally large hearts. The vital organ is even larger than their lungs and takes up a majority of their chest space. Their heartbeat is audible to anybody around them when excited enough, and they can normally keep up a task for very long before exhausting themselves.
Fire: A Charmander’s tail flame signals the strength of its life force, so it’s very obvious that their heat is tied to their circulatory system. The heat of their hearts can range from comfortably warm to searing hot and glowing. These organs pump very thoroughly to where not a single drop of blood stays inside for long before being pumped out. If any blood stays inside their heart and cools, it’s a sign the Pokemon is sick or dying.
Grass: Grass-type Pokemon are, logically, partially plants if not mostly. Alongside their blood vessels are chlorophyll-filled green vessels to energize the Pokemon through photosynthesis. When a grass-type is in the sun, their heart can slow down to a full halt as long as their chlorophyll can fuel them enough from the sunlight.
Water: Water-type Pokemon are always moist and slippery on the inside, and sometimes outside depending on the species! This is because their organs are thinner, yet very rubbery. Their hearts are usually compared to multi-chambered water balloons; the organ looks like a deflated balloon without blood, yet inflates right up with every contraction. To make up for blood demand, their hearts inflate further to coincide with a higher heart rate. While extremely rare, it has been documented that a water-type Pokemon’s heart can pump enough to fill their entire chest cavity. Their other organs also pulse with their heartbeat and intensify with the higher rate. People normally like to relax by listening to a water-type’s heart, as their blood flow is very audible and comparable to a running lake.
One important thing to note is how their body filters wastes. While they do have the traditional excretory systems that humans and Pokemon normally have, water types also have to be regularly in contact with water to filter every bit of waste out of their bloodstream. If they’re not properly hydrated, their heart will gradually fill with a black mud-like substance that keeps the organ from properly beating. It should go without saying for any Pokemon, but making sure they have full access to water is ideal.
Electric: Electric-type Pokemon have highly insulated organs so they can store and control their internal electricity. An electric-type’s heart has an electric impulse system that sustains itself, and as such will continue to beat even past its owner’s death. The only way it’ll stop is if an outside source drains the electricity. As macabre as it is, this helps keep the body warm and is very helpful for donating its organs if needed. Sometimes the heart may also be used as natural generators.
Ice: Ice-type Pokemon have a similar biology to water-types, but they don’t need regular access to water. Their hearts are similar to the balloon-like ones of the water-types, but their insides are also partially frozen. While they can create their own cold, it would make them more comfortable if they’re in a somewhat chilled environment often. Their body “warmth” works opposite of most creatures where they’re naturally cold, and exciting them only makes them colder. If their insides “melt,” they will get sick.
Rock: As strange as it may seem, rock-type Pokemon have organs. However, unsurprisingly, their organs are almost as rock solid as their bodies tend to be. It’s a good thing they don’t normally get sick, because surgery would essentially require chiseling their bodies. A rock-type heart is single-chambered as their blood is about as solid as possible. Listening to it is like hearing somebody push a boulder along dirt.
Ground: Ground-type Pokemon are still almost as tough as rock-types, but they are more organic. Their body all around feels like a sort of sand bag because, well… that’s pretty much what their blood is like. Their blood is essentially red mud that slides throughout their body with every beat. Their hearts have multiple chambers, but their beats are all murmurs similar to the sound of moving sand.
Steel: Steel-type Pokemon might be similar to rock on the outside, but their organs are actually softer. Their blood has an extremely high iron content, which lends to their tough bodies and metallic abilities. They also don’t usually get sick, as surgery would require cutting through metal.
Fighting: Fighting-type hearts tend to be described as “fighting spirit personified.” They are extremely muscular pumps that never rest, and even listening to one beat will inspire others to put in their best effort. Only the best will beat inside of a fighting type, because anything unfit to pump for them will strain or even rupture if they overexert themselves.
Flying: Flying-type Pokemon have some control over how their hearts beat. They can consciously suggest for their heart to speed up or rest as their heart’s rhythm affects how they fly. If they want a leisurely glide, they encourage their hearts to relax. If they want to soar, they make it race. This is how they add force to the wind around them for their attacks, as well.
Psychic: Psychic-types obviously require the strength of their brains for their abilities, and to ensure they don’t strain their most important organ, they need a strong heart to keep it well-fed with oxygen. As a result, their hearts are enlarged to roughly the same size as their lungs and beat at a high rate. The organ will always start pounding when they use their psychic abilities, but doing it often makes for good cardio exercises!
Dark: Dark-type Pokemon actually have smaller hearts with a darker coloration, and beat at a slower rate. As cheesy as it sounds, it is how they power their dark abilities. At least they can still be cheerful, and listening to their heart can be very calming.
Poison: Poison-type Pokemon have purple-tinted organs, as some of their venom flows through their blood. As a result, they’re practically inedible as well as unable to be poisoned themselves. The antidote item is partially made from poison-type hearts to create an anti-venom spray.
Bug: Bug-type Pokemon normally have segmented or tube-like hearts that run along their body just under their exoskeleton. As a result, it’s very easy to hear or feel their heartbeats at any part of their body.
Ghost: Ghost-types don’t actually need a heart. Considering, well… they’re undead on some level. While some don’t have organs at all, there are a good amount that have physical bodies and thus a heart. One could stop their heart or even take it out without any repercussions to the Pokemon… although they might get mad.
Dragon: Dragon-type Pokemon are typically some of the fiercest creatures around. Their abilities come right from intense primal energy that is always stored within them. As a result, their hearts are always booming, valves like slamming drums and blood flow like raging tidal waves. Somebody listening to a dragon-type’s heart would normally feel very protected, or very afraid.
Fairy: Fairy-type Pokemon are among the hardest to understand. It’s not that they’re very complex, but rather they always have some magical fantasy aspect to them. This is even reflected in their heart, which takes on the more cartoonish shape that people normally see on playing cards or on Valentine’s Day. Their insides and flesh are somewhat elastic and can be stretched with little discomfort on the Pokemon, and they’re immune to natural illnesses outside of their weakness to venom. Not only this, but there is a phenomenon where their hearts can be excited in a specific situation that causes the organ to jump out through their rib cage and loudly beat while still being suspended under their skin. Even holding and squeezing their heart doesn’t hurt them and it only happens when they’re truly safe, at least.

A fun idea I had: Cardiac Fairies
Like the title says, I had an idea about a particular race of little fairies. I've had it for a while, so fair warning that this might get rather long and detailed.
Reblogs, comments, even chats or asks about this idea are appreciated. I also highly encourage making content based on this idea, I hope this inspires other creative members of the community!
(warning, nsfw/dark cardiophilia after the Read More, especially around the end)
What they are- Well, their name is somewhat explanatory. Cardiac fairies are a particular type of small fae folk ranging between 5 inches to a foot tall that are born and raised devoted to a specific thing that keeps just about everyone alive: Their beating hearts. This pumping muscle is a very intimate organ for them, and they follow the belief that it holds the individual's soul. Thus, they like to be as close to another's heart as possible, most often seeking sentient humanoid partners. They are very kind fairies if not a little mischievous, but they make very good friends and partners.
What they do- Cardiac fairies have an array of magic specifically for the ability to interact with others' hearts. They are natural healers, and can't physically harm somebody's heart in any way. Rather, they always have an aura about them that can slowly heal any damage to a heart just by being near the organ. They can't unclog an artery or heal any defects this way, but they can at least regenerate any dying tissue caused by such things.
These fairies also sport a sort of x-ray vision magic. Of course this lets them see the beating hearts around them and that'll be their focus, but it also allows them to see past clothes and see other internal organs.
They can also teleport, as a very convenient way to directly interact with somebody's heart without having to make a hole in them just to access it.
The fairies also have a magical ability only they can do, which most call Cupid's Arrow. This ability lets them form a bow and arrow out of sheer magic. This arrow, when shot, doesn't harm anyone. Rather it will pass through anything unless it falls out of the fairy's magical range (which can expand through training) and dissipates, the fairy calls it off and makes it disappear, or it senses the distinct contractions of a cardiac muscle and stops inside of it.
When the latter happens, the fairies can then make a yanking motion with their hands. If the fairy themselves are strong enough (the average cardiac fairy has enough strength to hold a human's heart with ease), the target's heart will phase through their chest and be flung right into the fairy's hands. When this happens, the heart will be magically severed so it's still supplying blood to its owner. However caution must be exercised, others can still harm the organ. If the heart is also nowhere near the fairy's healing aura and still disconnected, the magic will wear off and the owner will bleed out with their heart gushing blood wherever it ended up.
Their cardiology- The hearts of cardiac fairies take on the cutesy cartoon shape one would normally see associated with hearts. Despite this simple shape and small size, their hearts are immensely powerful and compact. Even a hydraulic press could break trying to crush their tiny pumps! Also, as long as their body isn't destroyed during the process, they can survive their hearts being removed. They will grow tired until their body regenerates a new one, and this can be said for other parts of them. When removed, their heart might never stop beating, as long as it isn't trying to be attached to something that their owners wouldn't agree with. This makes for very good use should the fairy want their heart to be used as a transplant for someone less fortunate.
Interacting with hearts- Cardiac fairies interact with the hearts of others in various ways, most of them positive and with good intentions. They could simply touch the heart to impart their healing magic, they could cuddle or sleep on the organ, or they could even get intimate.
When lustful, their aura starts to change and their partner will feel that sense of arousal emanating to their heart. A simple touch that once gave the heart's owner warmth and energy would become a caress that caused the owner to feel pleasure in their chest as well as their genitals. They'll feel just as aroused as if someone was stroking their body, and their heart will be loudly pounding for the fairy's pleasure.
These fairies can then make love to the very heart that they've been teasing. Female fairies can simply straddle and ride the organ (or even magically give themselves a functioning penis should they or their partner want), and males or intersex can penetrate the organ with their erection. Given their complete inability to harm the heart, penetration doesn't result in any pain or blood loss, simply just their shaft entering the organ's pounding chamber. caressed by the thrashing walls, treated to the rushing blood... among all of this, the partner whose heart they're literally having sex with will feel the sensation in their chest and their genitals as if they were having sex through normal means.
While their healing aura doesn't normally unclog blood vessels and the like, the same can't be said for their bodily fluids entering their partner's bloodstream. Should one of these fairies ejaculate inside of the heart, their semen will effectively clean up any gunk inside of the bloodstream and give the heart's owner an energy boost before dissolving into nutrients and wastes to be carried into their kidneys.

Yknow I guess it couldn’t hurt sharing some cardiophile headcanons I have for Night in The Woods
They aren’t a lot but like,
Offhand my big main one is Mae having like a heart murmur or an irregularity with her heartbeat, nothing too serious but it does sound a little funny if you listen to it long enough
Gregg’s heart runs a lot faster than everybody else’s. Be it out of just being high energy, being someone in my mind that would totally drink energy drinks, or just adhd medication side effects. That man’s heart beats fast and it definitely ain’t anywhere below 80-90 bpm. He’s Probably asked Angus to listen to it once just to show how fast it was going one time after taking the stairs up to their apartment. Probably cuz he thought it was cool or something

Tfw you aren’t sure your heart rate is high from a mix of medication side effects and stress, side effects and being aroused and excited talking to friends and partners…
Or all three
