Dry banana hippy hat to our beloved Queen Anna! 🌹
I'm late to the party (especially in my timezone 😂), and I honestly had zero ideas for birthday edits. But then I was inspired by the Frozen West End musical that was released yesterday. There's a line before I Can't Lose You where Elsa says, “I nearly killed you, Anna. You were six years old.” That confused me, wasn't Anna supposed to be five years old? I'm not sure, but somehow that moment gave me a spark! I thought why not edit each age of Anna and make a simple blended edit from it? So... tadaa! Here's the result, these Annas are 5, 8, 15, 18, 19, and 21 years old respectively 🌹
I was in a rush and also not feeling well, so there might be some flaws, but it doesn't matter, because the sincerity is what counts the most 💙
Anyway, Happy Birthday to my Queen Anna — may today be the perfect day for you! 💙

Hi! Thank you so much for putting all your Frozen research and analyses out here, it's been such a big help with all the little random questions about this world. This one I've been thinking about for a while: Do you have any guesses as to just how old Kai, Gerda, and Olina are? I know they were already working in the castle in Dangerous Secrets and they're still there so... that's a long time haha
Hello and thank you for your question, anon!
We've also been thinking about Kai, Gerda and Olina recently. They are indeed a fascinating trio and likely much older than most Frozen fans think.
To our knowledge, Olina has been around Arendelle Castle since at least the early 1810s. Her first appearance (chronologically) is in "Dangerous Secrets" chapter 6 p. 55 when Agnarr and Iduna are 14 and 12 years old respectively. According to the timeline presented in our previous work Annals of Frozen (2nd edition), that would be in the year 1812 (31 years before the main events of "Frozen").
Tumblr media
Olina, the castle cook/chef, in the chapter book "Anna finds a friend" (2020).
Gerda has been around since Agnarr was at most five years old (DS chapter 27, p. 216) as she witnessed his mother, Queen Rita, make the stuffed toy Sir JörgenBjörgen (also seen in "Olaf's Frozen Adventure") for him. So, at least since 1803 (40 years before "Frozen"). It's entirely possible Gerda might have started working as a maid in her late teens, which would make her somewhere between 50-60+ years old in "Frozen".
Tumblr media
Gerda, (holds the rank of "family steward" according to "Dangerous Secrets") in the guide book "All Around Arendelle" (2020).
Kai is also first mentioned (chronologically) in "Dangerous Secrets" chapter 4 p. 33 when Agnarr was 14 so he's been around at least as long as Olina.
Tumblr media
Olina, Gerda and Kai in "Frozen".
Kai holds a whole bunch of different titles depending on what story he's mentioned in: royal butler, royal handler, castle overseer, tutor, chief adviser, royal attendant, steward and servant.
He is also featured in early concept art by Cory Loftis and even has his own room in the castle (also seen in "All Around Arendelle").

If you want to learn more about the trio, read this excellent post by our member @bigfrozenfan 😊 (link below)

Hi there! I only just recently watched the Frozen timeline video on YouTube which credits the archive as a big help and after watching it I got the most random question on my mind about who Lord Peterson is? (Idk if that’s how his name is spelled) it’s said that he took over as Regent for Agnarr when he was too young for the throne so I’m just wondering if they’re maybe related to each other as family? Maybe his uncle?
Hi there and thank you so much for your question! We had a great time helping out Geekritique with research for his video. It's hard to believe it was 1,5 years ago now. Now, for your question.
Lord Peterssen was introduced in the Twisted Tale (set in an alternate universe) novel "Conceal, don't feel" (aka. "Let it go" in some markets) by Jen Calonita where he's described as King Agnarr's most trusted friend and acts as Elsa's mentor and regent after Agnarr and Iduna are lost at sea. Elsa thinks of him as an uncle of sorts, showing how close to the royal family he must have been. He also warns her about the prying tendencies of the AU-version of the Duke of Weselton.
He makes another (and arguably more important) appearance in the novel "Dangerous secrets" by Mari Mancusi. The story, which takes place in the same continuity as the movies, features a slightly younger Peterssen who plays a major role in helping a young Iduna find a life in Arendelle after she rescues Prince Agnarr from the forest. He's stated to be one of King Runeard's most trusted advisors. After Runeard's death, he acts as Agnarr's regent for about seven years before he can be crowned king of Arendelle. Peterssen is described as "a man with a full head of dark hair" and "wearing a fancy suit the color of lingonberries". He's very protective of Agnarr and Iduna and the one who convinces Iduna to hide her Northuldra identity for the sake of protecting her:
I never knew anyone who hated secrets as much as our prince. And if the truth were to come out—whether by his own mouth, in a misguided attempt to defend your honor, or by some other means—it would be disastrous to his rule. People learning he willingly married you, knowing you were the daughter of Arendelle’s enemy, might cost him the throne. Better he does not know. Peterssen to Iduna. Dangerous secrets, ch. 40
Lord Peterssen is also the one who teaches Agnarr the infamous mantra "Conceal, don't feel. Don't let it show".
As for your question about Peterssen' family ties. There really isn't any information that supports it. We don't really know anything about his background tbh. Only that he served under King Runeard and also that he met and spent time with the Northuldra during the time of the construction of Runeard's dam.
What happens to Peterssen after his last appearance in DS is unknown. It is entirely possible he was still alive in canon during "Frozen" and again stepped in as regent for Elsa, like "Conceal, don't feel" suggests but there is no story that confirms or denies it. Mari Mancusi herself has stated on discord that she "believe they said Peterssen died at some point" and that the royal "council was dismissed once they closed the gates". *They* is implied to be some contact of hers at Disney.

Jonathan Groff on Frozen 3 | Latest Updates
On an appearance at SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Jonathan Groff says he doesn't know anything about the plot let alone starting the voice acting.
He says:
"I think I have a text from my agents right now... we've got a Frozen 3 call that I haven't called them back about yet. [...] It's happening, but I don't know. I don't know anything about it. We haven't started recording it or anything yet."
So we're still in the same position however this isn't a bad sign. It means they're still in the writing phase, probably making sure it all connects. From what I know about the production, voice acting comes before the voicing. They still have just over 2 years til the movies set release so I feel they'll probably start the voicing by the end of this year it early next year. That way we could potentially get some Frozen 2 content next year. And not to mention they're writing Frozen 4 at the same time so I understand that this is no surprise but just in case you were wondering, here's where we're at currently.

different anon from your most recent here, I just wanted to say that I agree about the curiosity towards different kingdoms of Frozen’s universe! the main thing that bugged me from the movie was whoever those dignitaries were that Hans spoke with
I know they were mentioned in Frozen Heart and I used to have that book but that was years ago now so the memories are just gone and wikis are way too vague
Greetings!
We actually covered some info about the dignitaries in our project about the kingdom of Vakretta some time ago so let's summarise what we know about them.
As you probably already know, the dignitaries we see in the movie are credited to be from Spain, France, Germany and Ireland. In "A Frozen Heart", there are at least seven foreign coronation guest-characters: the dignitaries of Eldora and Blavenia, the Lord of Kongsberg, the representative from Zaria, Prince Wils of Vakretta, Prince Freluke and the Duke of Weselton.
To pinpoint exactly who the four movie dignitaries are is a bit tricky at a first glance. Thankfully, the book includes some dialogue that helps us narrowing it down.
Tumblr media
Dialogue spoken by the French and Spanish dignitaries in the movie. In the novel, the lines belong to the Eldoran and Blavenian dignitaries.
The Irish dignitary is identified in the movie script.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As we explored in the Vakretta-project, the character of Prince Wils is most likely meant to be the ginger gentleman that accompanies Hans and the other nobles in the council chamber.
Tumblr media
Concept art of him also reveal that he is the remaining German dignitary. Oh, and he also exclaims "Wunderbar!" (German for "wonderful") after seeing Anna punch Hans in the face near the end of the movie.
Tumblr media
So, we know that in the Frozenverse Spain, France and Germany are represented by (or the inspiration for) Blavenia, Eldora and Vakretta. We don't know what alternate identity (if any) the Irish dignitary has. Possibly he's meant to be the Lord of Kongsberg or Prince Freluke. Not the man from Zaria because he's described in the book to have a long beard.
Thank you so much for the question! 🤗

Just wanted to say I love your posts! I’ve been curious about Frozen’s world lately, mainly all the possible kingdoms that exist since I only know of three (Arendelle Weselton and the southern isles) and i appreciate the effort you’ve made to try and find and source different ones that are mentioned in other media
With that in mind, do you have a post anywhere that puts all of these places together in a sort of list? Or do you maybe plan to make one?
Sorry recent anon here I feel like I should clarify that my interest in Frozen’s kingdoms is because I’m trying to figure out a map involving locations from different Disney movies so I was wondering with the kingdoms from Frozen’s media where you think they would go
Thank you so much for your kind message, Anon! We greatly appreciate that our content has been to your and other fans' liking😁
And you've come to the right place. The kingdoms of the Frozenverse is a special interest to us as well and as you might have seen in some of our previous works, mapping the world of Frozen is definitely one of our main goals!
So yeah, we most definitely have (and are working on refining) a list of Frozen nations. These are the ones we can confirm so far:
Arendelle
Akerselva
Blakeston
Blavenia
Bølgete (aka Bolgete Island)
Bordignon
Brinnon
Chatho
Corona
Eldora
Frederborg
Kongsberg
Northuldra
Ødemark (aka Odemark Isle)
Riverland
Royaume
Sankershus
Selinia
Snoob
The Southern Isles
Tikaani
Torres
Vakretta
Vassar
Vesterland
Weselton
Yuwabe
Zaria
Where are they on the map? Only four of them (Arendelle, Northuldra, The Southern Isles and Weselton) have confirmed locations so far while the rest are speculation.
Tumblr media
I promise we'll return with a more detailed post in the future where we go into some kingdom 'stats' and where they appear.

I'm surprised we got something new about Frozen Fever
Frozen Fever Featurette | 10 year anniversary!!! 🌻
youtube
Omgosh my heart, mee I was screaming fangirling over thisss when I saw this on YouTube (😭😭🥹) cause I don't recall us getting much bts on Frozen Fever. Or at least I don't remember but to see this and Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck talk and recall the making of Frozen Fever is everything for mee! It's my favourite short because it's just so nostalgic so fun and different! But seeing the directors talk through their ideas and thought process of making this short is lovely to see and it's heartwarming to know that they really care about the characters and knowing them so well.
I really hope we get more shorts after Frozen 3 and 4. It's really engaging and entertaining to see what they do. It's just something extra to show us what else the characters are capable of, especially when it comes to fun and traditions!
Anna's gown was perfect! The colours are so Anna and sunflowers are so Anna! The hairdo and ribbons were perfect againn! As for Elsa, so glad they let her go for a warm colour palette for this! Green suits her beautifully. The gradient, the way it's styled the flowers being combined with snowflakes - genius!! They really did well with giving different versions for Elsa's main dress. Like this one is the summer/ spring version, her classic one is her everyday/ winter one and OFA is the holdiday version.

Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible moms out there 🌹
I was racing against the clock to finish this poster (only had half an hour left in my timezone), but I'm really glad I managed to get it done lmaoo 😂 It's not perfect, and I couldn't find a higher quality image of Iduna, so the quality's a little off, but I'm quite satisfied with it anyway 😁

Arendelle Magazine 2.0… 🔥
I'm obsessed with magazine edits ever since I made one last year. I guess I'll be making more magazine covers whenever there are new renders I love (the renders much be with high quality, of course 😂
Since I already have the magazine template I created last year, everything was pretty easy except for removing Elsa's cape to make it transparent, which was so troublesome lmaooo

Happy World Book Day...! 📚
Finally made some simple book-themed edits, which is something I've wanted to do for ages! 🔥
Anna's edit is from a past one (only changed the book cover), and Elsa's is brand a new edits. Not perfect since I rushed it, but I loved making them anyway 💙
As a book lover, I've collected many Frozen books from 2019 until now, most of them were added last year, when I became especially obsessed with Frozen books. If you're interested, feel free to check them out on here or here🔥

Where to Buy Hardcopy Frozen Books: My Guide & Ratings ❄
Since I've posted my novel photoshoot and timeline guide for various books, lots of people have asked me about where I bought all my Frozen books. Some of them were bought in my local bookstore, but most of them are from online, so here's some online bookstore list that I'm using and highly recommended 💙
Before read:
- This guideline is only for hardcopy books since I’m a huge fan of hardcopy books and have only collected hardcopy books so far.  - Since I'm not from US, this guideline is a general guideline based on my experience which supports worldwide shipping (at least it's available in my country which is in Asia 😁).  - Availability may vary by country and cannot guarantee that all books will be in stock. - The ratings and comments are rated by me, so it's just for your references.
Amazon US
Website: https://www.amazon.com
Book Variety and Availability: Wide.
New or Used Book: Both.
Shipping Fees: Very expensive.
Shipping Tracking: Accurate.
Shipping Time: Within 2 - 3 weeks.
Mobile App: Yes.
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆
My Review: This was the first international online bookstore where I bought physical books. I’ve purchased quite a number of books from Amazon US. It used to be my go-to option whenever a book wasn’t available on local online bookstores, at least until I discovered a few more international online bookstores, which I’ll mention below. The biggest downside is the shipping fee, it’s very expensive, sometimes even more than the book itself.
Check out the unboxing of books from Amazon US in the video below (starting at 01:23):
youtube
Thriftbooks
Website: https://www.thriftbooks.com/
Book Variety and Availability: Wide.
New or Used Book: Used only.
Shipping Fees: Expensive.
Shipping Tracking: Inaccurate.
Shipping Time: Within 2-3 weeks.
Mobile App: Yes.
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆
My Review: I used to buy books exclusively from Amazon US until I came across this online bookstore. The shipping fee is still expensive, but more affordable compared to Amazon US. The condition descriptions for used books are fairly accurate (note: new books are only available for shipping within the US; international shipping only supports used books). The main downside is the tracking, it’s not accurate, so I never know exactly when my book will arrive. I tried reaching out to customer service but I didn’t get a reply. Also, there was no contact number printed on the package, so the postman couldn’t call me. Instead, they just dropped the book into my mailbox without informing me. I had to check my mailbox every day, which was a bit of a hassle.
Check out the unboxing of books from Thriftbooks in the video below (starting from 00:50):
youtube
Better World Books
Website: https://www.betterworldbooks.com/
Book Variety and Availability: Wide.
New or Used Book: Used only.
Shipping Fees: Not applicable (included in the item price).
Shipping Tracking: Accurate.
Shipping Time: Within 2-3 weeks.
Mobile App: No.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
My Review: I discovered this online bookstore recently. The book prices are higher than the previous two, but that’s because shipping fees are already included. Still, the overall price is quite similar. Shipping was surprisingly fast, which I didn’t expect. I highly recommend this one.
Check out the unboxing of books from Thriftbooks in the video below (starting from 00:26):
youtube
Blackwell’s
Website: https://blackwells.co.uk/
Book Variety and Availability: Limited.
New or Used Book: Used only.
Shipping Fees: Not applicable (included in the item price).
Shipping Tracking: Inaccurate.
Shipping Time: At least one month.
Mobile App: No.
Overall Rating: ★★☆☆☆
My Review: This store has fewer options than the previous three. The tracking is unreliable, and the shipping time is very slow—it took over a month for my order to arrive. I don’t recommend it.
Check out the unboxing of books from Blackwell's in the video below (starting from 01:14):
youtube
Conclusion: Rating breakdown
Note that so far, I have only bought two books from Better World Books and one book from Blackwell's, as I only discovered these bookstores in the past few months. Therefore, my experience with these stores is limited.
Book Variety (More →  Less): Thriftbooks = Amazon US -> Better World Books -> Blackwell’s Packaging Condition (Good →  Poor): Better World Books = Thriftbooks = Blackwell’s -> Amazon US Shipping Fees (Affordable →  Expensive): Better World Books = Blackwell’s -> Thriftbooks -> Amazon US Shipping Times (Fastest -> Slowest): Better World Books -> Thriftbooks = Amazon US -> Blackwell’s Shipping Tracking (Most accurate →  Least accurate): Better World Books = Amazon US -> Thriftbooks = Blackwell’s Overall Rating (Highly Recommended → Not Recommended): Better World Books -> Thriftbooks -> Amazon US -> Blackwell’s
Additionally, there’s one online bookstore that doesn’t support worldwide shipping but is highly recommended. Its availability depends on your country:
Kinokuniya
Website: Depends on your country.
Book variety and availability: Lesser.
New or used book: New.
Shipping fees: Affordable.
Shipping tracking: Accurate.
Shipping Times: Up to 5 days for in-stock items; 2 to 3 weeks for out-of-stock items.
Mobile App: No.
Overall Rating: ★★★★★
My Review: This is always my first choice when it comes to buying books. The prices are the most affordable among all international bookstores I’ve used. One of the main reasons is that I get extra discounts as a member (usually 10%, sometimes 15%, and occasionally additional vouchers). I also get free shipping when I spend over a certain amount. Plus, customer service is responsive, they usually reply within a day. The shipping time is also the fastest. The only downside is that sometimes a book appears to be available and you can add it to your cart, but later customer service will inform you that it’s actually out of stock. However, don’t worry, they won’t charge you for it.
At last, if you have any experiences you'd like to share using any of these online bookstores, or if you have any recommended bookstores, feel free to leave a comment!
Thank you for reading this long guide, I hope it helps!
