I don't like when antis say fiction does affect reality and use the fact that they felt things when watching a show as evidence.

Because yeah, that is fiction affecting reality, but an adventure book making you cry because your favorite character died is different from a dark romance novel turning you into a violent rapist because it didn't condemn rape and made you think that was okay.

I'm not sure how to say this exactly, but fiction making you feel things on a surface level or giving you a new perspective/understanding of something isn't quite the same thing as a book rewiring your brain and turning you into a different person, because the majority of people don't actually want to harm others.
