*I’ve never been one to write blog posts, even being someone who has grown up with technology at my fingertips , it’s never really been my thing. I do have other social media outlets that I check on frequently, but Tumblr has never been one of those sites. This is my first post so it might not be up to par with other posts, but this is a relevant topic worth talking about so here goes..Â
There is a hefty list of things that keep me up at night and climate change is very high on that list. I’m constantly feeling guilty for not doing EVERYthing in my power to reduce waste and try to reduce my footprint. Many environmental activists and activist websites tend to push people to “take action” and for the longest time I felt like this was an attack on anyone's moral who didn’t do exactly that. Now being a rational adult I realize that these people fighting and pushing for climate change are not attacking anyone, they are using the urgency that we all should have, considering our home planet is in literal danger. The vast majority of scientists claim that global climate change is real, ongoing, and believe that humans are the main cause, yet many so many people are reluctant to take action to reduce the effects of climate change. A person who doesn’t believe that global warming affects them is not only selfish, but very naive.Â
Although it sounds stressful and terrifying we need to change everyone who is dismissive of climate change into someone who is alarmed about it. We can no longer ignore the facts and be selfish because soon the damage will be irreversible. Start by thinking of one way you can help, then two, then three, eventually you’ll be at ten and you’ll be on your way to making the world a more clean and sustainable place for ourselves and the future generations to come.
