rot series.... part 2!!! really happy with how these turned out! i focused more on texture this time, trying to capture that orange peel feel 🍊 i'm also so stoked with the glazes i bought, they're exactly what i was looking for (even if i need to work on coverage with the mold portions.) i think next run through i'm going to really push the shapes and attempt lids...

I've started noticing this weird thing where sometimes people are resistant to the idea of violence in fiction being representative of. Violence. And not a metaphor for something else? Like, one kind of violence as symbolic of another. Everybody's into sexualizing cannibalism until you start saying the words "sexual" and "violence" next to each other, then it's Uncomfortable. This has got to be a really specific tumblr social circle issue because what the hell is that about

🐚Shellmaid🐚 . Some mermaids manifest with a beautiful fish tail, to help them glide through the water with grace and playfulness. But this one curled her tail up into a rigid shell, protecting herself from anything that could harm her. Her tail is still lovely, reflecting a rainbow of lights- yet she can’t swim with ease like the others. Who could she be if only she could cast off the armor? . This painting started off as a study of an iridescent shell! I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t drawn to the magical sparkle of iridescence. Hope you enjoy this #mermay offering!

this is like.......the core point of like every modern piece of political economic writing ever. but it's actually mindboggling how much unlimited access to cheap goods americans have.

like even compared to other imperial states and taking wages and conversions into account it's still a ridiculous level of access and affordability, and then compared to relatively wealthy non imperial nations it's just completely unfathomable.
