you stood in front of the claw machines, searching each one thoroughly for a certain plushie. the arcade lights strobed through rainbow, cycling over and over again as you peered through the glass. a hint of yellow peaked out under another plush that caught your eye, and you circled around the machine to get a better look.…- a mischievous smile spread across your face. they had finally restocked the claw machines after ages, and today was the day you would finally complete your collection and get this plushie.

you promptly rummaged through your bag looking for your wallet and entered a $1 bill into the machine— it came to life, lights flashing and automated voice playing. You took a deep breathe in preparation and tilted the joystick, placing the claw over the plush that was covering the one you wanted.

sighing and entering your 5th dollar bill into the machine, you once again took your aim at the plushie. there was no way you were leaving the arcade without it. as you pressed the button and watched miserably as the claw dropped the stuffy just too early of the prize box, you grumbled again in frustration. but apparently someone else found it amusing,

you turned around to see a tall, black haired man laughing quietly. you quirked your brows, what was he laughing at? it’s not like it was your fault the machine was rigged.

“if you think it’s so easy just do it yourself” you mumbled, turning to confiscate another dollar to the stupid machine.

“actually,” the man walked up to you.

“i can do it myself, sweetheart.” he smiled at you teasingly and entered his own money, moving in your place.

“yeah, sure, if you can.” you huffed.

you watch as he adjusted the claw; taking the moment to get a good look at the man. he was wearing an oversized tee and some dark cargo pants, freckles lightly scattered across his face. he seemed like the type who looked cute at first glance, but his first impression wasn’t so hot.

“betcha 5 bucks i’ll get this in the prize box” he sang, hovering his fingers above the button.

you gave him an indefinite look,

“i guess, but it’s rigged, so your loss.”

He pressed the button. you watch with your arms crossed as the claw picked up the plushie with ease and somehow brought it all the way to the end, dropping it in the hatch where you picked it up through a tiny door near the bottom of the machine.

“Told you so,” the guy said.

unsure how to feel, excited for the plush but still petty towards the man, you reach to your purse and take out your wallet. looking down at the measly $1 you had left of your cash…

“is there any other way i can give you 5 bucks? you have paypal?” you asked.

“actually, since i’m nice, i’ll let you slide with just your number” the man said with another one of those obnoxious smiles. but it was charming. you sighed, handing him your phone reluctantly.

“i’m ace, by the way. nice to meet ya” ace grinned.

“i’m y/n, thanks for the plush,” you gave him a small smile and turned to leave.

“hey wait, you free on the weekend?” ace shouted after you.

“yeah! text me later..” you shouted back. honestly, he’s totally your type but what an annoying guy. regardless though, you smiled looking at your new plush.

luffy would absolutely love to go adventuring with you. he’d go to all the islands he could, but it was only the best if you tagged along with him. He’d start out with you at the start, but somewhere along the way he’d disappear in the middle of the island; and show up a while later with some weird thing dangling from his hands and sparkles in his eyes, asking you if you thought it was cool. sometimes it was sweet , like some flowers he brought or seashells that he picked up. though other times are less fortunate and he ends up bringing some sort of dead animal. but being a good partner you act excited anyway :,)

( modern au ) 🧸

HE LOVES AMUSEMENT PARKS! he’ll get so pumped up to go and it’s so cute, but to be honest it’s exhausting on your end once you get there. this man will spend his entire wallet and beg you to open yours on all the games, rides, and especially the food. for him though, it’s a dream— there’s everything he loves, including you. he could spend days consecutively at theme parks, eating and playing around. his favorite ride? roller coasters, obviously. his favorite game would be really any that has a big prize at the end, his eyes grow big and he really wants to win whatever it is. at the end of the day, the two of you will haul home a bunch of random stuffed animals and toys that luffy won from the games. he’s still brimming with energy after all of it, and you’re just sitting there like… (ｰ ｰ;)

ZORO ・₊˚﹕⋆⊹

( op world ) ⚔️

he’s not much of a “yass lets go out for dinner shall we” kinda dude; his ideal date would be sitting together and watching the sky on the sunny. it doesn’t matter what time it is, the stars, sunset, sunrise or clouds are his comfort. but you being there with him just makes everything even better. you could rest your head on his shoulder and stare off into the distance while talking with him, or just sit in comfortable silence and fall asleep (bringing me to my next point >:) he also loves napping with you. though thats not really considered a date, he loves it more than anything. he just feels content when he can hear your soft snore against his chest.

( modern au ) 🌃

he is totally a motorcycle dude. and a gymbro.. (。-∀-) again, he doesn’t consider much to be a “date” but his ideal one would be taking you on a ride throughout the city. he’ll hop on his bike and put you safely behind him, then cruise and just let loose. i alsoo have a feeling that he purposefully goes very fast with you, just so that he can feel your arms wrap around his waist so you don’t fall off. -he will die before he can admit that though. he also loves little dates where you two can chill and drink at some bar. he’s definitely more controlled with his drinking here than in the one piece world but there’s no doubt he loves drinking with you.

- he’s never really sad (exc the ace incident), so it’s hard for him to understand

- he’ll try his best to, but this man cannot comprehend complex feelings 💀

- but if he doesn’t try to help he’ll be frustrated in himself so

- he tried to share some meat with you, lets you sit on his special spot on the sunny, gives you his hat to wear, plays with his cheeks and makes weird ass faces, etc

- just things that would make HIM happy, he seems to think that they would make you happy too

ZORO

- not the best guy for comfort 😭

- some things he can understand, but other things are a little out of reach

- he will listen to vents or rants you have

- he’s not much of a advice or comforting type of person but it’s only because he doesn’t know how to do any of that

- will keep an eye out for you, if sanji or something’s pestering you he’ll definitely smack him and let you be alone

- he doesn’t mind sitting snd listening to music with you, at night

- or bringing you around with him on the ship to do stuff

- also lends you his shoulder if you need a place to rest

SANJI

- he thinks he’s an expert on this. (he’s not 💀)

- he tried to tone down on the simping because he knows it’s not appropriate.. bare minimum gn

- he makes you lots of food that you enjoy in hopes of lifting your spirits

- he’ll also listen to your rants, and he will give you advice, just don’t expect good advice

- he’s down for hugs if you need it,

- if you need someone to hold you he’s also fine with that,

- also shares some of his cigarettes with you if you just need to clear your mind and calm down

- will kick anyone who starts annoying you

SHANKS

- he’s a jokester/ a flirt, but he knows when to settle down and take things serious

- he’s also not the best at giving advice, since he doesn’t experience those types of feelings, but he tries

- he’s alot more gentle with you when he knows you’re down

- lets you sleep on his chest, hug him, whatever you want

- he’ll ditch his duties to just stay with you in bed and comfort you

- he likes giving head pats or back rubs when you’re really not feeling it

- if you need anything he’ll get it for you

- it would take a minute for it to settle in that you’re actually sick,

- but when it does he starts freaking out and he calls chopper over (wifje that’s that the doctor’s for, right?)

- if chopper puts you in your room and doesn’t allow anyone to enter, well, luffy will just stare at you all day through the window.

- he would try to sneak in to give you meat, and get scolded

- this man does not get sick so he can’t understand completely but he just wants you to feel better

ZORO

- he’s concerned if anything,

- also takes you straight to chopper and wants to know exactly what you’re sick with

- he has a busy schedule of sleeping, but he’ll take care to fall asleep sitting in front of your door

- he’s like your guard. and he also peeks through the door/window every now and then but he tried not to be obvious with it

- tries acting all nonchalant about it once you’re better but you know he was worried

NAMI

- she has basic medical knowledge so if it’s urgent she’ll try to figure out what’s wrong, but chooper always to the rescue

- nami is the only one that chopper trusts to stay in your room with you.

- she will sit beside your bed and give you your medicine and the designated times, also read to you if you wanted

- she’ll just hang out with you and keep you company while also taking precautions herself

- definitely sharing some of her special oranges with you

SANJI

- bro thought you were gonna die when you said you were feeling ill

- he is giving you top notch care,

- delivers very nutritious andddd delicious food to your room… a little too often

- tries to do anything to help you get better. this man is a simp.

- he will attempt to sneak in your room and miserably fail, getting caught

- chopper proceeding to scold him for bringing his cigarette in the same room as a sick patient

ROBIN

- “huh? you’re sick?!”

- she knows and trusts chopper with the process. but shes always checking in on you

- by checking in i mean she’s using her ojos thing to spy on you and see how you’re doing, and it would scare the shit out of you whenever you caught one of her eyes staring at you from the wall 💀

- she gives you some books if you’re feeling bored all cooped up in your room

- hand delivers your food via.. multiple hands

- she knows you’re not fragile and you’ll get better quick but she’s still worried about you 24/7.

~ the clothes you picked out that matched best were just plain oversized nuetral colored t shirts and those sweatpants, but the shorts version

~ he prefers to wear tank tops, paired with some sweats for comfort

~ she’s probably tiktok famous tbh. her style will range from whatever is trending, but she won’t be basic with it.

~ nami would live somewhere in LA fs. for the beaches and luxury type beat. definitely living in a expensive house.

SANJI ~

you sighed, and waited the next few moments before asking again.

this time he slowly unlinked his arms from your waist in a sullen manner and sulked his way into the bedroom. flopping on the bed (making sure to make a loud noise), he exhaled— forcing out every last bit of oxygen in his lungs. then he sniffled.

it was all a plan, of course, but you couldn’t help but laugh quietly and follow after him. you fell onto the mattress next to him and copied his actions, looking at him afterwards to see none other than his pouting face.

“c’mon mikeyy, don’t be like that. what about cuddles instead?” you asked, already knowing the answer.

cuddles meant tangled legs, a mess of the bedsheets, flutters of kisses and, mikey’s favorite, resting his face in the crook of your neck. he was the happiest he could be in the safety of your arms, though being a gang member himself. it was a reassuring feeling of safety, that nobody else could made him feel. like he could lay down with you and rest in your grasp for as long as he could. you were so precious to him.

though, still craving more of your love, he took your hand and guided it to his back. you smiled in amusement and did as he asked, rubbing his back slowly.
