I do not use the terms "ancient" and "benefactor" interchangeably, or when I do I'll switch it up mid-sentence because I can

Ancients are pre-iterator (depths, ect ect). This is because when FP calls them the ancients, he's referring to the people who aren't related to him or his creation

But Benefactor refers to post-iterator, those who built, lived on, and took care of the iterators. "Noble Benefactors"

The term "benefactor" is definitely still around and I still regularly use it, maybe calling them bennies is a Lore Head thing but regardless..
