by being one of her sons, he is super powerful magic wise (he specializes in creation magic) but his body tends to be somewhat weak so u can often find him napping after exerting himself too much

there isnt a ton to say about his past bc for the most part he traveled all over, learning new languages, cultures and all that fun stuff. 

he’s been living in seoul for the past five years after spending the last twenty traveling

sanha is pretty shy and soft spoken. he tends to be really bad with words and much prefers using plants to express his feelings to people

            ✦ * · ˚ THINGS HAD BEEN going so smoothly, at least thats what sangyeon thought. he’d charmed his way into the exclusive club, easily found his way into the arms of the target and had been waiting for the perfect time to strike. everything up until that point had been so easy, almost too easy. so of course something went wrong. apparently someone had realized he wasn’t supposed to be there and this meant the guards were keeping a close eye on him and noticed when sang slipped something intro the targets drink despite how careful he’d been. 

                    so now here he was, running through the streets of seoul to the meeting place, three men chasing after him and a bruised cheek. he quickly turned into a small alleyway, shoving some bins that had lined the wall to create a bit of distance. he heard some cursing behind him as he finally reached the car and jumped in through the open window. “i’d really suggest we get going. our friends back there don’t seem very happy.”

             ✦ * · ˚ BREAKS WERE RARE for jisung. he would accidentally forget to take them and by the time he remembered it would be too late for him to take it. however sometimes his staff, the real staff, would not so politely remind him that he had to take a break and rest for a few minutes at least once during his shifts. so thats how he ended up sitting at one of the tables, a hot mug coffee in between his palms and a pout on his lips. he’d tried a few times sneaking his way back behind the bar or at least in to his office to do some paperwork but his baristas were watching him like a hawk and refused to let him anywhere close to somewhere he could work. just has he was about to attempt to sneak off again, the bell above the door chimed and someone he hadn’t been expecting to see for quite awhile walked in. he’d only met nico a few times, mostly in passing, so it was quite unsettling to see him in his establishment without any warning. “wonyoung. to what do i owe the pleasure?” he asked, offering him the seat across from him.

              ✦ * · ˚ DAYS OFF WERE RARE for jisung. if he wasn’t working at the cafe, he was in meetings with the gang to come up with better ways to distribute product within the cafe. it felt as if he never got time to himself since he got wrapped up in this mess. so when the chance came up for him to take the day off, he jumped on it. at first he was just going to stay holed up in his apartment and sleep the day away but that felt like such a waste. instead, he pulled himself out of bed at a somewhat reasonable time and began making his way to the kukje gallery. 

just as he was leaving his apartment building, a body collided with his and he gracelessly fell to the ground. he groaned quietly, looking up to see who had bumped into him. “its fine. are you ok?” he asked, standing up and dusting himself off.

               ✦ * · ˚ DAYS LIKE TODAY were jisung’s favourite. days where there weren’t any illegal activity going on, unless you counted his good looks. it made it feel like he ran a normal cafe in a normal city and had a normal life. of course that illusion would be shattered the next day when instead of the spicy taste of chai and bitter espresso filling the cups, it would be tiny bags of weed and cocaine. for now though, he could live in this moment and enjoy the mundaneness of the cafe. he would chat with the sweet old men who came in every morning for their coffee and to talk about the game (he never bothers to ask what game they’re talking about, just listens idly and enjoys their enthusiasm) and sneak cookies to the little kids who come in with their gossipy moms. anything to feel normal. he was even happier when one of his favourite regulars came in, yena. hearing her talk about her mundane job gave him a sense of comfort for some reason. it wasn’t anything he hadn’t heard before, coworkers in secret romances, office feuds, and so many other over dramatic things, yet he always found himself genuinely interested in her stories. ‘your usual, yena?’ he smiled, already starting to make her drink before she could really answer. ‘again? your office really should replace that old machine if it keep breaking like that.’

anyway his childhood is boring so lets skip to the good bits aka the ~teen years~

when he was sixteen he overheard his parents talking about how his dad was having trouble securing a deal bc the guy wasn’t fully convinced and sang, wanting to help out decided to take matters into his own hands, snuck into his dads office, got the guys number and called him up and was like “whats good old man !!! what would it take for u to sign those papers, my guy ?” and the guy was like “if u have dinner with me ill do it” so sang being stupid was like ‘aight’ and went to dinner and ended up sleeping with this guy he barely knew but it was all good bc he kept his end of the deal and signed the deal 

so this became a regular thing for sang, he would “””””convince”””” his fathers prospective business partners by sleeping with them, going on dates and basically just being arm candy for them 

 all was well and good until the incident. he was eighteen and he’d been trying to convince this one lady to sign the deal but she kept coming up with excuses as to why not and he was like “well fuck this im not wasting my time” and she was,,, not happy with that answer. she began yelling at him and went to grab him and he got spooked and shoved her back and she ended up hitting her head on the side of a table and dying

he wasn’t really panicked tbh???? he was just kinda like “oh fuck” and attempted cleaning up himself but then he remembered a past client that had connections in the underground world, he called them up and offered them some money to clean up his mess. 

and that was it for a while. he kept doing his thing and didnt have another run in with the gang for a little while until maybe 3 months later. apparently they had been keeping an eye on him and they wanted to offer him a position in the gang as an informant but he wasnt too keen on joining at first so he just helped out here and there when they needed 

and it was all good until he got bored of just fucking people for info. he wanted something more,,,, exciting. and in order to do that he had to join so he was like “eh why not” so he did and this lead to him learning how to kill people bc whats more exciting than that??? he trained heavily with a few assassins within the group and quickly became one of their best. he was cute, charming and completely unsuspecting. 

the only problem is that sang is,,, picky. he wont just kill anyone just bc the gang tells him to. it has to have a good price tag AND want to do it. he is a bratty rich kid who only wants to do what he wants and will throw a fit if he is forced into something he doesnt want to do.

jisung spent most of his childhood helping out at his parent’s cafe. when he was younger he used to hate being forced into helping out because he wanted to stay home and play video games with his brother but as he grew older he began to appreciate it more. he started to enjoy the soft and calming atmosphere of the small cafe and the strong smell of coffee in the air. he enjoyed brewing fresh cups of coffee for the locals and seeing their faces light up when they took the first sip !!! he became a full on coffee hoe !!!

the cafe slowly became his whole life when he was a teenager. when he was a teen he would spend almost all his free time there either working or hanging out with friends there. the cafe was everything to him and he couldn’t wait to take it over one day bc he brother didnt want to lol

thats why he decided to attend a business school in daegu. at first he wanted to attend one here in seoul but his parents told him to go and spend time away from the cafe for once. he reluctantly agreed and found himself living in daegu for almost three years

just as he was about to start his last year, he received a call saying that his parents were in the hospital after a robbery gone wrong. apparently his mother went to go grab the money from the register and the kid panicked thinking she was calling the police and shot both of them. he dropped out that night and got on the next train back to seoul. the doctors did all they could to save his parents but the medics arrived too late and they died two hours after he got to the hospital.

(this was just a cover story. what really happened was that their cafe happened to be in rose golden territory and they wanted to use the quiet cafe as a cover to deal drugs and his parents refused several times until the gang decided to stop being nice and just take it by force aka killing his parents) 

the cafe was left to him and his brother. his brother wanted nothing to do with the cafe and tried to convince jisung to sell it but he refused. the cafe meant so much to him and he couldn’t bare the thought of not being able to return to it anymore. especially when he knew what rose golden wanted to do with the cafe. this lead to him taking over the cafe as the sole owner and working out a deal with the gang in order to keep everyone happy. 

they could deal through his cafe but only during certain days (to keep suspicion down and to not scare the regulars), couldn’t deal to minors and that the people dealing had to actually work at the cafe and not just pose as a barista.  

personality: despite the death of his parents, he is still a very cheerful person. he loves helping his friends and doting on them whenever he can. he just wants everyone to be happy and enjoy a good cup of coffee. he can be quite clumsy so if you’re bored and looking for something entertaining, come to the cafe right before close and watch jisung attempt to do the dishes without dropping at least 3 cups.

wanted connections:

part timer: someone who works part time at the cafe with jisung. even though he tried his best to run the cafe on his own, its a lot of work for one person so he needed someone to help out. the hours are decent and you get free coffee out of it so why not? this could also be a dealer for the gang !! 

best friend: pretty self explanatory. this could be someone who’s known jisung for years or someone he met after he returned to seoul.

can i get your name for the cup?: at first it was an honest mistake. jisung just heard the name wrong but now its developed into a challenge to see how many different ways he can fuck up their name until they snap.
