Yeah no, people are talking too much about Laurel but if the woman with whom the husband of my late best friend repeatedly cheated on her with while she was battling cancer was the woman organizing my daughter and my best friend’s son wedding I’D BE OUT FOR MURDER FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.

You would have to call the police if I’d ever find myself in the same room with Adam and Kayleigh, let alone being my daughter wedding planner and playing mommy with late best friend’s son.

ANYONE who loved Susannah would be devastated hearing that her son is getting his wedding organized by Adam’s mistress and just imagining how it would’ve broken Susannah’s heart, Laurel is being even too reasonable in my opinion ‘cause if I was in her shoes as soon as Conrad told me that I would’ve been driving to Adam’s house to ruin his entire family and ruin the entire wedding for the fucking guts they were having.

The only thing I have against Laurel and Conrad so far is them not telling Jeremiah the truth about Keyleigh considering her new involvement in the family dynamics, he’s not a kid anymore and he should know. I would want to know if my wedding planner was my dad’s mistress while my mom was dying SO MIND YOU I AM NOT BLAMING BELLY AND JEREMIAH FOR THIS, I’m simply saying that Laurel is justified to being pissed at everything involving this wedding and Adam suddenly being the supportive father ‘cause there’s something in it for him.

A part of me feels that the reason why Laurel showed up for Belly is half out of actual concern for Belly of course and hearing how she was not doing well but partially is also because she felt the need to step up and be involved so not to ruin Susannah’s memory which was being insulted by Adam and Keyleigh having the fucking guts to act the way they are acting.

Like if I was Laurel I’d personally make sure that Adam gets humiliated and hated on by his kids for the rest of his life and Keyleigh would never be able to show face in public ever again ‘cause the guts it takes to do what they are doing with Jeremiah’s wedding is actually EVIL. What father would have his kid’s wedding organized by the woman he cheated on their dying mother with? BOTH BELONG TO HELL.

I’d dare ANYONE to see this disrespect unfold and not get involved.

And before people come saying “it’s their wedding not Susanna’s/not Laurel’s” THEY ARE THE ONE CONSTANTLY BRINGING UP “IT’S WHAT SUSANNAH WOULD HAVE WANTED” “IT’S WHAT MY MOM WOULD WANT” so it’s clearly important to them, everything about this wedding is so wrong.

One of the big issues with Bonrad’s relationship the first time around was Conrad’s inability to show weakness around Belly and allow her to help him (his hero complex). It’s the reason why she freaks out at the funeral. Belly see Conrad accepting help from another girl and it feels like betrayal bc she wanted to help him so much and he never let her.

“I would have been there for you through everything.”

He even admitted to this last episode and we see him trying to change that. He tells her he got fired. He allowed her to see a more vulnerable unsure side of himself and she didn’t balk. She was able to make him laugh and reassure that he doesn’t need to be perfect.

The reason the tub scene is such a HUGE deal is Conrad actually lets Belly help him. Like yes maybe Conrad could have done that by himself but she wanted to help. She wanted to be there for him and unlike the past he actually lets her.

I hate Adam Fisher and the way he so clearly favors Conrad and doesn’t even try to hide that. Jeremiah deserves so much better than constantly being mistreated and overlooked by his dad. Especially when he tries so hard to get his father’s approval but nothing he does is ever good enough.

But I have seen way too many of Conrad’s haters blaming Conrad for this somehow. Apparently Jeremiah always stands up for Conrad but Conrad never stands up Jeremiah or attempts to get his dad to stop favoring him. That is just so blatantly false! That’s not even about character interpretation it’s about what we are clearly given. Conrad has done all he can to show his dad that he has no interest in having a close relationship with him. He tolerates him, mostly for Jeremiah’s sake, and that’s that. I don’t think he could be any more clear how little he wants to do with Adam.

He tries to convince Adam to come onboard with the wedding so he is aware of his golden child power and tries to use it for good. I think people who act like Jeremiah was mocking Conrad and happy about him getting fired are absolutely reaching, he was nice in these scene but I don’t think he was really defending him either. And while this is interpretation, I also think that Conrad brought up being fired because he was getting tired of the golden boy treatment especially on his brothers day.

While I think his lack of communication is a character flaw, he didn’t tell Belly he still loved her because he was putting Jeremiah first! Him keeping secrets from Jeremiah does cause problems but his intentions are always pure! He’s not being selfish! I’m not going to claim that Conrad is perfect by any means, but acting like he’s the world’s worst brother is incredibly unfair.

I’ve seen so many people miss the point about Belly’s memory.

The point is Belly has never seen Conrad clearly. She’s (like a lot of this fandom) has put Conrad in the toxic untouchable bad boy box. She has seen all of Conrad’s actions through that lens. The memory of Rosie disrupts that narrative and reframes so many of Conrad’s actions

Something something about Conrad pushing everyone away because he doesn’t want to hurt them and wants to handle everything himself to not be a burden and Jeremiah pushing people away because he is so desperate to please his dad that he lets Adam make his choices for him.

Laurel and Conrad’s relationship is so special to me. The way she sees him in a way that no one else does. The way she checks in on him when no one else will. Her calling him the first baby in season one was too cute. Conrad is forever Laurel and Susannah’s first baby.

Did I want Conrad to reveal to his dad that he knew about the affair? Yep. Did I also want to watch Jeremiah get uncomfortable if cheating was mentioned and for Conrad to notice? Yes.

I really don’t get the problem with Jere going to more school. I’ve taken gap years and had semesters with a lower workload because I needed a break or needed time to work on my mental health. College is not a one size fits all sort of thing. It’s not like he failed his classes, he just needs more to graduate. And I had mental breakdowns and failed classes before and it is not at all a big deal.

I understand that his problem was more not checking with his advisor like he should have and not paying close enough attention to his email but it’s still not that big of a problem. I agree that paired with a lot of his actions like getting a credit card for free tickets and being unable to pay for it (really??!! Dude!) it paints him as a very immature character but just taking longer shouldn’t be the complaint. “Super seniors” don’t really exist in college so it’s weird to act like that’s a problem. Him not knowing he needed an extra semester until the last possible second is absolutely something to critique, but why are people acting like he’s stupid because he needed more credits for his major? And why are people acting like if you don’t take 4 or less years for college then you are a failure in life?

And Adam sucks! I’m glad people are remembering that now but it was so frustrating when fans acted like he was iconic for bullying his son. He had no reason to shame Jeremiah when he was supposed to be saying nice things about him, especially after he gave a good speech for his mom. His behavior is unacceptable and Jeremiah is desperately trying to make his dad proud of him and I feel sorry for him. Adam puts the pressure on Conrad to be perfect and has no expectations for Jer so he has no place wondering why his eldest dislikes him and being confused why his youngest doesn’t have much ambition. Both Fisher brothers deserve a better father.
