I'll be honest when it turns out in inquisition that Sebastian went on to annex Kirkwall I was shocked at how much of a natural progression that was for his character. It just made total sense. The whole theme of justice vs. vengeance vs. wrath etc. still has me thinking about DA2 like 14+ (?) years later. I miss the essays of meta. I've lost basically every blog from back there in the old times

*shows up to dragon age discourse about a decade and a half later because i'm no longer able to keep myself from shutting up* sebastian needed about triple the material he got even by dlc companion standards because the common misconception he's badly-written is not only false but doubly aided by the fact his quest ends before you even meet him (or indeed WHEN you meet him and tell him you killed his family's murderers). he's tame by the rest of da2's party's standards but he's consistent in his characterization throughout the story. it was a missed opportunity not to have him butt heads with anders past the surface-level banter when the game ends with him possibly leaving for good if you side with blondie, swearing to hunt him and hawke down. what do you mean the police will be here any minute now, i knocked on your window first this time
