Key Strategies for Instructional Design Assessment
We continue our series on how instructional designers and educators must make learning smarter and focus on objective and assessment strategies. What makes a good objective?
Objectives often get lost in the shuffle because many think this component of a lesson remains irrelevant.
聽However, I beg to differ.
聽A good objective helps the learner to break down the skill into tangible aspects for them to master. The clearer the objective is to the user, the more likely they will be to understand the skill levels.
聽The objective also sets up the framework for the assessment to take place.
Assessments must bring out the user's learning style
All too often, assessments remain broad. That鈥檚 because of two key factors: time and money.
聽Those conducting the assessment will not have the time to hand grade the assignment, nor will they likely have the budget to build an assessment.
聽That鈥檚 a huge problem because not everyone learns the same way. Not everyone performs well on tests when the only format is multiple choice.
Instructional Designers need to develop vital objectives and assessment strategies
To start incorporating some strategies, one must ask themselves several questions.
聽Where can we find the objectives we will include in the course?
What required knowledge and skills must the instructor emphasize?
When were the objectives Last updated?
Can we tie the course into the client鈥檚 work (or real-world scenarios)?
Was there an initial mapping already done?
Are there any critical vocabulary that may confuse the user?
Should we use informal vs. formal assessments?
Will summative or formative assessments include everything covered?
What kinds of data can we generate for the instructor and user?
Would the instructor understand the user鈥檚 mastery of the lesson should a rubric-based assignment be provided?
These instrumental questions guide an instructor to developing a course and prove that you can鈥檛 use the same assessment style for every objective, much less the user.
聽For when an instructional designer thinks ABOUT INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN, they must consider every aspect of the job. Only then will they make learning smarter.

Turkey is one of the most attractive countries for real estate investors or those wishing to own real estate in Turkey and apartments for sale in Istanbul from around the world.
In recent years, real estate investments in Turkey have witnessed rapid growth, especially after the Turkish government amended Article 35 of the Real Estate Law, which is considered one of the most important real estate laws in Turkey, which concerns foreign investors or wishing to buy real estate in Turkey, as this article was amended by Law No. 6302 in the year 2012, according to this amendment, the condition of reciprocity for foreign investors wishing to buy real estate in Turkey was canceled. The foreign investor can own any type of real estate on Turkish lands such as (houses, Istanbul apartments for sale, agricultural lands, stores and offices, etc.)
To achieve successful real estate ownership in Turkey, it is necessary to think carefully about the goal of buying Turkish real estate and the desired benefit from it, and several things must be paid attention to when the real estate investor searches or wants to own real estate in Turkey, the most important of which are:
The investor must inspect the real estate on the ground and the area where the property is located.
Disclosure of the legal real estate status in the municipality.
Ensure that there is no foreclosure or seizure of the property from the Land Registry Department.
Knowing as much information as possible about the company executing the real estate project and all the projects previously implemented by this company.
Ensure that the property conforms to specifications, is legally licensed, and that there are no violations on it.
You must know the real rental returns and not fall into the trap of deceiving some real estate project owners, as the executing company promises the customer a return that may reach 8% to 10% and this of course is an exaggerated return for rental returns in Turkey, as the average rental returns for real estate in Turkey ranges between 4% to 5% no more, most companies that promise a high rental return during the first three years add this increase to the real property price.
Knowing all the services available within and near the project area, such as hospitals, malls, schools, especially for those with children, and public transport and transportation.
Knowing the terms of payment, imposed real estate taxes, and property purchase fees, ranging from 7% to 10% of the property value.
If the investor finds apartments for sale in Istanbul and decides to buy, he must sign the purchase contracts at the notary and by a legal attorney to ensure the rights of both parties.
Do all the financial payments through the bank in order to ensure the right of both parties
