In this experiment I wanted to focus on where tribes were located, so on the laser cutting machine I put in the outline of Kenya, and used a scrap piece of wood with a close up photo of one of my monochromatic pieces so that it could lead and outlined as the shape of Kenya.
I didn’t want to follow up with this experiment as it took a long time to do and Vector out, I didn’t see my pieces going far with this so I just kept it as an experiment. I did enjoy the process but I wanted something more creative.

Researching different techniques and gaining inspiration from the video that showed a chef doing this technique with icing, I also enjoyed this marbleing affect that I had spent time practicing and perfecting the technique.
However when reviewing it with my classmates, we compared the circular lines to trees, the age rings - which relates back to my concept and research of the golden ratio. Nonetheless, I loved the effect that it created almost like an optical illusion. (candy cane one) (orangeone) after reviewing my other piece, my work looked as if it was in style of optical illusions, shared coloured connotations of planets like Mars and the sun.
I used a different material called Perspex which aloud me to have a smooth background for my acrylic mixtures. I tried to use circles to keep in theme of the golden ratio, yet the triangular piece was just a scrap bit that I wanted to try, reminded me of a candy cane.

Atelier Populaire:
In this lesson I picked a poster I liked from Atelier Populaire. I had to describe what the representation was like for me, as a group we had to discuss this between us and note down points on this.

We were given a task to come up with ideas and look at our mind map of issues from college and do a response to this art movement. We decided on doing a topic that had been discussed previousl by student council in our school which was rubbish that was always left behind in the canteen.
During this topic and experimentation we decided to use the same technique as the art students that created the organising posters, the technique we used was called collographing and we made two separate try out posters.
With the leftover paint that we had we used scrap bits of tissue that had been used to wipe the excess paint, and dabbed it on the table to create the effect of rubbish.
I personally think that we could of done better in terms of making it neater and cleaner but other than that I think our piece works well and in the style of Atelier.

In the end I decided to keep in context of what we were protesting in a sense, I decided that we should use scrap cardboard to cut it out the shape of chairs and tables. Then we use cardboard pieces for collagraphing to create this effect. I personally loved this version of the Final end product as it related to our topic and demonstrated rubbish that we were initially protesting.
